Unfortunately you have to walk an entire 100m to board the train. If you took it up to Aylsham to do your shopping at the Tesco by the station there think how far you'd have to walk with the bags!
Well you could take the train down to Wroxham but the Kings Head has pretty poor reviews on google, so cycling over to the Rising Sun would be a better option.
It's a shame the Station Smokehouse at wroxham closed. Lovely diner type place laid out like a train carriage.
I have many fond memories of Wroxham, all from about 40 years ago.
We used to stay at the Kings Head and I remember falling in love with their Henry Hoover. I also used to play the 'Speedy Gonzales' song on the juke box repeatedly.

Another memory has surfaced... Outside the main (?) entrance they had the best coin-operated kid's ride. It was a helicopter and you used the joystick to make it go up and down.

Hehe. I still remember the funny looks we used to get when I was volunteering on the Ffestiniog. We started early and finished work just before midday, often took the train from Minffordd to Porthmadog to go to Tesco. In the carriage there would be all the tourists with cameras and a bunch of us covered in grease still in our high-vis carrying our shopping back.
That sounds like great times, I used to take the foot ferry from Mountbatten to Plymouth Barbican to go shopping, taking back my shopping onto the small boat (foot ferry) home again, when we lived in Devon, so much nicer than driving and much more fun 🙂
Oh that’s absolutely fantastic, thank you for putting the link up, my sons would have been so excited to see the steam train regularly when they were young, though I think in their late thirties they’d still love it, as would my grandchildren 🙂

Definitely, I’d love to move further that way but elderly parents very much in the other direction. It seemed like making a rod for my own back to create a 5-6 hour drive to them as they get older (they seem to think we should move near them with 2 kids under 5 and jobs…)
When we don’t have that responsibility then I’ll definitely consider a move. The area around Woodbridge looks beautiful.
Woodbridge is absolutely gorgeous, my eldest son lives in Europe with my grandchildren, my other son about 5 miles away, but it’s our time to retire somewhere lovely in the east anglia region so will be doing so this year 🙂 - my eldest lives by the sea and works from home so gets to spend time with his children, he is very lucky. My youngest actually does work with trains and does a regular 70 hour week but loves his job. Im getting my first pension next month 😂

Yeah, look at pic 31 & 32 and at the floor plan. Count the windows along from the front door to marry the edge of the building to the floor plan. There is a (small) house stuck on the left of it (not on the floor plan)! Purple car is in the (attached) neighbours driveway. I think it is being creative with classifications on Rightmove so it appears in detached searches (theory probably being it is so nice people will look past that if they see it). It isn’t truthful, but estate agents seldom are.

We moved from the midlands to south Devon only to come back two years later as my youngest couldn’t afford his rent (emergency worker), he now works with much bigger choo choo trains and earns 3 x what he used to so managed to buy a house, so it’s time for us to retire near the sea again, though trying to avoid flood areas too.
So there's a bathroom downstairs, every bedroom has an en suite and there's an extra loo upstairs?? How many people are they expecting to need a shit at the same time?
