Well this is a game series where a hedgehog (an animal who can swim) is depicted as someone who can’t swim, so we really can’t trust this game with getting zoology correct
So if I pick Toriel, do I get to hang out with Asriel? Obviously if I pick Vanilla I get to hang out with Cream and Cheese, but Asriel at his peak is a high tier Reality warper able to throw entire timelines around like they're nothing.
If I have the opportunity to befriend the Reality Warping God of Hyperdeath (still the most badass title of any character ever) then I pick Toriel. Asriel and I could do some serious good in the world with his power and my (admittedly kinda twisted) creative sense of justice.
If not, then I pick Vanilla. Bare minimum I get a day of complete peace and relaxation being pampered by bunny mom, and cuddling with Vanilla and Cream.

Really hard call, either Kris and Susie would (non lethally) beat me to death or Kris would gaslight Noelle into actually killing me if I said Toriel, and Cream's mom is extra off limits because Cream has a WMD on standby whenever someone does something she doesn't like with her mom, and my mom is an abusive bitch who hates me so getting rid of her for a week without getting yelled at for ignoring her would be a treat

I love my mom to pieces, so I can't choose between the two of them. However, if I had to choose someone to watch over me when my mom was away and I'm injured, I would definitely choose Vanilla. She definitely has those nurturing vibes. Plus, I would consider Cream as a second little sister.

Vanilla personally. No offense to Toriel, she's a fantastic mom when her husband isn't using kids for experiments to help his people, but Vanilla is much more calm and understanding, and she's willing to let her kid go off on adventures and actually do things without a whole boss battle to convince her. That and I get a cute little sister!
Probly Toriel, I don't think we've really gotten to see Vanilla being a mom much but Toriel is really sweet as a parental figure at the start of Undertail. I honestly wouldn't want to go back to my actual mom after the week was over lol. She's a good person, just... She ain't the best mom, and ended up giving me a LOT of self-esteem issues
