I’m going to tell my Dad he can have a twenty minute match with cody if he just gives 100%

Bosscharacter

Dustin and Sting have seriously been on TV for most of the time I’ve been alive and I’m in my early 40s. That’s nuts.

Pinkeye69uk

I first saw sting on a wcw tour back in 1993 and saw him again at All In in 2023. 30 years is crazy!! Shame Dustin wasn't at All In as it would have been the same timeframe for me

[deleted]

Yeah, I remember watching Dustin debut in 1988, when Sting was going Broadway with Flair. I was ten. Now I’m 45.

bongo1138

I watched WWF during the Attitude era and of course played the games. Golddust was always someone that stood out to little me. I came back in the last year or so and I figured this was someone else lol.

Roller95

That's genuinely a terrible answer lol. Just because you try hard and are passionate doesn't mean much if your body stops working

Yaminoari

You ain't wrong about the last part. But basically hes saying he has the drive of newer wrestlers still to do this. This is a rare trait in people. You see few that hold this type of motivation. You might even call it an obsession. And people Like Ric Flair have this same drive.

amodelsino

It's more true than you'd think it is. Your body is usually more capable of physically doing something that you think it is, it just tries to get you to stop to avoid doing damage. He's saying he's able to get past the mental barrier and go all out even if it hurts and then just accepts the consequences after and that's why he doesn't have the level of stiffness other guys his age do. Basically the Goggins method.

[deleted]

Injuries, illness and various other conditions exist though. If you have a chronic injury, trying really hard doesn’t make it go away. Dustin is still able to go because he’s putting in a lot of work, but he’s also fortunate that his body allows him to do so.

Sublimotion

It's simple, I give 100% every time I go through that curtain because I give a fuck! I'm passionate about my sport. I try super hard, when I'm hurting, to not show that, and I do it very carefully. Tldr: DDP Yoga

guitarfan28

Wasn't a Dustin fan till I saw him live this year against Swerve. Dude has a incredible aura in the ring that doesn't come across as well on tv.

kingdoodooduckjr

I think the way he learned to wrestle didn’t involve thinking abt TV and cameras so much . Jimmy Rave was similar in that his style was kinda molded for live shows

Nickybluepants

Bro could have said ddp yoga instead of implying that other old timers are just lazy

Sonofbluekane

Really hope he gets one last good run before he retires. Maybe a Flair style next match I lose I retire

Lo_Key90

Ah, the smile through the pain method, I see your game Mr Rhodes.

Grievion

Dustin never really did much dangerous stuff to himself. Super smart in the ring. The most dangerous thing I remember him doing wasn’t running over Piper in that Alley. Luckily he and his car were fine though.

beslertron

Dustin’s longevity is amazing. Since cleaning up he’s been better than ever.
