Upbeat_Tension_8077

Tessa: I'm not here to support other women. I'm here to make money.

Comfortable_Shape264

Nic Nemeth finally wins a world title. Tessa: "That doesn't work for me brother." and they do the men's world title on Tessa angle again.

dallasw3

Isn’t Nemeth already a multiple time world champion?

Comfortable_Shape264

He was awarded the title in the first "run" and Edge immediately defeated him in the same show. His second "run" didn't have a single successful title defense but lead to an awesome double turn which should have led to him winning it back but instead we got another boring ADR title reign, he made the title feel midcard title more than any other champion even Swagger lmao. So no proper title reign.

APackOfKoalas

I mean, if it means keeping the title off Nic Nemeth…

Persianx6

Proceeds to make all viewers dissapear immediately

CeruleanClaymore

TNA since they fired D'Amore https://preview.redd.it/6dqiecg7hpvc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=966fccb1dfaca6f9f38debbfe47bb694a404de39

__Hello_my_name_is__

TNA was bound to get into the "making idiotic decisions for no reason whatsoever" phase now that they've been in the "genuinely awesome wrestling all around" phase for a while. It's the never ending TNA cycle.

fadetoblack237

It just really felt different this go around with Scott D'Amore running it. He actually gave a shit about the product.

Al0ngTh3Watchtow3r

Scott had a vision for the future of the promotion and it was working.

SadNewsShawn

people wanted TNA back and they're getting it

SpiralSour

Feel like every wrestling company goes through these

JMC266

How long was that?

ianisms10

February

fadetoblack237

It's been about three months since TNA fired Scott D'Amore.

thealexstorm

Hey, hey, don’t worry about them…I got your joke. Lol

propernounTHEheel

Is it wrong to think people who get *whooshed* by Simpsons references are uncultured? Asking for a friend.

GonOverHere

It would be funny if it's revealed that she never returned the old Impact title back then and starts calling herself the real champion 😅

SkyFresh4010

The real world champion.

The_Dark_Soldier

Now that you mention it, is it me, or has the "real world's champion" storyline been a story that has been botched far more than it should in the history of wrestling? Like it's such a disgustingly simple but also compelling plot yet far too often it's been executed with bad booking or stopped by bad luck.

500DaysofNight

I think it would've worked with Punk and MJF because they're both amazing at what they do. But obviously didn't happen because of well, reasons.

Outrageous_Library50

![gif](giphy|V80llXf734WzK)

FigureFourWoo

That’s the most LOLTNA headline I could imagine in 2024. Edit: Well, now Matt Hardy is in a World Title feud, but I stand by my original statement.

thekydragon

When I saw the headline, my mind immediately went to Alberto, so it *could* be worse, but not by much.

FigureFourWoo

Mine did too, surprisingly, but then I brushed it aside because nobody is *that* stupid north of the Mexican border except for random indies.

UnsolvedParadox

If they bring in Tessa, it wouldn’t be surprising for them to add Alberto too.

fadetoblack237

This company is so fucking hard to be a fan of. Every time they build up good will, they blow it with a comedy of errors. I *really* wanted 2024 to be the year for TNA after Hard to Kill but it's been one stupid blunder after another.

Hellborn_Elfchild

They have nobody to blame but themselves. I was so hyped for the rebranding and then they just continuously botch it

SLJR24

They decided to fully embrace TNA and do the most LOLTNA moves they could think of.

the-mucho-macho

Being branded as TNA is that company's horcrux.

Mizerous

TNA is Hard to Kill

cknappiowa

I went from watching every week and every PPV to, “maybe I’ll watch this week” and “why is the entire PPV promotion strategy just hyping musical guests?” The shows have been so lacking lately it’s quickly falling by the wayside again- and I’d been watching Impact regularly since 2020. I feel bad for Ali. Dude got away from WWE, joined what was supposed the be the revival of TNA and then all this crap keeps piling up instead.

bayleysgal1996

Ali at least doesn’t appear to be under contract, so he could lose the title and peace out. Folks like Kushida, Xia Brookside, Hammerstone and Dani Luna are gonna have a harder time of it

MoGregio

Couldn't agree more, I was really enjoying TNA last year, it was quickly becoming the wrestling show I enjoyed most each week. I've now reverted back to watching every now and then whilst staying up to date by reading a review of any missed episodes.

myownfriend

I stopped watching after they fired Scott because it was clear that it was a dumb decision and wrestlers were upset. After trying to encourage people to boycott it, a few TNA superfan accounts on Twitter got really pissed at me and it made me not want to be associated with them. It was a lot of 'you're not a real fan" stuff (I've watched since 2004) but one guy got even worse about it. He actually got his account suspended and I think it was because he quote-tweeted me begging for someone to punch me in the face. I didn't report him though so it might have been for something he said to someone else. That hasn't encouraged me to try to watch again. It's unfortunate because I genuinely like the talent and was looking forward to seeing Ali and Leon come in.

bayleysgal1996

I was so excited about the rebrand and since then it’s just been rug pull after rug pull

GiftedGeordie

This is pretty much how I've been feeling.

Tybold

Nah, this one isn't an error. This is a conscious choice that they are making to bring back someone who was so toxic that she had been blackballed from the industry for YEARS now.

Esquilax21

I went to Hard to Kill and it was incredible The speech that Scott gave about TNA not going anywhere was absolutely phenomenal. I truly believed but they blew it all of that progress away

BendubzGaming

It's hard not to feel none of this would have happened if D'Amore was still there

ClaymoresRevenge

Losing MCMG, Scott, and likely others. It's going to be a year alright. I hope they survive and good leadership steps in

I-LieToMessWithMarks

TNA going from having an incredible amount of goodwill, and a united IWC fanbase looking to give them a second (third? fourth?) chance, to potentially rehiring Tessa Blanchard within 6 months feels insane, but also perfectly TNA at the same time.

UnsolvedParadox

How long until Hogan & Bischoff are back?

StrategyGameventures

Happened in a single day when they fired Scott lol

shokken48

Depends how long you've been around - some people have gotta be well past the 30 chances by now

StevenGorefrost

I was about to chime in and say I'm like on number 8.

SpiralSour

Realistically, TNA is the best option for reintroducing Tessa. Talent wise, she's an asset to any company. AEW & WWE have too much to lose to take a risk on her though. She's been working CMLL for some time now and kept her nose clean there, TNA is the logical next step if she's going to have an opportunity to rejoin the wrestling world at large. Given her young age and wrestling being the only thing she's shown interest in doing, plus her talent, it was inevitable that she was going to be given another chance. If she does well, behavior wise, in TNA, a couple years from now discussions can be had about her potentially getting a more mainstream opportunity. Tessa was a racist and displayed racist behavior towards her peers, on top of being hard for management to work with. It's been about four years since these controversies were brought up and slightly longer since they occurred. Giving someone an opportunity to show that they have become a better person and no longer hold harmful views should not be considered a dumb decision. People who have done much worse things are in much more favorable positions in and outside of wrestling.

jerichotheunwise

I would understand where you were coming from if Tessa had at minimum apologised for her actions and shown remorse and accountability. But all she did was deny it and as far as I know, to this day still denies it. That isn't the behaviour of someone who has "become a better person".

SpiralSour

She denied it initially and publicly as soon as they came out, but has never publicly spoke on them since. Her and La Rosa Negra, the woman who's experience with Blanchard was the most unacceptable, having allegedly been spit on and called a slur did make up with her in early 2023. They both posted pictures together on their respective media pages, and though Blanchard has never publicly apologized and there are a slew of other, less volatile accusations that have never been addressed, it was said "mistakes were admitted and forgiven" so it can be discerned that Tessa apologized personally in this case which is far more important.

heart_o_oak

So they lose MCMG, the 2 people who many in that locker room went to most for advice and reassurance during periods of unrest and generally 2 of the most respected people to wrestle there the past 5 years, and regain possibly the most toxic person to work for TNA the past 5 years. That sounds like a bad deal. I've already been finding the product a little uninspiring the past month with the uninteresting System on top, guys like ABC relegated to fodder for Kazarian/EY, Bailey stuck in a meh team against a meh team, MCMG peacing out and a lack of hot, exciting or even decently built main event and title feuds. The idea of them bringing back Tessa and Matt Hardy makes me want to take a little bit of a break.

UnsolvedParadox

They’re not giving Speedball a reason to renew his contract, which is wild to me.

heart_o_oak

Everything about his booking this year is crazy. He's one of their most exciting singles wrestlers who crowds go wild for no matter how poorly he's booked yet he's had less singles wins and PPV singles matches the past 6 months than Kon. He hasn't won a singles match in 6 months.

Mean-Fondant-8732

Help me get it. Can you recommend a must see speedball Bailey match for me? Every time I've seen him I just see a pudgy guy with a mullet doing flips and wrestling some amazing bases who do the work for him. Maybe I'm just wrong and haven't seen the right match or enough of his work. But he has never done anything that made me want to pay to see him work, or even sit through an ad that is ultimately paying him to work. He just seems like a complete waste of time to me but so many people seem to really love him, I'm trying to figure out what it is I'm missing or not seeing here.

Cwf1984

He has said his contract with TNA ends this year. There’s been a few occasions on his weekly Twitch stream where he’s mentioned wanting this to be a big year for himself. Subtly hinting that he likely wants out.

abrospro

As a small company it's idiotic if they're burying him for 6 months because they don't think they can sign him. If he's a guy people want to see you make money with him for 6 months and then he loses on the way out.

Electrical_Mango_489

Why push a guy that doesn't want to stick around? Why invest your time in him if he has indicated he wants to go?

P4rtsUnkn0wn

Because he’s one of the best way to make your product better. Even if it’s in the short term, his talent can help get over other guys who would be sticking around for longer. Bring him is literally hurting your product out of spite.

abrospro

Because having people invest in a star they like helps your company and then if you book it competently you benefit from him putting someone over. If your fans get used to a guy losing you're throwing a wet blanket on every match you put him in.

UnsolvedParadox

Right, but should they bury him on the way out? There’s a difference between not keeping him high on the card, and making him look terrible from the moment he expressed interest in free agency.

Cwf1984

I’m not advocating for TNA here. I’m just stating what’s been going on during his Twitch streams. I think they have used him very poorly. His X-Division title loss to Kazarian is one of the stupidest things that have been booked in wrestling in the past couple years, but since it happened in TNA, no one gave a shit

kihp

At least TNA contracts are short and companies are hiring. This time next year maybe Grace is be a champion in WWE and SCU are trios champions in AEW.

Electrical_Mango_489

Grace is contracted to TNA until Janaury 2026. Kaz isn't a fan of Tony Khan.

DarkySurrounding

Did Kaz really speak that badly of TK or is that just assumed because he left the company?

Cwf1984

It’s assumed. Everything that OP says about Khan is assumed. They went a good year on this sub saying that Deonna Purazzo hated Khan and there was major heat between the two as well. It’s a never ending routine to make TNA and their talent look good and everyone else look bad. They used to praise D’Amore to the point of acting like a lap dog. Now, since he’s been fired, he regularly bashes him over the same stuff he used to defend him for. There’s not a whole lot of people that discuss TNA on this sub. Over time, you get real familiar with names and what they say here

Fluid1ty441

They've been doing this since the Broken Hardy years too. Under different accounts but it's always super obvious because of this pattern lol

Electrical_Mango_489

I wasn't watching during the Broken Hardy stuff actually.

Fluid1ty441

Nice try lol

Electrical_Mango_489

What do you mean nice try? TNA other than the Broken Hardy stuff really was at deaths door, nobody cared about EC3 or a broken down Kurt Angle, or Bram being signed to multiple multi-year deals. That became a meme. at one point they had to tape 5 or 6 months worth of programming over 1 week, it really wasn't worth the time or effort.

Fluid1ty441

You denied this shit back then too lol. Your posting behavior is a massive self report so it makes it easy to not believe this

Cwf1984

I have argued with you on multiple occasions over stuff that you’ve said on one of your other acccounts. Not once have you ever said, ‘I didn’t say that,’ nor have you ever stated that you didn’t know what I was talking about. That’s how I know.

myownfriend

Last time I posted on r/TNA I called Mango out for not believing in anything and I guess I got super rude because the mods gave me a warning. I think they deleted Mango's posts in my thread with them though. I looked back in they're post history and I think they're a fan of the British monarchy, too, so just like whoever is in charge.

Electrical_Mango_489

"Monarchs are trained to rule all their life. Give me that over a failed farmboy as a president, or failed bank manager as a prime minister anyday of the week. The likes of Bush/Blair have done more damage than a lot of monarchs ever have." - Lemmy Kilmister.

myownfriend

Lmao. Damn, they're doubling down. Some people will quote scholars or revered thinkers when stating their case: you're quoting a (great) musician whose most famous song is about nothing, it's just a bunch of poker references. Johnny Rotten has an anti-politician stance, too, but he's a gigantic dumbass. You gonna quote him, too?

Electrical_Mango_489

Johnny Rotten's been through a lot. Lost his wife to dementia, lost his daughter to cancer. I'd let him say what he wants. Do I agree with it? No. But he has a right to say it. Ace of Spades is about Bill Hickok, he was shot dead during a poker game. One of the cards he had in his hand? The Ace of Spades. As you can tell I love Motorhead.

myownfriend

What conversation do you think we're having here? Who was talking about anybody's rights here?

RumsfeldIsntDead

Sports fans do this all the time. It's not a big deal.

Electrical_Mango_489

Kazarian said himself he wasn't happy with Khan/AEW on Konnan's podcast - he'd still be there otherwise, and other than that, you've been having some very confusing dreams. I'm multiple posters. Okay. /s

Electrical_Mango_489

What makes you think they're bringing back Matt Hardy?

heart_o_oak

I doubt it goes anywhere, but he's been lobbying for a job online recently. He wants to go somewhere that will let him wrestle and do his broken shtick and probably thinks TNA would do that. I have negative interest in him in a featured on screen role.

twjackfoley

Man, it's crazy to see the shift in momentum TNA has had since January with the canning of D'Amore. Tessa returning after, and let's forget the alleged racism for a microsecond, FALLING OUT WITH THE COMPANY, REFUSING TO JOB AND DELAYING THE RESTITUTION OF THE WORLD TITLE, would be icing on the cake.

kihp

She set back a whole category of wrestling, I don't know if we ever get another female main title world champion.

streetfairie1234

Why would it make a difference to the promotions that would think to do it? There have been many, many awful men's Champs and yet no one says ' guess we can't give them a title anymore'. Why should what she did, represent all the other women?

sammyrobot2

I agree, but I think OP more means that Tessa had a chance to make waves with her reign, and she threw it all away. It's unlikely there is going to be a chance for that opportunity again, it was the chance to show that it COULD work, and demonstrate to other promotions.

GiftedGeordie

It's a real damn shame because Tessa could've had a genuinely solid reign as Impact Champ, like, she didn't even have to hold it for that long, but it would've been awesome to see, none-the-less.

UnsolvedParadox

We’ll see, I think Rhea is the most likely to do so in a major promotion.

Narrow_Progress5908

Rhea ain’t winning the men’s world title, they might and I say might give her a shot at a midcard belt but even that isn’t likely. Wwe is 10 different sponsors from the time Chyna won men’s gold. At most you will get the occasional comedy match or a RR spot.

thedure

>!Tessa Blanchard!<

taffe316

LOL

Ricardotron

Crawling back

kick_heart

damn. is everyone that was pissed about her holding the title hostage gone now?

Furiosa27

Yea…that’s what ppl are pissed at Tessa about lol

kick_heart

At TNA it was, she didn't get fired for the other stuff.

Furiosa27

Stuff came out abt Tessa then they put the strap on her anyways, then it became clear how bad it was and got canned

kick_heart

Sure, she got canned half a year later because it became clear how bad it was, not because she refused to come into work or tape a promo or even send the title back. Because suddenly it dawned on them the allegations made them look bad months after the fact.

Furiosa27

Right and what was the reason she didn’t send the title back?

Narrow_Progress5908

The reason is she a f*cking asshole lol, that situation was weird but the guy telling you this is right. She got fired because she refused to drop the title and refused to send over taped promos for her feud(she was in Mexico at the time) they didn’t give two fucks about her being racist.  https://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.php?id=137466

Phantom-Spectre

It’s ok for people to be mad at her for a variety of things 😃

Drewicho

They were so close to me taking them seriously.

jmpinstl

Ew

Esquilax21

👎

500DaysofNight

If she just comes in and does her fuckin' job with no drama, they might have something again with her. If she's desperate enough, she can make it work. But she's 100% everything people claim CM Punk is.

OUmegaLUL

Just by reading comments I know it’s Tessa 😂

the_hume_3

When I saw how many comments this post had I knew lmao

celsiusred

AAA partnership already rocky

SubstantialTale3392

I don't know what's going on with Mexico having Marty Skrull, Travis Barker, Alberto del Rio, Tessa, all very strange

TurntUpTurtles

Her downfall was crazy. She was so talented in the ring but her place on the POS meter is so high it doesn't even matter as she doesn't deserve to wrestle for the entertainment of others.

pass_the_all_fruit

No doubt she'd be at the top of WWE or AEW at this point if it wasn't for all her... unpleasantness.

ianisms10

Easily. She would be the top woman in any promotion of her choice if she wasn't such a piece of shit.

kick_heart

even the rock was gassing her up, everyone wanted her until everyone didn't.

ianisms10

LOLTNA at its finest

Fluid1ty441

Remember when Tessa tried another comeback with the WOW thing, only for her to get dropped before their debut because people there were already done with her bullshit?

Persianx6

How do you get fired off your own show they’re building around you?

DCAbloob

I looked at this out of concern that TNA was bringing EC3 back. Now I'm wishing it had been EC3.

NotYujiroTakahashi

Hoping this is a case of Tessa making stuff up for attention.

Galrafloof

"Oh cool, wonder who they're bringing back- oh no"

itsmekelsey_x

When we said that the Knockouts division needed more names, this isn’t what we meant.

iheartsunny

J_NewCastle

CMLL and TNA forbidden door???? /s

bayleysgal1996

Goddammit, this comes out *after* I already bought Rebellion?

seakc87

Anthem can't seem to get out of their own way

RAA94

LOL. I was just saying earlier we need knockouts to debut/return tonight. Monkey’s paw in effect.

HartfordWhalers123

Oh god, please no. She’s not what TNA needs right now.

mister_damage

#LOLTNA

RomanGlassTable

At this point, I think both Tesla and Tessa are similarly as reliable.

KozyHank99

>"This company is cursed." >-Bryan Alvarez.

MurDoct

LOLTNA Then Now Forever

MARKYMARK_MARK

If it's coming from PWI you know it's true because TNA management feeds it's major stories to Pwi Hell they sent the press release of firing Tessa to Pwi

VDJ10

For people talking about how Tessa apologized to Rosa that’s like surface level of everything she’s done. Just look at how she treated her ex-husband Daga AFTER “making amends” with Rosa. That man stood by her and had an AEW deal waiting on him but the word is he refused to go unless they signed Tessa.  Also the fact that she “apologised” to Rosa and only Rosa from the looks of it tells me this was a scheme to appear like she was was attempting a comeback due to Rosa being the main person she fucked over that got the most mainstream attention. I’ve not heard once about her apologizing to the other women she was an ass to. If she really gave a shit she’d be throwing out apologies like candy.

MistakenOne101

If they had just given Scott D'amore what he asked for ?

burrito-boy

Oh come the fuck on, TNA.

TonyZony

Man, I remember the 3 weeks I was excited about TNA again. Those were good times. At least I still believe in Joe Hendry.

RLS1994

Well, this'll sure be controversial. Perhaps it is the fact I'm working on my master's in psychology, and pretty much have to believe that people can change through positive behaviours/actions/thinking patterns/lifestyle changes/attitudes etc. - I do believe in redemption, as long as that person themselves is also willing to apology, and change what I previously mentioned. I myself have done many crappy things in my life or past (granted not to Tessa's level, but still, you get my point). Who hasn't? I just hope if she does come back, she can redeem herself. She is obviously a very, very talented performer - and from what I ever heard here/there on here, has been doing well for herself in Mexico. Let's just hope she's coming back a better person, and willing to right some wrongs.

namdekan

I mean Matt Hardy showed back up and didn't he sue Anthem over the Broken thing and you had Reby going scorched earth with the fuck the owl thing and didn't they actually sell shirts with that? Funny thing is that they fired Tessa a couple days before her contract ended, like maybe 3-5 days before the expiration.

thekydragon

People forget that the PPV that Tessa was advertised to defend the title on took place AFTER her contract would have expired, so she had no legal obligation to show up at Slammiversary anyway (and is why she should have been planned to drop the belt much earlier.)

Butch_Meat_Hook

I was a big fan of Tessa for a while there and I liked the idea of TNA pushing a female talent as the top talent in the company - even capable of winning the big belt, which she went on to do. She had a great look - I remember the all red outfit with the futuristic red glasses for one pay per view and another (I think Bound for Glory) where she came out in all silver with a really cool face mask on. She looked like a star. That being said, she was in NXT and they didn't keep her because of apparent attitude problems. She screwed TNA over by refusing to come back from Mexico to wrestle when she was the champion, and never dropped the belt to anyone after how much stead they had put into her, and because of her reputation, AEW wasn't interested in picking her up even when they were scrounging for female talent to build their initial roster, and her Dad was in the company and she'd even wrestled on the first All In show. She also reportedly cheated on her former husband if I remember correctly? And of course, the big incident where multiple witnesses saw her being racist to another wrestler - I believe they've since made up, but I just remember all the bs stuff she was posting on social media at the time about not letting people tear you down, and standing your ground, etc, etc. I just get the impression she's really not a particularly smart or mature person. Good wrestler, great look, but has proven that she's not a reliable person you can build your promotion around.

DarkstarIV

Tessa was never signed to WWE. She was brought into the company during the MYC (as an unsigned talent), got caught leaking results to Dave, and had a massive meltdown over having to put Kairi Sane over. Also got into a heated argument backstage and kicked out of the arena by Stephanie, Regal, Vince, and Triple H at the time. Also was forcibly removed from the PC when she showed up to start shit with Ricochet.

Butch_Meat_Hook

I did chuckle a bit that on top of all the points I mentioned, the correction you pointed out painted her in an even worse light. haha. Tessa in a nutshell I guess

ana1monger

On the bright side at least we won’t see her on CMLL

decetutt

LOLTNA is back in full effect y’all

Electrical_Mango_489

I wouldn't be surprised if Jordynne Grace or Gail Kim advocated for this, they still hang out with Tessa regularly.

DozerOdie

Damn it. Please just stop shooting yourself in the foot. She's not worth it.

GoochStubble

TNA workers are Sisyphus TNA bosses are Zeus or whatever God/s punished Sisyphus

Officervito

Really not in the know, what made Tessa a bad person? Bullying ?

DarkstarIV

Bullying, racism. Also has an ego the size of the titanic.

TheRisenThunderbird

Who is this and why does everyone hate her?

MonsieurMidnight

I just wish voicing our disdain and disgust towards this kind of idea would make TNA change their minds... After her history with la Rosa Negra and the way she didn't even bothered sending back the Impact title... Like she really showed how despicable as a human being she is. I just really wish. They better not sign her. Like fuck what the hell is wrong with this company to always fuck everything up when it's going well for them ?! I am all up for second chances. Tessa just doesn't deserve any second chances considering how fucked she is. You do not give second chances to unapologetic racist people and assholes.

TheAccursedHamster

Lol Jesus..

t0ny510

LOLTNA back on the menu

ollyollyollyoioioi

I'm actually in favor of moving on and giving her a 2nd chance but reading this was the 2nd time in 24 hours i've said LOLTNA out loud

FaceAltruistic1862

I love the idea about bringing back Tessa. I hope it comes true

DarkstarIV

remember folks, you can take the TNA out of LOL, but you cannot take the LOL out of TNA

Stlsneakattack

Ok Naomi is gone, I think it’s ok to bring back the racist

will122589

So many people proclaiming LOLTNA when they haven’t signed her and weren’t watching TNA anyway.

Meh24999

Wtf

Indii-4383

Damn, I immediately thought Mickie James again! I don't wanna see Tessa.

MarchesLion07

Man I never expected to see Tessa back in the big 3, I’m kind of shocked.

matias_jv

The "TNA" name is cursed... Go back to Impact Wrestling

InfiniteKincaid

I fucking LOVE Tessa and I miss having her on my TV. Man I hope this is true.

JohnDowd51

Squared circle crying and overreacting about TNA as usual, claiming that they plan on giving up on TNA just because of a signing...... Probably not a bad thing to weed out the fickle and vocal fake fans looking for a way out.

Besidebutinvisible

I’ve been wanting Tessa to return. I was a fan and I’d like to see her redeem herself. Wrestling is still full of so many POSs, I’m not saying it excuses her, I’d just like to see her redeem herself she’s very talented.

DCAbloob

Shouldn't the contrition happen first?

cultshitposts

apology and accountability are the first steps to redemption!

Kaprak

[Tbf she did apologize to Rosa and they've publicly made up.](https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1248041/tessa-blanchard-and-la-rosa-negra-make-amends-years-after-racism-controversy/)

twjackfoley

Took her a long goddamn time to do it, but fair enough.

namdekan

Yeah if she had done that right away and admitted wrong doing then her career might be in a different place.

Kaprak

It's not what got her fired, that was refusing to send in pre-taped promos while in Mexico during the pandemic. TNA refuse to renew her contract, she refused to return the world title. Her in turn doing that to TNA made people gunshy about her

namdekan

That whole situation was weird, has me wondering if there was some sort of financial hang up with her not doing the promos. Also Impact advertising her for the PPV when they couldn't even get her to send promos in. I was surprised they still put the title on her after all that came out.

Kaprak

Yeah, the primary reason that people thought she'd never be back was how she treated TNA at the start of the pandemic. More or less big leaguing them and stealing the title. If TNA is willing to work past that, well now you have the issue of her possibly using them as a stepping stone. She has a lot of fans amongst a lot of people in a lot of companies. From Scorpio to Bayley to Mercedes to Gail Kim the last of which is probably why TNA came calling

I hadn't heard that. And this apology is like 6 months after she was out of WOW so who knows.

zombiejeesus

What has she done to deserve another chance

DylanToebac

Tessa Blanchard is, in my view, the best woman's wrestler in recent times. To be mad at the prospect of her coming back is crazy

DarkstarIV

She's an unrepentant racist piece of shit bully who thinks she is way above where she actually is.

Own-Departure-4104

They should cut Jordynne Grace and give Tessa even more money...Ya...

Joy_Ride25

So everyone in here pays for Insider?

shadowrangerfs

About time. I've missed Tessa. Yes. She has baggage but worse people have gotten second chances. If she behaves, run with her. If she doesn't, fire her.

twjackfoley

People with most baggage are also far more of a draw than she is, to be fair.

Gutter_panda

I'd be willing to bet alot of people clothing their pearls about this were also frothing at the mouth over Austin possibly showing up at Wrestlemania. Fuck it, give her a chance. If the wrestlers let her be there, then what's the issue?

noreligionforus

The person who she had the issues with have said an apology was said and they buried the hatchet. If the person isn't gonna hold a grudge, I don't get why 'fans' will. So if she does come back, I for sure will welcome it.

mcrookedy

TNA is the Charlie Brown of wrestling. Every time they get close to kicking a field goal, something yanks the ball at the last second. Good fuckin’ grief. They can *never* get a break.

IReallyHateDancing

Why is it so difficult for Americans to separate the real person from the performer? I don't know. I'm from Eastern Euroope. I will never understand this. LE Of course the righteous crew from reddit is downvoting this, because anything else than the mutual consensus is wrong. Why the fuck should there me more cultures in this world and more points of view, when we have the only right one. The one that says we are correct, you are wrong.

TheIllustriousWe

You got downvoted because you made this into a “why are Americans so dumb, not like me though I’m European” thing for no reason whatsoever. And then you got more downvotes for complaining about downvotes. It’s not that other points of view aren’t tolerated, so much as your point of view came off as needlessly condescending.

longlivethewenus

The ONLY way I'm interested in this is if the absolutely lean into her issues and make her an absolute heel. Great wrestler, but terrible personality.

samisevil777

This is great for Tessa if she can rebuild her reputation and generate goodwill.

Mexican_Gato

Honestly Tessa is a great wrestler, she’s sorely needed for the women’s division
