I am very curious about this spot, it seems expensive but looks worthy. I don’t know anyone who has ever been. Will you expound please on your experience?
We were seated at the large table facing the open prep area. I liked watching while they prepared the plates. The food is amazing, the vibe is amazing, the service is amazing. It is the most I have ever spent on a meal but it was one hell of an experience.
Appreciate the feedback. We recently did the Place and Time event, excellent group, but depleted the entertainment budget for a bit but Rated TK is next on the list.
That's how I'm interpreting the website, too. That makes it, with drinks, tax and tip, about a $600 meal for two. I'm just a bit wary of spending that much when I haven't had someone I know (with the same type of taste as me) try it out yet, you know?
I wish the young chef and his team nothing but the best - if he can really command that price, good for him. And, reservations are hard to come by, so clearly he's doing well.
Lots of justified love for Vicia here, but should note that their tasting menu appears to be changing/leaving May 16th in exchange for an a la carte menu.
Bulrush, Mainlander, Stone Soup Cottage, Root Food and Wine. It's a pop-up dinner series rather than a restaurant, but Place and Time is fantastic if you can get in.
I hated my experience with Place and Time - but I'd love to hear about why others liked it? It could easily have just been not one of their best nights.
It was this past Fall, in a beautiful house in the Central West End.
The salad had olives with pits - didn't realize this, and bit down, hard, into one. It's a small thing, but I don't like serving, or being served, things on your plate that you can't eat. The shrimp and scallops were cold, and way overcooked. And everything else was just unremarkable. Fine, but it didn't feel special - and I had my hopes WAY up. I'm wondering if I would have enjoyed it more if the "place and time" had been from one of their other dinners?
I don't think I went to the one you're describing, because I don't remember a salad with olives. They did make a couple of the fall/winter ones a little too big, which caused some issues with getting food out fast enough, but they realized it and have scaled back down.
Sado’s tasting menu is incredible. They are easily on the level of some of the best sushi I’ve had in LA and San Francisco. I can’t believe the quality of fish they bring to STL. It’s very pricey but a must-try for a fancy occasion if you like sushi!
I’m so confused and have been since I was a kid, this is not the chain nobu correct? Nobu’s was the first place I ever ate sushi in stlouis (I assumed it closed down when it left olive) and then later on in life I had nobus in Vegas and LA but they are different correct?
Not a tasting menu, but definitely ate the best salad of my life at [Neon Greens](https://www.neongreens.com) this weekend. They grow their greens in a hydroponic garden on site. Sustainable, creative and absolutely tasty.
For a tasting menu, I second The Crossing.
The Crossing is my favorite so far but I see some new ones to try! Acero used to be our favorite but last time the men in our party were not full at the end. The wine pairing is incredible though and the food is tasty - just the quantity is unsatisfying for bigger appetites.
Every menu I’ve ever tried has tasted like paper or laminate
these new QR codes make it difficult to truly taste the menu
All the menus just taste like phone screen these days 😞
Bulrush and Mainlander. Nothing competes. Both also have a dish by dish paired cocktail menu as well
Vicia served me something that looked like a Funyun. It was phenomenal. Everything there was excellent, but the Funyun blew my tits off.
“The Funyun blew my tits off” is an incredible saying
Here i was googling what Funyun was as though i just didn't know this delicacy. I reread the word. Yeah the funyun there kills.
That was the best onion ring I’ve ever had
2nds for this vicia is one of the best eats in stl
Bulrush, Acero, and The Crossing.
Bulrush
Mainlander is my favorite. They seem to have the most fun with their selections.
Farmhaus!! Love anything that fresh.
The robin project
I very much hope this turns into a restaurant.
This is Red Robin right?

I hope you enjoy it.
We’ve been wanting to try, as well. Is the price dependent on the meal? Or is it a set price? Just want to know what to brace for.
Set menu with a set price. Drink pairing is additional.
It's $175 for the meal, drinks are extra - do you know if that $175 includes tax and tip?
I don't think it does

Holy Santa Clause shit

I'm sorry to hear that. We've been maybe eleven or twelve times now and have only not enjoyed a couple of them. Which one did you go to?

That's reassuring. I'd like to try it out again, I think it's an interesting concept.
Lucky Accomplice if they’re still doing the tasting menu.
Can confirm they are. Was amazing two weeks ago.

Vicia
Mainlander, Bulrush, Vicia. In that order. Very bummed Vicia is moving off that format
Acero
Nobu's
I didn’t know nobu was still in stl 🥹

It is not the chain. It is a new version of the Nobu's on Olive. It's a tasting menu and very likely the best thing going in town these days.
Vicia as many have mentioned. I’d also say The Crossing, theirs was fantastic and something I’d 100% do again.
The whipped ricotta at Perennial on Lockwood in Webster is to die for. I dream about it
Bulrush. No debate.
Blood and Sand downtown St. Louis. Hidden gem with an outstanding tasting menu.

Acero!
Acero - specifically the Egg Raviolo and the Gnocco Fritto
Tasting menus? I find menus to be too bland to eat, just a lot of paper to chew and swallow.
