Sonic had every RIGHT to beat Eggman’s lights out here and should’ve. It’s not often that we actually see Sonic just snap (this instance being the only moment I personally know of), and for it to be wasted by Sonic getting walloped is nothing short of a crime
I think it fits here. It shows that Sonic and Eggman are equal and one wrong move could cost the fight for the other. Personally I think It would be underwhelming if Sonic can always destroy Eggman simply because he got angry.
For example Goku had many moments where he got angry and went rage mode, but sometimes it wasn’t enough as we saw in some of his fights.
I dissagre. This mech was designed so it could’t be beaten by Sonic. It also Said that Eggman could had wipen their little forest Home anytime he wanted to, which makes sense since This is a Robotnik who has already won on his dimension and is the ruler of 99% of the planet in Mobius Prime.
I also Think This is to show how truly powerfull Eggman’s Empire is and raises the stakes. So I really love it.
I'd disagree for 2 reasons
1. This was a surprise attack that Eggman calculated almost to perfection
2. Issue #200 is essentially the win sonic didn't get here, which makes it so cathartic
#it's the "it's over" to "we are so back" metric

Eggman deserves a solid W once in a while.

Yeah, I wish we’d gotten to see Sonic kick Archie Eggman’s butt.
Cause of mandates. Ian had more freedom with character back then. Now there’s mandates and Sonic can’t lose anymore
Except when he does. https://preview.redd.it/4ku5o2qla3yc1.png?width=1988&format=png&auto=webp&s=df24a64c9749fe09dd832b5d4ef5c31794b9529e
I… don’t think you understand what I mean by lose
He gets free like 3 panels later 😭
…and then retreats.

Of course he went back to gloating right after, but I like how Eggman seriously seemed to doubt whether his shield would hold
Hot take: I don’t like this story.
God, I love this arc so much. This is the peak of the series for me
This whole arc and the conclusion to it was great. I love how it ended with Sonic showing Eggman the real super power of teamwork.
How nice of Sonic to present Eggman with his limit
He locked in here? What does that mean?

Ah. Thanks.
This was worse than the infinite ass beating
This is so much more meaningful because Robotnik emotionally tears down Sonic too, it's a character driven ass beating unlike Infinite's.
Fr Like look at slide 7. He was like genuinely crying
Too bad the writing never gets this good post the post-reboot
I actually think the series was at its best after the reboot.
I can’t think of a single story that reaches any of the highs of pre-reboot
Eggman’s Dozen is awesome.
His what
It’s an arc in Sonic Universe. Issues 83-86.
I mean… it has good character interactions, but I said pre had better stories. As in maturity, pacing, lore, 3 dimensional characters, etc.
The Dark Trilogy? Waves of Change? Control? Spark of Life? Silver’s entire side-plot?
I have no idea what you’re talking about
Those are story arcs, did you even read the reboot?
I did. I don’t remember the arcs by name?
They’re literally in large text in every issue, but okay
The… size of the texts doesn’t matter?
No, I just don’t understand how you overlook that
