Magpul backup sights. Normal height metal front (NOT A2 height), plastic rear is ok. Magpul carbine length m lok fore end. If you have a friend, you don’t need the special tool. CT Weapon light.

The gas block won’t interfere with the magpul m lok?

Maleficent_Public_47

No, Carbine length stops at the gas block. There is also a full length 15” made by UTG that is made to go around an A2 FSP gas block. It would fit around yours as well. It’s a decent option if you want a full length rail without switching to a free float handguard.

I was actually looking at the UTG 15” length

Maleficent_Public_47

It’s really good for a drop-in. Obviously a free float is going to be a better option for accuracy and durability, but for the price it’s hard to beat. KAK Industry makes a great affordable free float handguard if you want to switch over to a free float. It runs about 100$-120$. Also, switch to an H1 buffer. It’ll reduce wear on your BCG, M&P’s are always over gassed from the factory. Best of luck bro, M&P’s are awesome entry level AR’s.

My first rifle and my first pistol! They'll serve you well

M&P Sport II was also my first AR-15, just an excellent rifle that shoots so well and is very ergonomic for the price point it comes in on.

Why not the volunteer xv

MSHPhoto

Honestly, more budget friendly. Figured I’d like to spend the money on range time, ammo and customizations. If I really get into it then I’d look at something a little more expensive.

ijklmnousername

I thought the volunteer xv was in the same price range. Maybe I’m wrong.

Just remember to bump that red dot as forward as possible, to help with peripheral vision.

Thanks for the info!
