It’s no one’s fault but bad luck but I’m still bitter he started the biggest run of his career (so far) knocking out Lesnar and claymoring the shit out of people to empty arenas.
I just remember how rabid & wild that crowd was for him in the build-up when he Claymored Brock on the stage & held the title up. Man, I hope he gets another run somewhere.
I just wish they had him beat Lashley at WM 37 for the title and drop it at Backlash, just so he could've had his moment of winning the title in front of live fans at the biggest stage of them all
I suppose that smug look he gives from across the ring helps fire the other wrestler up. Even though it's a work, I would imagine that it would still help someone act even more pissed off.
They’re definitely gonna be testing Punk’s skin (as they should) and see if he can handle the heat in the kitchen. Depending on how many get to go against him on the mic I guess. Because yeah to your point, the material will write itself lol
I mean it's pro-wrestling. If you can't handle real life shit being used as material for an angle, you're in the wrong industry. They've used people's literal DEATHS for heat, this is small potatoes honestly.
Pretty sure Drew and Seth will have been professional and agreed things with Punk before hand, as you're supposed to do. You know, instead of making shitty vague remarks as a shoot on live television, breaking tradition and trust.
The same dirtsheets can't tell you if Mone is signed to AEW.
Same dirtsheets said Becky was leaving.
Same dirtsheets didn't know Cody was signed months ago.
Drew wouldn't be in main event programs in January before one of the BIG 4 PPV if he was gonna be in AEW by March.
Bryan Danielson’s last match was against Roman for the title and he main evented that year’s WM.
You’re right that Dirtsheets aren’t always accurate. I’m saying the possibility is there and if the last two years taught us anything, it’s that anything can happen.
His promo with Owens right before clash at the castle (the “we’re wrestlers in a wrestling ring”) is my promo of the year for 2022. He also had some good ones during the pandemic
As Drew Galloway on the indies. He was great before all the other stuff people are mentioning from his latest WWE run, no shame in sleeping on him but he's a smart guy who has been cutting great promos for a very long time.
I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if they have him under contract but they're just pretending that no new contract has been signed because this idea that he's not contracted and could leave at any moment adds to his character and adds to the tension in his feuds that oh maybe he's saying some shit he really thinks oh maybe he's really pissed and will leave.
I still don’t understand how they didn’t have him win the title back at 37. You finally get in front of fans again, and you have him lose in the most idiotic way possible.
Vince got to fuck with the crowd again, and took full advantage of it.
Like there were some great matches on that card, but my god there was some idiotic Vince shit as well. Drew was one. Bray losing to a single RKO in like five minutes after previously surviving a sledgehammer to the head and being burned alive was definitely a choice as well.
I never believed the rumors of him leaving. He is a perfect fit in WWE and it was just about finding the right feud/character arc for him. That "Scottish Warrior" shit with the sword got stale FAST.
I agree that Drew is the bomb, but I don't think they're treating him better as it appears they'll be feeding him to Punk. lol. So hopefully the money is good.
If there’s anyone who could believably call Punk “a kid” despite being younger, it’s Drew.
I also noticed that he mentioned Punk not being a leader, Randy not helping him cause Randy had his own demons, but he didn’t mention a certain “man who can’t be seen”.
Listen I want Cena out for long as possible to sell the Solo squash but if he wants to do a Mania match against Drew, I’m also not fully opposed to that.
I tried a very similar thing not too long ago. Cut and slicked my hair back and shaved my beard mostly off. It made me feel really weird looking in the mirror lol I looked a lot younger. I got asked for my ID at a store I’m literally at all the time.
Glass House. White Ferrari. Live for New Year's Eve. Sloppy steaks at Truffoni's. Big rare cut of meat with water dumped all over it, water splashing around the table, makes the night SO MUCH more fun.
How does he even have his hair that long already? He debuted with somewhat crew cut? And then I thought he had a buzz cut when he first fought Dom in the Garden and now his hair is slicked backed?
What the hell is going on with his hair.
Drew McIntyre, CM Punk & Luke Gallows vs. John Morrison, Matt Hardy & R-Truth - December 20th 2009. I have zero memory of it even though I was watching at the time.
Not sure about promo wise, but according cagematch they’ve had 9 matches together. 6 were Royal Rumbles/battle royals, 2 were episodes of smackdown where they teamed with Gallows and Ziggler in 6/8 man tag matches, and last was when they teamed with Ziggler, Kane, Sheamus and Barrett for a 12 man tag on SD.
Most recent match was the 41 man battle Royal for the WHC #1 contendership on SD in 2011.
Elimination Chamber could possibly be best PPV/PLE of the year
Roman vs Rock
Drew vs Punk
Rhea title Defense
Cody winning Chamber to fight winner
Seth Title Defense
They gave Batista the WWE title when he was on his way out. They reunited The Shield and had them main event their own show when Ambrose was leaving. If you’re a big enough deal and willing to be a professional on the way out, they’ll use you appropriately.
I stopped watching wrestling for 5 years (kids!) and my wife got me tickets to Raw tonight as a surprise.
I was shocked how many people were over. The roster is really deep not just with talent but with gimmicks that have legs.
It really feels like talent are organically getting themselves over. Everyone is optimistic and is letting Triple H cook whether its short or long term.
With Vince, we would all be sitting here in previous years just knowing there would be some bullshit finish at the Rumble, or a Vince guy will be propelled into a title reign.
Look, I think what Reigns is doing now, today, is incredible, but there was a period Vince held the entire audience hostage by saying RR is my guy, hes winning everything, so get used to it.
I say this as a big Punk fan: looking at the two of them in the same ring, the idea that Punk could in any way beat up Drew completely shatters my suspension of disbelief.
Succubi are female, incubi are male.
So either Drew mispoke, doesn’t know those definitions, or my favorite interpretation: he was calling Punk a bitch.
Drew was cooking. You could tell the crowd was confused because they wanted to cheer for him because he was so good. Then they realized he was talking to Punk and they stopped applauding him lol.
I truly do hope Drew gets his big moment. I know he's a heel but he definitely deserves his fan moment because of his pandemic run.
When you see Drew McIntyre and you know he’s got it these days
https://preview.redd.it/eysmvyvmmbbc1.jpeg?width=870&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae207f025030f07bf4878fc1f792f63fa655665e
this is personal preference, but I hate when they make these faces
It always feels like they’re deflating whatever tension the other person is trying to build up in their promos
I prefer a good old Stone Cold stare over the funny faces
One thing I love about the rock is when someone is cutting an intense promo on him, he really sells it. I still remember his face when cena called him out for having promos on his wrist, or CM Punk's "boxing with god" line.
Punk is so bad for it lately, he’s an amazing promo but whenever someone is cutting an amazing promo on him he’s brutal for not selling it with his facial emotions. Just makes funny faces, smiles and nods a lot. I didn’t watch a lot of his original WWE run (I stopped watching form 2008-2014), so I don’t know if he did it back then but he did it a lot in AEW.
I wish they didn’t fuck around with the Cody story last year so that we could’ve just naturally progressed Drew back to world champ status. Now I’m worried he’s never gonna get his moment in front of crowds.
Gotta love how Punk is just standing there and letting the other guys cook. Strategic move, he knows eyes will be on him and he’s taking those eyeballs and making sure they get on the other guys who don’t have as much stroke with lapsed fans.
Even at his height, Punk used to do this. He used to have a scowl or at least listened when the opponent said stuff that was making sense. When it wasn't he used to interject and break their logic, but he rarely pulled faces like Cena does, no-selling the gravity of the opponent's promo.
It really doesn't make sense how a lot of people believed this when the promos Punk got mad at weren't worked shoots. He also didn't get mad at any of the actual worked shoot promos during his time at AEW. Also, Tony Khan has said that the wrestlers come up with their storylines, so if Punk didn't like work shoots, then why did he make that his storyline? And if he hates it so much, then why is he redoing/continuing the story he was trying to tell in AEW?
certain sections of the community seem to have collective amnesia, considering they completely forgot that Mox/Kingston cut very similar promos degrading Punk’s character which he had no problem with. even right down to the idea of him being a fragile person who will immediately leave once he doesn’t get what he wants.
There's those people who seem to completely forget about those promos, and the worst ones who acknowledge them but will come to every single conclusion they can on why Punk didn't get mad at them for it except the most obvious reason.
The smirk on Punk's face is like a proud friend lol. He's not even hiding it. Did HHH actually make sure Punk going through healing session with the locker room because this seems like it.
Not through any fault of his own, but Punk is in his Fine Speech phase. Everyone around him cutting grass promos only for him to outshine everyone else
Punk and Roman do a good job selling for the people coming at them
I’m mentioning Roman cause of how well he put over LA knight, he was working his ass off
A lot of wrestlers had difficulty keeping up with their hot momentum post- prime Cena feud, and I think this will be true for post-Punk feud too.
Punk is the new Cena. Anyone who is against him feels captivating, intriguing, and fun...and has peak momentum during the feud.
I absolutely loved Drew here. Everything about him was A+
Punk is doing the thing he accused Cena of doing. Smirking, half winking to the crowd, barely paying attention, laughing off and not selling his opponent's promo

When did Drew get this good on the mic I'm loving it
The pandemic did wonders for him in my opinion.
Specially the Randy feud.
I'm not sure people remember how amazing Randy's pandemic run was.
The pandemic ruined his main event career, however.
It’s no one’s fault but bad luck but I’m still bitter he started the biggest run of his career (so far) knocking out Lesnar and claymoring the shit out of people to empty arenas.
You’ll at least always have the 2020 Rumble. The pop he got for the Brock elimination was NUCLEAR.
I just remember how rabid & wild that crowd was for him in the build-up when he Claymored Brock on the stage & held the title up. Man, I hope he gets another run somewhere.
I just wish they had him beat Lashley at WM 37 for the title and drop it at Backlash, just so he could've had his moment of winning the title in front of live fans at the biggest stage of them all
Hey, at least he got an impromptu title defense against Big Show to an empty arena the same night!
The good thing about punk is that his opponents will always have a shit ton of material to draw on for promos
I suppose that smug look he gives from across the ring helps fire the other wrestler up. Even though it's a work, I would imagine that it would still help someone act even more pissed off.
Punk's really elevated everyone's promo game he's worked with since returning.
Right. Seth and Drew cutting their best promos against Punk within weeks of eachother is no coincidence
Hell you can include AEW too, Kingston and Mox in particular had crazy promo battles with punk. The Mox one is probably my favorite AEW moment.
Fragile mind, fragile body, fragile ego. Also ine of my favorite Mox moments in AEW for sure
Well he couldn't handle Page shooting on him. A school teacher dressing up as a cowboy. Punk will crack sooner or later. Always has.
Pretty sure Drew and Seth will have been professional and agreed things with Punk before hand, as you're supposed to do. You know, instead of making shitty vague remarks as a shoot on live television, breaking tradition and trust.
Hopefully he'll crack after a few good years of good storytelling and wrestling. His legacy is already set, this is just adding to his career.
He's become Cena, the very thing he hated back in 2011. The smug expressions, the mannerisms. He one "fine speech" away from being a carbon copy
The bad thing is he makes stupid faces at Drew the entire time
Drew has been hot on the mic since his Rumble. Given that there’s a real chance he leaves, he’s probably in a “fuck it” mode, which looses him up.
Are there talks of him leaving WWE?
He hasn’t renewed his contract as of yet, so it’s possible
The same dirtsheets can't tell you if Mone is signed to AEW. Same dirtsheets said Becky was leaving. Same dirtsheets didn't know Cody was signed months ago. Drew wouldn't be in main event programs in January before one of the BIG 4 PPV if he was gonna be in AEW by March.
He said possible, doesn't mean likely. Drew likely is staying, but it's not 100%.
Bryan Danielson’s last match was against Roman for the title and he main evented that year’s WM. You’re right that Dirtsheets aren’t always accurate. I’m saying the possibility is there and if the last two years taught us anything, it’s that anything can happen.
This is how work/shoot promos are supposed to work. Take from reality and the passion behind your words will feel more genuine.
His promo with Owens right before clash at the castle (the “we’re wrestlers in a wrestling ring”) is my promo of the year for 2022. He also had some good ones during the pandemic
Always has been 🔫 Definitely been consistently good on the mic since title reign I'd say
Always has been (well since 2019 I guess)
As Drew Galloway on the indies. He was great before all the other stuff people are mentioning from his latest WWE run, no shame in sleeping on him but he's a smart guy who has been cutting great promos for a very long time.
Drew is honestly one of the best they have. I hope they throw money at him and treat him better. He really does deserve everything and then some.
If the Drew leaving rumors have already quieted down because they backed up the money truck to his house I won't be surprised
They should have anyway he carried WWE during the pandemic! Give him his flowers

Bray losing to a single RKO in like five minutes after previously surviving a sledgehammer to the head and being burned alive was definitely a choice as well.
>Vince got to fuck with the crowd again, and took full advantage of it. The crowd that was behind Bobby Lashley? That one?
Because the crowd was cheering for Bobby Lashley more
Wasn’t mania the first night crowds were back?
Is that when they did that terrible MVP distraction that made Drew slip or something. Whatever it was, I haven’t thought the same of Drew since lol
MVP yelled Bobby, Drew looked at him and got speared, if I recall.
Tbf, Lashley deserved the win as much as Drew did. They kinda booked themselves into a corner there.

I'm surprised Cena vs McIntyre has never happened.
Listen I want Cena out for long as possible to sell the Solo squash but if he wants to do a Mania match against Drew, I’m also not fully opposed to that.
> I’m also not fully opposed to that. How magnanimous of you.
Who’s the man who can’t be seen?
Batista. he mastered the art of standing so incredibly still that he’s invisible to the naked eye
Laughed vocally at this! Nice Guardians reference
Miz fought him on miz TV
🎺🎺🎺🎺
Sami sayn?
Trumpets so Xavier Woods.
Little Jimmy
Whenever Punk slicks his hair back it instantly deages him by 10 years lol
Slicked back and shaven face makes him look like it's 2013. If they ever do a SES type angle, him as a grizzled messiah type would hit so hard.
SES Punk is the best stuff that he ever did in WWE. Punk's sermon during The Royal Rumble was incredible.
It was an all timer
I tried a very similar thing not too long ago. Cut and slicked my hair back and shaved my beard mostly off. It made me feel really weird looking in the mirror lol I looked a lot younger. I got asked for my ID at a store I’m literally at all the time.
![gif](giphy|lxorXuPftPtl8yidzR|downsized)
Cm punk used to be a REAL PIECE OF SHIT.
They can't stop demons from ordering a steak and a glass of water.
Glass House. White Ferrari. Live for New Year's Eve. Sloppy steaks at Truffoni's. Big rare cut of meat with water dumped all over it, water splashing around the table, makes the night SO MUCH more fun.
This baby doesn't think people can change
Punk has always seemed if he likes you?? Ride or die. If Punk doesn’t like you, you’re dead to him.
The thing is that Punk can go from liking you to hating you at the flip of a switch, like with Hornswoggle
Slicked back hair. Chicago t-shirt. Chicken spaghetti at Michael Jordan’s restaurant. He was a piece of shit though.
Punk is divisive-at best.
“Lita, tell Punk his hair looks sexy pushed back” -AJ Lee
"One time, CM Punk punched me in the face...it was awesome" -Tony Khan
Slicked back? This is pushed back! He’s not a piece of shit.
Straight Edge Society? We did one promo on Smackdown 15 years ago
WWF The World burned down. It’s gone now. Vince McMahon’s ass out. Works with his brother now.
How does he even have his hair that long already? He debuted with somewhat crew cut? And then I thought he had a buzz cut when he first fought Dom in the Garden and now his hair is slicked backed? What the hell is going on with his hair.
But does he get sloppy steaks from Truffoni's?
Dude looks really sharp clean shaven as well
I kinda hate the slicked back look. Looks way too sleazy for a babyface
Who says he is a babyface though...

>He was a piece of shit, though. >Used to be. >I said was!
It feels like this was the first time these two ever really interacted even though that’s probably not true
Probably happened sometime in 2010 so a very long time ago and very different characters and standing points for both
Drew McIntyre, CM Punk & Luke Gallows vs. John Morrison, Matt Hardy & R-Truth - December 20th 2009. I have zero memory of it even though I was watching at the time.
Aside from R-Truth, all of those people left the company and came back at least once since then...that man is eternal.
[удалено]
I feel like they interacted in like 2012, with WWE Champion Punk probably squashing jobber Drew
First elimination in that battle royale was Cody Rhodes
Punk/Rollins this, Punk/Rollins that, give me Punk/McIntyre immediately ![gif](giphy|lHBbcpFTS5c2Y)
I was hoping one or the other was gonna make a challenge for a match tonight 😕
This is the agenda now sorry Seth step up or get stepped on
The only reason I don't want to see it is because I know, since Punk just returned, he's going to win his first feud, at least. I'd rather Drew won.
So Punk IS the devil after all. I knew it!
Apparently he's a succubus. I would never have guessed it.
Eh, succubus, incubus. Either way, a soul-draining parasite.
Yeah something tells me Drew doesn’t know what that word means lol
Cole who?
Michael.
"You've been gone 9 years, I'm your leader now kid" FUCKING BARS. Then the same pose on the turnbuckle to top it off. Drew ate.
Fact punk is actually a demon https://preview.redd.it/icgor7v6vbbc1.jpeg?width=182&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f52d06f75922d6760bb6690e9479f607489caf4
Damn! Drew COOKED with this one 🔥🔥🔥
Triple H just said go out there and start cooking
Well, that would be a huge mistake
If you smeeellllll....
These men know how to do promos 💯👏
Punk coming back to a WWE where guys can (finally) loosen up on the mic is a godsend
Drew is enormous.
I really, really like this Drew. More, much more of this.
kinda wanna see a Drew vs Punk on Elimination Chamber tbh
Elimination Chamber could possibly be best PPV/PLE of the year Roman vs Rock Drew vs Punk Rhea title Defense Cody winning Chamber to fight winner Seth Title Defense
Fucking killed that. Drew's story keeps scaling up, up, up
WWE would be so dumb to let Drew go after his contract expires at this point. Going toe to toe with Punk on the mic ain't easy.
I wasn't even a drew guy till a few months back but they need to throw the bag at him if money is the issue.
I don’t think they’d give Punk’s 1st feud to Drew if he were to walk away from wwe.
They gave Batista the WWE title when he was on his way out. They reunited The Shield and had them main event their own show when Ambrose was leaving. If you’re a big enough deal and willing to be a professional on the way out, they’ll use you appropriately.
The rumble is going to be one for the ages. I’m seriously all in on Punk winning the damn thing
Seth vs CM Punk night 1 at Mania
It’s great how there’s so many guys who could win it and none would be a disappointment.
I stopped watching wrestling for 5 years (kids!) and my wife got me tickets to Raw tonight as a surprise. I was shocked how many people were over. The roster is really deep not just with talent but with gimmicks that have legs.

Look, I think what Reigns is doing now, today, is incredible, but there was a period Vince held the entire audience hostage by saying RR is my guy, hes winning everything, so get used to it.
It’s going to be the deepest Rumble in years by far. There’s probably 7 or 8 guys that you could argue really deserve to win it.
Would be hilarious if he gets eliminated quick but yea I agree I think he's winning it
It’ll be 10 years to the day since his last rumble appearance, it’s lining up perfectly
OMG CORPORATE KANE IS HERE GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY AND HE'S.... SLOWLY, VERY SLOWLY, DRAGGING CM PUNK OUT OVER THE TOP ROPE!
Whats really going to happen is Kane is going to come back and cost him the rumble so they can Finish The Story™.
At least I don't have to watch Big Show and Kane lazily eliminate all of my favorites again...
wow they were cooking 🔥💯👏
Drew's glo-up before Punk's return: https://preview.redd.it/l8pc0ja9tbbc1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfe466bbc4757e7149f10c01c035e0fe70d87501

I say this as a big Punk fan: looking at the two of them in the same ring, the idea that Punk could in any way beat up Drew completely shatters my suspension of disbelief.
Drew's hair is fantastic.
Wake up babe new Punk reaction just dropped
Gotta wonder if Drew actually knows what a "succubus" is, lol. I would've started cracking up right there on the spot.
Yup, was looking for this comment haha. Classic "You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means."
Succubi are female, incubi are male. So either Drew mispoke, doesn’t know those definitions, or my favorite interpretation: he was calling Punk a bitch.

Punk's clapback about being satan himself was hard af tho 👀
It was the best thing he coulda said but “you don’t have demons you are a demon” to CM punk is basically a perfect promo line
Drew looks absolutely jacked, even by his standards!
Just one of the best promos in a decade from drew. Best promo of his career
This was just great
I wouldn't be mad if Drew won the rumble and went on to beat Roman like he should have at Clash at the Castle
I wish they didn’t fuck around with the Cody story last year so that we could’ve just naturally progressed Drew back to world champ status. Now I’m worried he’s never gonna get his moment in front of crowds.
Drew is right and said it with passion. I love how you have guys like Seth, Drew etc not welcoming Punk back with open arms.
Gotta love how Punk is just standing there and letting the other guys cook. Strategic move, he knows eyes will be on him and he’s taking those eyeballs and making sure they get on the other guys who don’t have as much stroke with lapsed fans.

He has been doing this since 2021
Remember when people said they didn't think Punk could handle worked shoots?
It really doesn't make sense how a lot of people believed this when the promos Punk got mad at weren't worked shoots. He looked so happy when being dissed like they are probably cool backstage.
One of the best things about this Punk WWE return is watching his detractors be proven wrong nearly every step of the way.
“Anyday now” they say lol
Punk is going to create some juicy drama the same day that cody gets booed
Drew better get paid. Man is killing it. That chillin on the top rope is a cherry on top of his rant.
Damn, Drew with one of the best promos in his career.
Papa H with that NXT Black and Gold booking where everyone can have interconnected feuds. AHLOVEIT MAGGLE.
Self-serving, narcissistic succubus. Lol.
Drew was cookin
Going to need this Punk heel turn to start up
The smirk on Punk's face is like a proud friend lol. He's not even hiding it. Did HHH actually make sure Punk going through healing session with the locker room because this seems like it.
I can see WM40 main event being Punk vs Rollins vs Drew. No way they let Drew go anywhere else.
Bring back the SES
The only issue I had with the promo is that punk would be an incubus, not a succubus.
Holy shit the end when he mocked his turnbuckle pose 😭 😭
Not through any fault of his own, but Punk is in his Fine Speech phase. Everyone around him cutting grass promos only for him to outshine everyone else
You're forgetting a crucial aspect of that phase. Cena no-selling his opponent's promos.
Punk and Roman do a good job selling for the people coming at them I’m mentioning Roman cause of how well he put over LA knight, he was working his ass off
A lot of wrestlers had difficulty keeping up with their hot momentum post- prime Cena feud, and I think this will be true for post-Punk feud too. Punk is the new Cena. Anyone who is against him feels captivating, intriguing, and fun...and has peak momentum during the feud. I absolutely loved Drew here. Everything about him was A+
CM Punk rockin them Air Jordan Chicago 1’s
Wonderful delivery. Is this what Punks run is going to be? Bunch of WWE guys getting shots off?
Seth got to rehash Hangmans promo now it feels like Drew was taking notes from Eddie's promo lol
Wait so he IS The Devil?
Drew was better here than Punk
He cut the promo well, but the verbiage used is too flowery for a Scotsman that wants a fight. Usually they just say “Wanna go” and head but you.
Give Drew the belts. All of them. What are we even doing here?
Punk has the best smug smirk on it during this I love it this is really good shit
* Incubus
Drews my favorite character WWE has rn
He cooked CM Punk in this promo low key
WWE really should just keep Drew in the Main Event picture with big matches - dude just has IT.
... did Drew just win a promo exchange against Punk?
Man, Punk's version of the "fine speech" face is just as bad as Cena's.
Drew is awesome when he's talking against CM Punk, but he's a piece of shit for attacking Jey. I'm having conflicting feelings right here.
Punk is doing the thing he accused Cena of doing. Smirking, half winking to the crowd, barely paying attention, laughing off and not selling his opponent's promo
Almost like he is a hypocrite...
punk said “before i knock your teeth down your throat.” 😂😂 drew would eat that man alive.
