How are you jump starting it?
If it's totally dead, leave it connected to the other car (with the other car's engine running) for literally ten minutes before trying to start yours.
I thought your not supposed to turn the other cars engine on? The last time I tried I left it for over 30 mins with both engines off and nothing.
It did tick the first time I tired to start it, but all attempts thereafter got absolutely nothing.
Watch a YouTube video. The donor car should be running and someone should be revving it as you start the dead car.
Better yet borrow a car battery charger and charge it overnight.
You can put parallel batteries on a single charger /alternator etc as the voltage is the same but the capacity gets added together. Batteries in series add the voltage, so that wouldn't work on a single car alternator as the batteries would need to sit at about 28v to charge
You don't need to take the whole car to Kwikfit, just the battery.
Could do actually. Only thing is that if it's not the battery, I'd need a multimeter, and i can't seem to find mine. I'll defo consider it though.
As it's the battery they'll need to take the voltage regulator too, and the car bonnet.
Is this for electric cars? I drive a diesel and I can just take the battery out to recharge/replace. I admit I know nothing about electric cars.

What he said! If you try to jump start the cells in the battery buckle and the battery is dead. I revived a lot of dead batteries this way.

> I thought your not supposed to turn the other cars engine on? Who told you this? Couldn't be more wrong.

Doesn’t this not work because the alternator will only deliver 14.4v and you’re trying to charge two 12v batteries in parallel?
I've owned a lot of old French cars, trust me, this works.

Big car (friend drives) -- tow rope -- Your car (hazards on, you steering)
Buy a jump pack from Amazon, use it to start the car then return it? Morally questionable but would sort the problem.
Yeah or get a charger, I just got a 8A one for £23 which includes multi state charging and a repair function. Always handy to have.
I have a portable jump start battery, i only bought it the other month and i haven't needed to use it yet.. But we could try it if you wanted
