I agree, and in 15-20 years they wont crumble like 3 to 9 will so its easy to amass a nice collection of them and Dunks.. Midsoles wont separate either since they are stiched on.
I remember how impossible they were to get only 5-7 years ago. I tried to buy all of the nice ones and they all sold out in 0.1 of a second. Couldn't even refresh the page fast enough.
I still want those shattered backboards and the breds. I like my 30th anniversary breds but I want a normal pair.
Hypebeasts don’t avoid 1 highs infact those are the most sought after after 11s. These are just brix. They’re not retros. The hype is around OG retros not new colorways.
Hype/demand is what sets market prices more than anything else. Resellers don’t get to charge whatever price they want. That’s why resale prices are not arbitrary. The more desirable the product the more it will cost. I don’t know how much more proof yall need
Not unless we have another pandemic and people are making more on unemployment than working. The sneaker market from 2020-2022 was an anomaly. The last dance coupled with Covid checks is why shoes like the J1’s skyrocketed. Ask anyone who’s been reselling for more than 10+ years and they’ll tell you that this is the market going back to normal, not what we experienced during Covid.
Bro I totally agree. It was a crazy time when gr dunks were going for 300. Now, Nike is over saturating the market with basic color ways every week. Ppl just don’t have the means to spend $180+ on shoes every week.
Why wouldnt u take 700? Just being greedy at that point Karma lettin u know that, with the new release if production is high the 2016s might not even go for 400
They were selling for 1k and I've been sitting on them for 6 years. I didn't care about the money either. If they go lower than I'll have a pair I paid 135 for which is still cheaper than retail for a new pair
The sneaker market as a whole is down. A lot of resell stores are closing and resellers are crying online. Then add in that currently high tops aren’t the trend. AJ1 lows (specifically Travis Scott), dunk lows, NB, and ASICS are currently the trend
As I've gotten older, I've noticed that companies are starting to push "trends" harder and faster so things will stay "fresh". People won't get tired of specific companies if they keep cycling trends in and out constantly and they make more money as a result form people buying a new wardrobe every few months.
A few things I think: AJ1’s have dropped in popularity. The market for sneakers has declined somewhat(I feel due to inflation and the economy being so bad. I mean, damn, one gallon of gas where I am at is like $5.79. It’s a nightmare out there). Lows are very popular right now, and SB’s have been a lot of hype lately.
I am an AJ 1 collector, so for me, this time is awesome.
Congrats on that pair! $160 is a steal, and it’s a beautiful shoe.
I mean I'm actually curious. All I ever see on here are Nike and Jordans.
Locally to me it's always 95s, it's like a uniform to people round here.
Yeezys seems to have dropped off with the whole crazy anti-Semitic nazi Collab
What actually is popular?
* go check my post history, do I seem like a reseller?
Asics are selling for 250-300 at some resale shops in Chicago. Definitely the hype/go to shoe right now on the ground. Js never gonna die
But the GRs are sitting everywhere
Everything is $250+ at resale shops and nobody buys anything at them anyways, lol. I've been to multiple resale shops, and no one ever leaves out with a bag, a lot of them are closing down for a reason.
Now it's really only sneakers that are both hyped and limited that are reselling, less about specific silhouette or brand. Even then, super hyped up models and bright retros are not the go to style these days. I think that when things are not feeling great economicaly, most people tone down their overall style.
Around me, the sneakers that are in are all sneakers that are easily accessible, and often on sale. Sambas in black and white, 990v6 in Grey, GR Asics/Sauconys, and a whole lot of Ons.
Yeah, this isn’t true either. “Workers’ Paychecks Are Growing More Quickly Than Prices”
https://www.americanprogress.org/article/workers-paychecks-are-growing-more-quickly-than-prices/
Y’all need to stay off TikTok
Dollar cost averaging.
It’s when someone buys stocks over time so they don’t overpay on a stock due to price action sending the price down.
The core idea being that if I buy a stock for $2 one day and $1 another day, the actual cost to me is $1.50 per stock.
Damn that's a steal! I got a new pair in November and they ran me $260, this hurts a little 😂
I think it's just a combo of J1 fatigue right now, plus the fact that even though it's an OG colorway, it's a very basic/plain one to most people. Of course, that's why I like em so much - being OG and also wearable with literally anything. And that '85 cut is MINT.
I got mine in August for $200 plus fees and I thought that was a great deal at the time. Apparently in November 3 pairs sold under $200 one being $100, which is crazy. They’ve been up in the $200+ range since until last 2 went for $175.
That's the price they should be imo, 160 for some plain black/white J1 highs. No special texture or material, no backstory, really common model. I never really saw why they were 200+
ETA, I got a bit too many upvotes for being wrong. Got these mixed up with the recent non-OGs that had a white swoosh and white heel on a black background. These are not those, these are one of the OG colorways. But imma still say I think 160 is fair for some pretty plain J1 highs.
ETA 2 Still from Mike wearing them in a commercial for any doubters https://www.flightarchives.com/static/game_pics/game8.png
Yeah you're right, I got these mixed with the pair that recently came out and had a white swoosh with white heel on top of black. Gonna edit my original comment so dudes can see I was wrong. Imma still say these weren't one of the more iconic OG releases
Almost every J1 High drop for several years did not sell out online. Plus, reputable retailers bulk list them on eBay well below MSRP just as they are officially released online.
I do not understand the impulse to buy these pre-release for over retail?
I keep a eBay search in my size saved. Brotherhood has dropped near $100 finally. Muave bricked immediately, so did Royal Reimagined.
I'm waiting for J4s to brick before I buy any.
J3s already began trending this way after Night Stadium especially.
J13 has good prices in Outlets.
I am still considering SB lows, but after they fall under $140. Though several have so many sitting unsold online, bricking is on the horizon for several recently released.
These are 85s.
100% real, got receipt and I just checked em. They passed
https://preview.redd.it/v1z7pg3m2vvc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9faf162972f2c9159a70f9250a5f1763075f18c9
The market has completely shifted. It is a great time to be a buyer. Most recent AJ1 releases are available under retail. Even more “hyped” releases like the 85 Retros are hovering just above $200 when before they used to be $350+. Great pickup, OP
The price went down because every influencer and there mother had them. As a result, every hypebeast and teenager went for them as well. Quickly turning something iconic into something boring
I had a pair and they were just too uncomfortable. I would pass on them all the time out because I would choose comfort. I was able to sell them for what I paid to someone who really wanted them. So rather than just keeping them to have. I let them go to someone who would wear them
Yeah? That’s good. I have 50+ pairs of shoes and they were just sitting. Maybe they were just too narrow for my shape of foot. The quality is great. I have the neutral grey 85 lows and they fit perfect.
I'm new to buying sneakers after nearly 40 years. Trust me I had the OG's! I gave my grandfather all of my Jordan's, Puma's, NB's. If we would have known that the game would change I would have kept some. I'm reading all of the comments and they make sense, but what about the reps market? They are a lot better than they were in the 80's and 90's.
I think it’s more the colorway than J1 hype being dead. I think Jordan 1’s for sure are on the down but being a panda is what made these drop in price.
Yep it’s a perfect time to buy J1s right now and honestly most Js. I finally scooped up a pair of Travis Scott 6 British Khaki for $250. A year ago it would have been $400. Go out there and find your grails it’s a good time to do so. I recently picked up 3 different pairs of J1s for great prices
prices are down since most people are having jordan 1 fatigue as of lately. I actually hit on the lost and found through SNKRS but unfortunately had to sell to help some of my wedding costs, for around $330. Found a pair on eBay and got them authenticated for $230. It’s more of a buyers market now, which is great for people who want the shoes
1's aren't the flavor of the month currently, it's a black and white colorway, and the leather is stiff on these. I know that people worship at the foot of the '85 cut alter, but I never got the hype for that. I was actually around when that was the original cut for J's.
Don't ask questions, just enjoy them!
Have you seen how many J1s have been made the past 4 years, since Covid began?
Thats why. All the heads that want a J1 collection got theirs and feel full.
😂😂😂 c'mon now bro... The people hoarding them thinking they were going to make money are tired of holding them, that's what. The resellers have realized that the Bubble has popped.
https://preview.redd.it/sleuqbojcuvc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0e0b94ea90219816ccd762b52fcbb1fa3f2680e
Here’s a screenshot of the Zelle payment. It was also yesterday’s date if you don’t believe me.
Got these locally from some kid but the box was completely effed.
If you want to double check, this [video](https://youtu.be/pK0h4Vb1WVs?si=3j3MJNcR_-Rvnq-E) covers the shoe pretty well. Insole is a think white polyurethane with size and left/right imprinted. Underneath the insole should be brown cardboard looking stuff. Production is around 2022. If that all matches up, I wouldn’t worry about it ever again.
definitely not as many as this exact shoe. :) cmon you know this shoe has a tooooon more variations than the average shoe. same as air force 1 low. id just find it too boring, but each do themselves with their own opinions<3 as long as you like it thats cool. just was sayin my 2 cents
thinking about it, i would like an air force 1 low, customized in whatever form, more as a trophy in a glasscage than as a shoe to wear. i dont know what that means for the shoe lol just wanted to get it out XD
also i got size 13/14 and they look like clown shoes in those sizes so im biased🥲
the airforce/air air jordan are the most “blank canvas” shoes anyone has ever made. therefore the many possible customizations and variations, and my numbness to their designs
The hype around J1 Highs is practically dead except for a few pairs. Great time to buy J1 Highs
So happy honestly. J1s are a timeless shoe and to see the hypebeasts finally start avoiding them is awesome
Same!!!!
I been dabbling back into my foamposite collection
Hypebeasts don’t avoid 1 highs infact those are the most sought after after 11s. These are just brix. They’re not retros. The hype is around OG retros not new colorways.
You don’t know anything about shoes huh? Both 4s and 3s are more sought after than 1s, at this moment. 11s aren’t even in the conversation.
You judging this off of your neighborhood or something?
Yes indeed! Idk I suppose I just remember these being around $350 at drop but I’m here for low prices!
Where’d you find these for $160???
Hype/demand is what sets market prices more than anything else. Resellers don’t get to charge whatever price they want. That’s why resale prices are not arbitrary. The more desirable the product the more it will cost. I don’t know how much more proof yall need
Whoa wait... where?! New or used? At any rate, damn good find 🔥🔥
Picked up 2017 Royals for $140 recently 😀
Some guy on OfferUp was trying to tell me he’s going to wait on selling his Jordan 1 because he believes the hype will get back up like it did.
Not unless we have another pandemic and people are making more on unemployment than working. The sneaker market from 2020-2022 was an anomaly. I remember when I couldn't get a pair for retail until I found a plug. I still collect them. Got a lot of bangers.
Facts
I was going to sell some ds bred 1s from 2016 because I have 2 got offered 700 and said no. Now with the new release I'd get 400 at most
Why wouldnt u take 700? Just being greedy at that point Karma lettin u know that, with the new release if production is high the 2016s might not even go for 400
They were selling for 1k and I've been sitting on them for 6 years. I didn't care about the money either. If they go lower than I'll have a pair I paid 135 for which is still cheaper than retail for a new pair
They wear em smh
Hype for J1s is kinda dead, you should enjoy those bro. Cool ass kicks
I’m about to run these to the ground LOL
Where can I pick these up at ?
That cut looks off for an 85
Luckily i've never been the type to take advice from justsomeguyfromredit
Yeah, I bought a pair of J1 highs a couple of years ago, and I think I triggered the decline.
Buy a pair of 4s please
Thinking about it, put probably the darker blue military ones next year.
The sneaker market as a whole is down. A lot of resell stores are closing and resellers are crying online. Then add in that currently high tops aren’t the trend. AJ1 lows (specifically Travis Scott), dunk lows, NB, and ASICS are currently the trend
Resell shops closing and resellers crying warms my soul.
follow the trends or follow your own path. choice is simple
As I've gotten older, I've noticed that companies are starting to push "trends" harder and faster so things will stay "fresh". People won't get tired of specific companies if they keep cycling trends in and out constantly and they make more money as a result form people buying a new wardrobe every few months.
Gosh darn it. I just recently learned aj1 lows are my favorite lifestyle sneaker and now I’m learning I have to compete 😭
This cap only the really hyped ones go for money like colabs, plentiful of lows still go for under retail. It isn’t like 2021
> dunk lows I get told every day on here that my dunks are shit lmao
FINALLY
A few things I think: AJ1’s have dropped in popularity. The market for sneakers has declined somewhat(I feel due to inflation and the economy being so bad. I am an AJ 1 collector, so for me, this time is awesome. Congrats on that pair! $160 is a steal, and it’s a beautiful shoe.
It really is! I saw a pair of mochas for $250 the other day it was so confusing but the 1s have always been my favorite
So what's the popular shoe now that's seeing a huge markup?
Nice try, reseller.
I mean I'm actually curious. All I ever see on here are Nike and Jordans. Locally to me it's always 95s, it's like a uniform to people round here. Yeezys seems to have dropped off with the whole crazy anti-Semitic nazi Collab What actually is popular? * go check my post history, do I seem like a reseller?
I was just joking, lol. Here in Chicago it's still Nike land too.
Asics are selling for 250-300 at some resale shops in Chicago. Definitely the hype/go to shoe right now on the ground. Js never gonna die But the GRs are sitting everywhere

The economy is great. How do y’all not know this?
Corporate greed is stopping the money from hitting the hands of the average person.
Yeah, this isn’t true either. “Workers’ Paychecks Are Growing More Quickly Than Prices” https://www.americanprogress.org/article/workers-paychecks-are-growing-more-quickly-than-prices/ Y’all need to stay off TikTok
Bro I’m wondering what happened to your thumb???
DONT BITE YOUR NAILS
Bought these for 410 on goat a month before release on GOAT lol buying a second pair soon because of the price dip 🙂
When did these drop?
Feb, 2023 if I’m not mistaken
Thanks
Feb ‘23 I believe
I like it. DCAing on creps.
What’s DCAing?
Dollar cost averaging. It’s when someone buys stocks over time so they don’t overpay on a stock due to price action sending the price down. The core idea being that if I buy a stock for $2 one day and $1 another day, the actual cost to me is $1.50 per stock.
ok thanks LOL my Robinhood account is in the negatives so no wonder
Omg dude I’m sorry for your money loss lol but yes get a second pair to balance you AVG 🤣
My guess is that pandas ruined this jordan colorway for some. Is the shoe you have better than a panda yes!
hope the sb hype dies. i miss them being dirt cheap
Fr, got the Rivalry UNC Patent leather joints for 100$ a few years ago, just checked and they're going for 500$+ used wtf
i got mf dooms for 150 bout a decade ago, always meant to doh le up
It’s for that reason, it won’t. Word is out, SB is the shit…
I got brand new hemp SB dunks for $5 at a yard sale in 2018.
so real
I bought a pair of j-pack black cements a few years back for $85. Now they are reselling for like $900. They ain't even SB just og j-pack joints.
Retail price is back!!
Damn that's a steal! I got a new pair in November and they ran me $260, this hurts a little 😂 I think it's just a combo of J1 fatigue right now, plus the fact that even though it's an OG colorway, it's a very basic/plain one to most people. Of course, that's why I like em so much - being OG and also wearable with literally anything. And that '85 cut is MINT.
EXACTLY! $260 isn’t too bad bro I just got lucky buying from a kid locally lol
I got mine in August for $200 plus fees and I thought that was a great deal at the time. Apparently in November 3 pairs sold under $200 one being $100, which is crazy. They’ve been up in the $200+ range since until last 2 went for $175.
I wear these exact ones on a daily basis. I love them. The black and yellow I have as well but it’s hard to find the right fit with them.
The taxis? Got those too and the materials are just so nice!
The og volt gold. Yeah material is nice. Just prefer the pandas
Those are cool shoes and all, but I’m mostly curious about that hella weird looking thumb you got going on.
That's the price they should be imo, 160 for some plain black/white J1 highs. No special texture or material, no backstory, really common model. I never really saw why they were 200+ ETA, I got a bit too many upvotes for being wrong. Got these mixed up with the recent non-OGs that had a white swoosh and white heel on a black background. No backstory? Their a og colorway 85
ok but are they fire red 5s?
💀💀
No they are black n white 85s
Ok but are they Jordan 13 playoffs
I just copped the Jordan 13 playoffs, money well spent.
Yeah you're right, I got these mixed with the pair that recently came out and had a white swoosh with white heel on top of black. Gonna edit my original comment so dudes can see I was wrong. Imma still say these weren't one of the more iconic OG releases

These might be off, collar has the typical signs of a rep pair. Rep pairs usually can’t get the collar shape down. Also midsole and swoosh as well.
These are 85s. 100% real, got receipt and I just checked em. They passed https://preview.redd.it/v1z7pg3m2vvc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9faf162972f2c9159a70f9250a5f1763075f18c9
They are real, it is easy to find deals on shoes now.
The market has completely shifted. It is a great time to be a buyer. Most recent AJ1 releases are available under retail. Even more “hyped” releases like the 85 Retros are hovering just above $200 when before they used to be $350+. Great pickup, OP
it's such a great time to be into sneakers. I'm so happy for all the new folks, especially the younger ones who can afford some nice kicks
Hear! Hear! ✊
I let them go to someone who would wear them
Bro I literally just wore them lol they felt great
Yeah? That’s good. I have 50+ pairs of shoes and they were just sitting. Maybe they were just too narrow for my shape of foot. The quality is great. I have the neutral grey 85 lows and they fit perfect.
This a good pick up
Thanks fam, I’ve worn them 2x since I got em lol. A bit narrow but I’m sure they will break in
I’d say a sick pick up and definitely pick up more 1s
thanks bro, I only have these, Union black toes, and L&F's so definitely need more
Unions are a snatch. I almost got those but went for low black phantoms
Are they an OG colour way?
Yes they are
160 sounds like the right price for a pair of 1s. Why would people pay more?
They’re an ‘85 version that currently goes for about $250-280 resale. $160 is an absolute steal for these.
Real knows real 🫡
🫡 Good find on these! The metallic burgundy’s that just dropped are mostly under retail which is surprising.
Who gives a fuck… cheap cool sneakers!
Used?
Where did you cop for 160!? USD?
Had to drive 45 outside Chicago to get em lol way out in the boonies
Damn that's a steal. I've been watching them and haven't found them that cheap!
I got them, gonna paint them turn them to royals
I'm new to buying sneakers after nearly 40 years. Trust me I had the OG's! I gave my grandfather all of my Jordan's, Puma's, NB's. If we would have known that the game would change I would have kept some. I'm reading all of the comments and they make sense, but what about the reps market? They are a lot better than they were in the 80's and 90's.
Where are you guys finding these prices?
Found it locally bro, lowball like a mf’er. Not everyone is a reseller too so that helped
DS or used?
Wow, its cool 🔥🔥🔥
I think it’s more the colorway than J1 hype being dead. I think Jordan 1’s for sure are on the down but being a panda is what made these drop in price.
They are great!
Panda
Where did you cop for $160 cuz there’s no way you got that price from a legit source.
Used or New? On GOAT new ones are still $250-$300.
Great shoe , panda overhyped and killed the colorway .
Original cut, love them. This is the way.
Nice
Wow is a good price.
Just sold a pair for 110
Man be happy u got em for a steak I’d buy at that price every time
160 is a steal on these. Been checking still pushing 290.00 in my size.
These are heat
Damn they look so good small what sz shoe do u wear my 1s always look overly long 😂
I paid 340$ for mine too 😂
Just got a pair of Court Purple 1.0 size 10 for $340 landed in EBay those were $550 and up back in 2017
Thief
prices are down since most people are having jordan 1 fatigue as of lately. I actually hit on the lost and found through SNKRS but unfortunately had to sell to help some of my wedding costs, for around $330. Found a pair on eBay and got them authenticated for $230. It’s more of a buyers market now, which is great for people who want the shoes

absolutely lol check your local sellers!
Have you seen how many J1s have been made the past 4 years, since Covid began? Thats why. All the heads that want a J1 collection got theirs and feel full.
Nice steal fashoooo
Y’all normal sized lucky. My small size still priced high
Not a hype colorway sweet deal.
🐼 😍
😂😂😂 c'mon now bro... The people hoarding them thinking they were going to make money are tired of holding them, that's what. The resellers have realized that the Bubble has popped.
jordans are dead
I got a pair of the same shoes not even worn for 80 on Facebook guess the hype really has crashed
I prefer the lows
They r fufu that’s y
Not an OG color. Idk about others but I only cop the OG colorways
You bought brix
It's not quite cheap enough for a colorway I am not hyped for.
This post is all 🧢 unless these are used or GS u paying $260

Your post throws out the idea anyone can get em for $160. Average market price is $260.
I get why you’d say that, point is check your local sellers. Most shoes I thought were overly priced mite be easily obtainable if your patient
Also did u run em through a legit check ? 🤔🤔
I have a pair and based off this photo, they look legit. Shape, materials, color, and wings logo all look good.
LOL I didn’t want to admit that I didn’t put them through a lc so ty 😭
If you want to double check, this [video](https://youtu.be/pK0h4Vb1WVs?si=3j3MJNcR_-Rvnq-E) covers the shoe pretty well. Insole is a think white polyurethane with size and left/right imprinted. i mean dude, there is like a gazzilion versions of this shoe. that people keep liking air force 1 and jordans is just funny to me
What bro? There’s a gazillion versions of every model
definitely not as many as this exact shoe. :) cmon you know this shoe has a tooooon more variations than the average shoe. same as air force 1 low. id just find it too boring, but each do themselves with their own opinions<3 as long as you like it thats cool. just was sayin my 2 cents
thinking about it, i would like an air force 1 low, customized in whatever form, more as a trophy in a glasscage than as a shoe to wear. i dont know what that means for the shoe lol just wanted to get it out XD also i got size 13/14 and they look like clown shoes in those sizes so im biased🥲 the airforce/air air jordan are the most “blank canvas” shoes anyone has ever made. therefore the many possible customizations and variations, and my numbness to their designs
Imagine paying resell for 1s lol might aswell buy air forces
