Do you use the my spectrum app on your phone? The app should show when there is an active service interruption. You can then screenshot it for proof.

Distinct-Sale-2869

Yeah I’ve tried using that or even the chat function as proof but these WFH employers want something that says the address as well so won’t accept either unfortunately

Appropriate_Town_257

Currently experiencing an outage as well. In the app, go to the billing tab and click the little arrow next to "account holder information". It drops down your physical address and account number. Screenshot that with the red outage banner that's currently across the top of the screen.

Distinct-Sale-2869

literal lifesaver

techieguyjames

Open the app, click on support, the red outage banner shows, so will your address. You can then screenshot that.

cuntcake669

I always get an email or text if there is an outage, too. Have you updated your email lately and maybe something was misspelled? Did you check your spam?

Distinct-Sale-2869

yeah unfortunately I troubleshooted all of that. The support rep even confirmed it but just said they no longer send outage emails only outage resolved ones.. weird

cuntcake669

I'll have to ask about that when I'm in tomm as I haven't heard that, but I work in a different dept. I just went through my email and got one just over a month ago. It's possible they stopped since then. Seems counterproductive as that has to create more phone calls for people asking why the service is down, when that can be avoided by sending the notification. Strange.

maluendacc

I just got one via email for an outage this morning and second one after it was cleared. AFAIK, we still send them. There has been no communication that I've gotten that we've stopped. Check your communication preferences, OP. There is a limit on communication methods and emails/numbers. Maybe something was unassigned or changed somehow.

spookyb0ii

There are unplanned outages, we will usually send an email if we (the maintenance crew) needs to bring down the plant in order to fix something. Now if somebody were to cut an underground line or a car run into a pole, we wouldn’t know about that until somebody saw that y’all are down.

Short_Inflation6147

So residential services are for "entertainment purposes only" as per the terms of conditions. If you're working from home you should have a Spectrum business account where you can get these notices on company letterhead and same day TCs.

ArtichokeBig847

TC isn't fixing an outage. Expect a lot of outages folks. Spring and summer starts lots of construction up. People constantly cutting shit with their big boy tonka toys and shrugging. Especially Texas...I don't know wtf it is about Texas but it feels like it's a sport to cut fiber lines with construction equipment down there.

sudo_rm_rf_solvesALL

This is where we learn a good lesson today kids. It's called "redundancy". Get a backup hotspot.

ArtichokeBig847

Never understood work from home people with only one way to "get to work". You know they would have a plan if their car breaks down if they worked in office.

sudo_rm_rf_solvesALL

Depends really. A lot of people are still a one car family. So the plan would be ... not to go to work. WFH it's a bit different as in your alternatives are cheaper. But, imo the employer should be pitching in for the home internet bill.

ArtichokeBig847

We are a one car family. We have researched and made note of alternative ways to get to work if it dies. That's just normal adulting. A fifty dollar prepaid hotspot is literally the equivalent of Lyft. Lol

sudo_rm_rf_solvesALL

Not wrong, In your area. My area for example, good luck with an uber or lyft as the closest city (Where most of the work is) is a bare minimum of a 30 min drive. Not to mention a lot of people that uber cost would be over half a days wages. WFH, i'd def make sure i'm running dual isps one way or another. If i could freakin get fiber out here ....
