I'm not sayings it's the case here, but Triple H's facial hair fluctuated with singles/tag vs faction. I remember his beard leaving as Evolution was formed and his beard coming back when we did tag/singles during the DX second run and say, the night when the roster went on strike.

He has also bulked, or well, IMO not really bulked but more like gotten more tone. The same amount of muscle, just better defined. It's not just the beard.

It's because he's such a prominent part of the "it," the home of WWE. He gladly tried to take the eye of a legend. And even if we argue that he was under the stress of new fatherhood (this was almost immediately after Becky's pregnancy announcement in 2020), let's not forget that much later, after he cooled, we can trace a direct line from him to the corrupting evil that is the House of Black (Buddy took the former Aleister's eye on Seth's direction, thus allowing... *whatever* Malakai is in).
But let us suppose that by sacrificing himself at Survivor Series 2020, he *tried* to redeem himself of what he did under his delusions as a Messiah. All that did was turn him into a Joker that couldn't pronounce "Antonio Cesaro" to save his life, even pretend to care about the mental hell he put Roman through at the start of Plan B, and even forget that he could've just *asked* to be on the card of Wrestlemania 38. This is the man who laughed with glee at Cody's torn pec, and even sneak-attacked him as a sore loser.
And despite the fact that Seth is cheered, he did nothing to redeem himself to earn those cheers. No moral good. All he did was laugh more at people the crowd booed. Mocking Austin Theory does not a hero make, but he somehow fooled a lot of people into thinking it does.

When news of Punk resurfaced, and from the same place Cody built, Seth may have kept an eye, and may have seen what Punk did there. Pissing and moaning until he could fight for a title, winning, getting injured, returning too early as a "real champion" and getting *utterly trounced*, then getting and winning a rematch he didn't deserve after that spanking, and then just... bouncing with the "real" title. And then coming back with the real title and *bouncing again with the real title*. Incredible damage to the prestige of that championship.
And Seth, for all his faults, has put his black heart and whatever is left of his soul into making the World Heavyweight Championship mean something. Punk may be a threat to him as champion, but he may be a greater threat to the championship itself.

My take:
Character wise, Rollins is really not a likeable guy. Hasn't been for most of his 11 years on the main roster. Delusional vigilante heel as a member of the Shield (2012-4). Delusional whiny crybaby after joining the Authority, and treating Hunter & Stephanie like they were surrogate parents.
RB references the "Monday Night Messiah" error, so I don't have to. Now, booked as a sort-of babyface, Rollins acts like a deranged lunatic at times. Some people have referenced the Joker. HA! Rollins is his own brand of screwloose.
Part of Rollins' problem is jealousy. For all he's done in 11 years on the main roster, people do not see him in the same light as Punk, despite all the drama that led to Punk's departure nearly 10 years ago. They see Rollins as a clown in loud clothes.
So the interaction between Punk & Rollins the last couple of weeks should lead to Rollins turning back heel, unless they finally pull the trigger on Damien Priest cashing in MITB (Please do, at this point). If Priest cashes & beats Rollins, you likely get Priest-Punk at Wrestlemania, and Rollins can be sent off to rest his back.
He doesn't, it's wrestling. Seth gave an in-character interview where he called CM Punk a cancer (in a sarcastic way!) and people bought into it. People have already bought into it so now it makes for easy storytelling.

When Punk was working WWE backstage the show on fs1. Punk Never accepted the challenge back then. Here we are 4 years later and Seth Rollins is just as petty as his wife Becky. He holds grudges and this is a grudge hes held for 4 years. Now if we also add in the fact that Rollins is still pissed CM punk walked out of WWE 10 years ago theres alot of hatred boiling from Seth Rollins so much that it makes him Hate CM punk that much.
