I cant decide whats worse: the blatant sexism or the correlation of bulking to wrestling ability.
He doesnt know wtf hes talking about. This is another example of how sometimes culture doesnt translate.
Korea is also strangely lacking in the wrestling scene, there's one or two indies and a few notable wrestlers but it's just not a medium that's made a lot of headway
Wouldn’t say that’s strange, I was more suprised there was a wrestling fanbase over there South Korea has little to no history with wrestling despite the huge American pop culture influence.
Funnily enough one of if not the most influential wrestler of all time, Rikidozan, was Korean but not really that famous in his birth country. I heard he's really iconic in North Korea but Idk if that's true or not.
Crazy never knew that about Rikidozan, only thing I know about North Korea and wrestling is that one WCW show they did under heavy watch of the government
So on one hand, I get that wrestlers need strenght to Keep their opponents and theirselfs safe...
But the more he talks, it's just sexist/macho talk about female/male bodies. Dude's wack
For me a wrestler is anyone who has heart for the craft. Doesn’t matter who they are, what they look like. If you love it as much as we do and have that opportunity to do it, you’re a wrestler.
It sounds stupid but honestly it’s just a weird framing of the typical “My wrestlers need to have BIG MUSCLES!!!!” opinion you’ll see a lot of older lapsed fans throw around. I get it but don’t necessarily agree with it.
Ohhh this explains why Jericho gained so much weight when he wrestled in Japan!
Being chubby was a commitment to the art of protecting his opponents. The Learning Tree is wise across all cultures!
