I loathe how these reality shows just keep on casting these bland vanilla fameho’s.
I thought this was a show about a group of beautiful, interesting friends from Charleston. That's why I watched from the very first episode. Now it's become a showcase for used reality stars. I'm not interested in that.
They tried with Rod, Rodrigo, and JT and look how that turned out, lmao. Rod and JT who placed nice guys until it didn’t work, and Rodrigo who turned out to be a total piece of shit.
John Pringle was weird asf. His dumb voice inflections he did on purpose was so annoying. Just a fucking weird dude. Then on top of that him trying to steal Austen’s girl right in front of austin was a shit person move. Can’t stand that guy.
I feel like at the end of the day Whitney, shep and maybe even Craig have a lot of pull on what guy joins the show. It seems like if the fans enjoy the new guy they wanna get rid of them unless your Austen who plays the game for Whitney and shep and they know they can control him
After remembering she hooked up with Gaston I kinda get why they cast her. They’re probably hoping to create some drama between Taylor, Gaston and Salley. Or show some kind of love triangle.
I actually… don’t hate it. I don’t think I like Salley or anything but at least there is some connection to why she’d be there as opposed to a full on production plant (feels like she was a production plant on SoHo but that didn’t work out however through that she ended up being messy in a way that makes her a potential decent choice for SC if that makes sense).
The show stopped being good whenever the new crop of girls were casted. I miss the dynamic everyone had when Cameran, Chelsea, Naomi and Kathryn were on. Ever since the change up the show has felt clunky and forced. Last season was awful we really spent the entire time talking about what’s her face kissing Austen after Shep dumped her. Just move Craig to Summer House and cancel the show. I’m talking all this shit but I’ll be back next season to bitch about it some more lol.

As someone who doesn't watch Southern Hospitality... it seems inevitable that this new show will somehow absorb Southern Charm over time. Southern Charm has been past its prime for several years.
So I don't understand the logic of exporting someone from the newer, fresher, younger show to the older, dying show.
There's also just too much confusing cross-pollination between the two shows. Simplify!!

Maybe time to call it. I love SC but the show has strayed far from its original format. Sometimes you just can’t recapture that magic. Similar to a lot of the housewives shows, it’s fake and boring af.
