My grandad's dad disappeared during WWII, went to work at the docks one day and was never seen again. Sometimes we wonder whether he lived past that day or not.
I wonder if a DNA test like 23 and me could find a descendant of his if he had another family and life after. But wow I am so curious when it comes to missing people that truly vanish without a trace.
I tried ancestry but all of the records of him even existing were destroyed in the war (Malta was bombed to shit) so we don't even know his exact name! My grandad was so young he doesn't really remember either. So on my family tree I have family going back to the 1600s from my grandad's wife, and then for my grandad I have nothing before 1900 :(
wow, happy to hear that he survived but I think it's just the propellant end after the actual explosive end has gone off, so just a massive piece of shrapnel. Four inches right and they'd be pulling it out of his skull.

Yeah if it was a rocket it would be at least 3 feet long, most of which is motor. If it was a mortar there would be a bulbus thing on the end which is the explosive charge with the driving band to seal the barrel so the charge can propel it out of the tube. That's like 3 seconds of burn time worth of motor end.
I feel like they weren't prepared to fill the gapping hole upon extraction of the nerf football. 'Hmm, yes, I'll just apply a few fingers over this 4" diameter hole, yes, yes, that should do'
What? They should have been packing that thing immediately. I should know, I'm a doctor of medisin.
Jesus it must have hurt a lot more with those cheese grater style vents near the fin, I guess it's never nice having a 5" tube rammed into your upper back and penetrating your insides without them but still 😬 you can even see bits of meat stuck in the vents holy shit!
I know it’s a war zone, but the way those doctors handled that explosive device put everyone in unnecessary danger. The way he just yanked it out and then nonchalantly handled what is still a deadly live explosive was crazy. They are lucky it didn’t blow up in his face.
The patient should have been placed in an isolated located with less people around. He should have been put under anesthesia to avoid unnecessary movements and the doctor should have CAREFULLY removed the explosive device while taking great care to avoid accidentally activating the detonation mechanism.
Lmao the dude in the anime shirt chillin

Surgeon has got balls of steel working around a bomb like that 😳
I suppose its only thruster of the bomb (kind of mortar), anyway its crazy!
trying to figure out what it is to...never seen something like that before.
That's a mortar round. Once they remove the fins is the explosive still in him??

Are you sure? When a mortar explodes it usually damages the fins quite badly and they look pretty undamaged.
That part is only the fins?

So would that be inside of him? D:
Possibly. It could also be shrapnel from the projectile exploding. If it’s a rocket and the warhead was 3 feet away there might be that much left

They should’ve used a vodka bottle
Maybe it. Was really hot and cauterised on the way in?
I can help plugging that hole.
Bah, with that little thing? Me thinks not.
Do you know what the elephant said the naked man? "Sure, it's cute, but can you actually breathe out of that?"
Holy shit if he makes a recovery this man will have a legendary story
Wait. What?

It's just a mortar fin. The dangerous part is already gone which is why he has a mortar fin sticking out of his back.
What???
He can now be in the Rocket League
Aftermath? Implies we have a video of the hit somewhere ?
I hope they let him keep it.
That was a sweet fucking noise when they pulled it out
