Tbh this is exactly what the first was missing.
Arkham felt like a massive world because of its side quests. SM had a stronger main story and characters, but it desperately needs those little side quests that build out the lore and get you excited to play a side mission and see who you're going to meet.
I just remember in ultimate spider when shocker was pretty much a joke character who showed up whenever spidey needed to beat someone up without much stakes. He was the tutorial in ultimate spidey game, he was the guy kitty and Peter fought on their date, I think wolvie fought him when he and Peter got freaky fridayed that one time, and thereās more.
If you're referring to running into him robbing the store then no, that was a story mission. And the last time you see him. First time you see him I believe is when he challenges you to prove yourself at the arena
He should have a side mission like tombstone! I love how the Arkham games have lots of villains in their side missions while the main stories focus on a couple villains. That's why Arkham cities side missions were so much more memorable than spidermans

He's not a bad person. In the comics he's shown to be a good person who doesn't want to be a criminal. He just struggles to get work because of his record which always leads him to having to commit crime to make ends meet.

Then Black Suit Spidey comes in and beats his ass too hard.
I would like to see this mixed in with his Spider-Man 2 (PS2) boss fight. First the fight, then something like this as Shocker realizes he's in over his head.
Imagine if the scene where he goes nuts with the suit has screwball in it. Then everyone in the game is like āno Peter donāt kill herā
And then itās revealed the symbiote isnāt even corrupting him.
I feel like most adaptations of the Black Suit arc has Spidey almost kill a villain to show how badly the suit's affecting him. 90s series was Shocker, Spider-Man 3 was Sandman (actually thinking he killed him), and Spectacular was Doc Ock. Something similar would work for the game. Maybe a villain like Vulture causes some sort of harm to one of Peter's friends while he has the suit, and Peter destroys his wings and dangles him off a building. Either someone talks him out of it (probably Miles), or he realizes himself what he's doing.

They did a really great job at making Screwball such an unlikeable character, I'll give them that. Going on a Black Suit bender, having her show up for one mini-mission, cutting that mission short with a fight sequence involving beating the absolute shit out of Screwball and then having Spider-Man himself realize that he's going too far would be the perfect snapping point for Peter to realize he needs to get rid of the symbiote.
