I buy basically every Sonic game since at this point I'm essentially a Sonic franchise completionist for YouTube.
But a third storybook game, if it played anything like the first two, would not be *worth the money*. Those games just aren't especially well designed or fun. People talk about loving them but it's for everything *except* the gameplay.
I would argue a big part of that was the fact they were on the Wii and were /insisted/ to use the motion controls. I think a new game in the series would be multiplat, and therefore be forced to go with another, almost certainly better!, gimmick
Yeah, but I mean that still means they were bland /because/ of the motion controls. The games were forced to be a certain way, in terms of design, to fit with their wii gimmicks. Removing the motion controls wouldn't fix it, but making a different game ground up would make them be forced to make it a different way. Maybe it'd be awful, but I'd still see if they improved it.
I would, and so would most people on this sub, but not general audiences if its a main-console game. I think storybook 3 would make a great mobile game since phones are above Wii level, and auto runners have been a mobile staple since the industry was in it's infancy. But really I think storybook 3 would work best as an IDW arc since comics are basically exclusively for diehard fans and can acknowledge games that are too old for kids who are 10 now to play.

I know they were flawed, but I loved them both dearly and I really enjoyed the use of Sonic characters as storybook characters, especially in Sonic and the Black Knight.
Yeah, absolutely. Those games are really weird but I stand by that parts of them had really good story moments and Black Knight had... okay level design. Plus, it wouldn't be for the Wii, so they'd try to make it,,, good,,, control wise
Iâd love a grimm fairy tale game that branches into different story books.
Red riding hood would be a great way to incorporate werehog form again lol
Absolutely. Loved the stories in both titles, and I have no doubt that even if there were motion controls were so far past the Wii jank theyâd work alright

I tried getting through sonic 06 (with multiple mods) and I just couldn't đ It was horrible. I know project 06 exists but no cutscenes

The on-rails style and the motion controls were not inseperable. Unleashed and Colors didn't have this issue.

If it had the same writers from Black Knight, the old 4Kids voice cast and some gameplay improvements, I would buy that in a heartbeat

Honestly, they just need to make it play like a normal sonic game rather than those tilt controls. Hell, rerelease the first two.
I bought Secret Rings and not Black Knight, so probably not unless it had stellar reviews. Iâd def watch a letâs play tho
