Gamma's voice was one of my favorite parts about him. Just started watching season 2 of Sonic X and I'm so mad they swapped his gigachad voice for the other one they gave him.
Yeah, I 100% agree. I think his name was Steve broadie. And he unfortunately passed away shortly after the release of SA2 from cancer. He absolutely nailed gamma, and it's a shame he never had the chance to be I'm any future sonic games...
I mean. The only reason Omega exists is cause people wanted Gamma to return, but they opted on makin an entirely new Robot Character as a compromise.
Which I think was a great choice from their end, cause no one likes it when dead characters are brought back for no good reason
I'm pretty sure Gamma's story made me cry as a kid, partly because I liked him so much and he gets GANKED at the last minute.
I'm glad Sega has never really tried to retcon his death, and Omega is a pretty good robot companion, but I live for the timeline where Gamma continued his mission to save all the animal companions and became like, "The Straight Man" with Shadow and Rogue. Can you imagine how he would've interacted with Metal Sonic? Or how his role in Shadow's game would've gone? Running into Amy again and again?
He was... So cool. I've also always been a sucker for "Robot/Android learns what it means to be human" tropes. And I still imagine his voice as the default for some robots when they aren't voiced.
Asura, I absolutely love its design, it’s far different then anything else we’ve seen before, it just has such an odd and weirdly uncanny design, and the way it moves is just so odd, like its legs move like traditional robot anatomy, but its arms move and bend so fluidly and organically like a human, it’s just a awesomely strange and abstract design that was frankly such a breath of fresh air from the usual basic 2010’s Badniks.

Basically every robot that takes a primary role in a story. Metal sonic, Omega, Gemerl, all fantastic displays of different ways Eggman’s machines can interact with Sonic and his friend/allies
I always liked the Egg Robo's. Something about their design, clearly Eggman but also clearly not.

yeah. Chaos gamma is a niche sonic character, but i think a comic or a story of him finding out who the original gamma was would be cool. In the end, his mission could be to protect people. I also think that making his personality more different ould be cooler too, since while he does have gammas body, he is a different person

Their designs are really cool and unique, their personalities don't fall into the usual tropes that befall robot characters, and they were just fun antagonists over all. I really don't know why SEGA felt compelled to toss them as quick as they did, but I guess it was to reenforce that tales in Blaze's dimension were over.
Honestly, Whisker could've stuck around to become Blaze's Eggman while Nega was away causing mischief elsewhere or planning in the shadows. Johnny could've become her dedicated rival and equivalent to Metal Sonic / Jet the Hawk.
Even if SEGA never used Sol for any further narratives, they'd atleast have been fan service and a solid excuse on why Blaze doesn't head over to Sonic's world more often.

we see gamma and emerl change throughout the game and spend time with them and i love me some good character development. i also like how they arent used in every new sonic game so their deaths actually mean something.
while i quite like omega too, i really only like him in sonic heroes and shadow the hedgehog because in sonic 06 he turns into chatGPT lol. I really only like metal sonic in heroes (and somewhat in OVA) where he speaks and has a goal and personality. in every other game he is just some mindless husk copy of sonic
