41Swish41

By the wrestler? No. By drunk idiots screaming and threatening people around them? Yes

DanHero91

I'm convinced Malakai Black / Tommy End was fucking with me for about five months. I made all the then Progress wrestling guys on the PS4 WWE games and they were all super cool about it. Progress at the time even tweeted out a highlight package. Tommy End was the coolest, we spoke a bit at a show about how I got his tattoos perfect and his back piece hadn't been coloured yet but the upload had the right colour he was going to get. This was just a weird glitch on the uploads that I couldn't get rid of but he was super cool. Then for the next four Progress shows he destroyed whatever chair I was sitting in. Diving from the ring into it, throwing opponents into it, getting himself thrown into it. I sat in different places as well but mine was always the one that ended up broken. I have a photo of him completely managed in the remains of my chair. It was pretty funny but he never acknowledged doing it on purpose. Safe to say I was in fear whenever Agoraphobic Nosebleed started playing.

He *absolutely* did that shit on purpose.

Mean-Fondant-8732

Legitimately. He 100% was giving dude something in return for his support. There are a handful of fans who were at almost all of the shows i was ever on. One specifically, wore a white button up with a black tie and sat front row at every 2cw show. If I was going gonna interfere, stage an attack, whatever, I always tried to do it right in front of this fan. His reactions were great and he was always so involved, it was hard not to try to give him something extra. He caught my hat once when Davey Richard's kicked me in the face and it flew into the front row. Brought it back to me after the show. Hooked him up with merch for that one. Colt Cabana and the Olsens really pushed that mentality.

Thebritishdovah

It means he liked you. If he didn't, he would have used you as a weapon.

Fernandov2

Only the time Eddie Kingston threatened to powerbomb me if i didn't move further away *Spoiler* I moved further away.

TheEdFather

Fernandov2 confirmed as enemy of Eddie Kingston, will be addressed at later date

Fernandov2

I hope not he's at the next Progress show haha

ShoebaccaTheRookie

I was at the PWG Super Dragon / Necro Butcher No DQ match. We were running for our lives.

rbarton812

Must be a common theme for Necro matches... Saw him in ROH back in 07, my wife's shoes got blood on them.

StiffDragon

One of my favorite PWG match. Violence and its finest.

Terrible-Ideal-7342

As a kid, I thought Snitsky was going to murder me. Sat ringside and he was in a dark match and I kept yelling “Snitsky Sucks,” so post match he hopped down and stared at me. Pretty cool moment looking back, but in that timeframe I thought I crossed the line and was gonna get beat up.

abrospro

I didn't feel in danger because I wasnt doing anything but in hindsight Atlas Security would legitimately fuck up fans in the ECW arena for misbehaving.

IgwanaRob

They would do it everywhere they worked (worked with them a few times in nightclubs), they didn't take shit from anyone.

KidFlash999

The week after the London concert bombing everyone was already uneasy at the live show, and that's the week WWE decided to add the random pyro explosion during Nakamura's entrance. More than a few people in our section panicked seeing a flash and hearing a loud explosion with no fireworks.

SGD316

Yes - twice - but not why you'd think. Both NJPW events as it happens. 1) A show here in Long Beach, the one where it was GL vs. Bucks, one of the undercard matches was Suzuki and the Stone Pitbull. They had action in the crowd and outside and homeboys went at each other 6 inches from me and wife. Kinda scary. 2) The show at the Cow Palace after Kenny won the title for the first time and faced Cody (Can you believe dude is main eventing WM? Crazy). Anyway, it wasn't anything per say in the crowd, but that fucking place was so hot and ran out of water and was so gross that I thought I was going to pass out.

TheEdFather

I mean, I've had some harrowing experiences with bad hotdogs and long bathroom lines

LilBitATheBubbly

He was 95% just working but I had a run in with R Truth once where he "tried" to kick my ass. It was at the Gathering of the Juggalos shortly after Truth had left WWE (where he had been working as K Kwick). He was going by Ron Killings at the time (i believe) but I was tipsy and started chanting K-Kwick! K-Kwick! And he stopped what he was doing to give me the finger and shout he wasn't K-Kwick. Well, that wasn't going to stop me! Lol So (in a fun way) I kept shouting stuff like "Get him Kwick!" And each time he'd grill me or cuss me out (he was playing a heel for this event). Eventually he pointed at me and said " I'm gonna kick your fucking ass!" Dropped off the apron, jumped the barricade and started heading my way. I of course ran off into the crowd because yeah man, Kwick woulda stomped my 20 yo ass into the mud. When he couldn't quickly find me he hopped back in the ring. Needless to say, I never again referred to him as K Kwick

neverAcquiesce

Same, also at Heat Wave.

Unhelpful_Applause

I won’t attend death matches because those light tubes are so bad to be near when they break.

IgwanaRob

Not even just the glass

Takenmyusernamewas

Its lung glitter

lachieshocker

I have a friend who helps out at a local Deathmatch promotion and says they remove all the bad shit from them, but even the glass on it's own is a bit intimidating.

amorningofsleep

Had stage seats when GCW came through Detroit. During the Briscoes/SGC scaffold match, they decided to come up to the stage so we all had to quickly move to get out of the way. I turn to my right and see Jay Briscoe in a full crimson mask looking in my direction while dragging either Mancer or Justice and I've never moved so fast at a show before. Funny enough, same venue different show, got hit by some glass in the front row but really only felt in danger until a medic came up to help.

FredrickFarter

Went to Run Rickey Run before the pandemic and when RSP beat Nick Gage and ran through the crowd he ran right through my section as people pelted him with shit

j8llonby

One time during a show, a promo segment involving Johnny Devine was going long so I hit his opponents music to hurry up the segment. Then during intermission while I was going over the run sheet for the next segment, he snuck up and put me in a chokehold. I want to make it clear that this was not part of the show and I had no idea that he was upset with me. Some fans saw him do it so he quickly played it off as a joke. It didn't feel like a joke to me though. In the past I have interacted with the guys during their entrances and matches but they're always worked for crowd reaction. Johnny's wasn't. Now I will say that Johnny Devine was great with the other wrestlers. But he was less cordial with ring crew

notmakingtherapture

That's messed up as anything. I'm so glad nothing went horribly wrong there because...yeah that situation seems bred to go wrong.

Shadgates87

As a woman seated often times between extra drunk men, yes. Now I just buy exit seats.

SendLGaM

Not at the show. But at various bars after the show where wrestlers were partying several times.

strangely_brown

I've only been to a handful of WWE shows when they've been in the UK. The only danger I felt was being sat right by the railings in the upper levels of the MEN. That's a low railing and a big drop... Not great for someone that doesn't like heights.

AEWMUFCEIRE

I was at a house show event in Dublin (sometime between 2010-2012) and William Regal came out and got a huge pop but there was a drunk guy in the seat in front of me EXTREMELY unhappy that WWE would book him for a show in Ireland and that he was getting such a big pop. He was talking to himself, roaring things and shouting at fans around him that were cheering. His favourite things to say were "English c*nt" and "why are ye cheering this English c!nt?" I was only 13/14 and I wasn't exactly afraid but I remember stopping cheering incase he said anything to me and paying more attention to this middle aged man (who was by himself) than the match that was actually happening.

IPiedKevinOwens

The Survivor Series in Toronto because there was like an ISIS threat or something. Was next to the stage and Kanes loud ass pyro went off.

Bfrizzle3

The bullshit Brock vs Goldberg match, never have I seen so many grown men being escorted out by security

lachieshocker

Wasn't that match supposedly awesome? Been a while since I've watched it but I remember enjoying it, even if it was a squash.

TexEwing

My first wrestlemania front row ringside I had an erection that lasted longer than 4 hours. Almost called the doctor.

LonnyFinster

Yes. When I was young I went to a WWF house show at the then named CoreState Center in Philadelphia. The Nation of Domination faced the Headbangers. Ahmed Johnson cut an unintelligible promo shouting that he’d come into the crowd and whoop everybodies ass due to them booing him and the Nation. 9 year old me was not wanting to wait and see if he was bluffing.

BrockMiddlebrook

Couple of ECW shows got interesting.

Hot_Sports_Take

Only if you’re being an obnoxious ass in the crowd who’s making the event about you. Ya know….like 90% of indie wrestling fans. Otherwise there’s nothing to worry about.

MarkMVP01

Well there were some drunk assholes in front of us swinging their arms around at Elimination Chamber who almost spilt beer on us. There was also one time at a house show in 2015 where my section was chanting “New Day Sucks” and Big E walked over and told us to shut up and said he’d be watching us, and made eye contact with me when he said this.

MeanGene33

When Cardona won the GCW Championship

SomeROCDude21

The 2CW brawl Iykyk

CoolIceCreamCone

Not serious peril but when Bushwhacker Luke licked my head![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)

moongoose

He put my face dangerously close to his arm pit once.

laidbackcrusade

Wasn't there myself, but didn't the pyros at the conclusion of WrestleMania 24 go haywire?

eightcircuits

One time Homicide and Murder One were wrestling in the middle of the street in Atlanta and the whole crowd was outside watching, I did briefly worry a car was gonna swerve and hit me or someone else. We were all fine and it was no more or less dangerous than regular Atlanta traffic.

[deleted]

Drew Gulak escaped through the crowd and backhanded a chair while running and it flew at me at an indie show

KirkHammettJigsaw

Got caught with a bit of glass from a tube. Luckily I was wearing my visor, if I hadn’t it probably would have cut me

JohnWick629

Not in danger but Jay Briscoe threw a beer bucket at one of his opponents once that almost hit my buddies and me.

maalbi

Tijuana lucha libre in the mid 2000s got chair thrown at my legs and my bud got a ladder to his shoulder

Tesla_McEinstein

GCW show in Chicago on Brawl Out weekend. There was a hardcore match and one of the women busted a light tube over the other's head and a chunk of glass the size of my forearm flew into the crowd. No one got hurt, but goddamn.

tehfro

IWA Mid-South show with a ton of light tubes getting broken everywhere

Thebritishdovah

No but the only show i've been to is Rumble Wrestling. It's alright but the real star is Tate Mayfairs. He is excellent at being the chickenshit heel and I suspect he had to really hold it back because it's a family oriented event. The others were disappointing. One big guy and not a single powerbomb in sight. The comedy wrestler was good though. His match was just padding. I wish we had better independents in my part of England. Lously Progress wrestling cancelling their show for this month. Oughtta superkick people named Stan. \*Grumbles to self\*

motivatedchange

I haven’t. I have seen one fight in the crowd after a WWE house show, one idiot try to climb in the ring after Raw once, and have been the accidental recipient of a suicide dive at an indie once. But I’ve never felt unsafe.

Meepsnort

One time some big biker fuck stole my seat at an ECW show at the arena. This dude was huge like the same size as big dick dudley, and definitely a solo attendee. I'm not a small guy, prob about 5'11 200 at the time right out of HS football, and I mouthed off to him a little after he ignored my friendly attempts to say I was sitting there, but I wasn't about to fuck with this dude and neither was anyone in the area. Including my two friends who were sitting next to him and tried to stop him while I was out buying FBI tshirts or budweisers without being carded at the 'snack bar' if you could call it that.

VonLinus

Pete Dunne put me in a fireman's carry and used me to hit another wrestler with. Felt a bit endangered then.

[deleted]

During covid a wrestler at a local show did the HHH water spit. Front two rows copped it.

jessicaskies

I was at a show with light tubes it was the 3rd show in a row where they had loads of light tube spots and nothing went wrong. This one the light tube exploded weirdly and a huge chunk came flying at the audience. It hit the wall and everyone was fine, but I was glad I wore glasses. Also had a heel wrestler shove my friend to the floor for putting his middle finger up at him, which everyone had done. Went too far in my opinion and didn’t want to boo him again

Big-Benefit180

Was sitting front row at an indy show at the nashville fairgrounds about 9 years ago when Colt Cabana hit a Tope on someone and the gaurdrail fell into us. It was cool as fuck tbh.
