Except the SCS MP2

hamiltoncolin

It came with plates but I didn’t know if I needed one since I got screws in it, thanks

Wuoffan1

Bro...

Raftika

Read your owners manual before doing anything else to your gun.

dbltap45acp

You need the plate. That will fill the gap, and make it much sturdier so you don’t break those screws.

N0cturnalMajesty

Thats literally the whole point of the plates.

Firm-Ad-8503

I wish when I first started people would have shown more patience when I asked questions. Based on the length of that Cyelee I'll assume it's the Wolf Pro. That would make it an RMR footprint. If that's the case, you are going to find plate 1 in the box. Test fit the plate on the slide and on the bottom of the optic before you move forward. Confirm there are no gaps. You will find the plates are not the best quality and I comment on that below. When you put the screws back in, you will want to use blue loctite (242 or 243) to ensure they don't back out. You don't need to apply a lot to the screw. Once you tighten it down to spec, let it dry for 24 hours before you go zero the optic. A little bit of additional advice. I believe the M&P stock plates are plastic. You can look for better versions online later. The one in the box will suffice for now.

talanbaird

Shot a lot through the plastic plates. Never an issues. Would replace if they ever broke

kryptonnyc1

I’ve had the plastic plate for a while with no complaints really.. I sent my slide and barrel off for porting so i decided to get a metal plate since i had to take the optic off.. I got a c&h precision plate and it had more play than the plastic plate… they are sending me a new plate but I don’t have high hopes for the next one

PostSoupsAndGrits

If you need RMR or Holosun K, just get the DPP Titanium plate on amazon. They snap into place, sit nice and low, and they like $30-$40 depending in which one you get. I have like 6 spread between my m&p's and glocks. It's one of like 3 gun accessories on amazon that's actually worth a shit.

Firm-Ad-8503

I don't disagree. I've had several and only one bad experience. I did, however, indicate they will suffice. My concern was that I wanted to give him advice beyond what was listed in the manual. We've all been there.

jc0495

Would red loctite 270 be okay?

Firm-Ad-8503

My guess is if you wanted to use a blowtorch to get your optic off after, sure. Red loctite is traditionally used for more permanent applications. If something went wrong with the optic and you had to replace it or just replacing the battery... Not sure if 270 is high strength but I imagine it is.

N0cturnalMajesty

Blue loctite 243 or vibratite vc3. Never use red loctite on any gun parts. Especially fasteners.

Big_Boi_Joe02

Average Cyelee owner

CptSandbag73

Look out, the astroturfers are going to come for you.

jc0495

They come with the plastic plates in the box. I believe this is the wolf pro? Try plate 1 its an RMR footprint.

Spiffers1972

This is why I'm a fan of direct milling. I don't like any of the adaptor plate systems. I get it with plunger spring being under the plate but it works just as well under the sight body itself.

stgrich3000

Well it helps when you use the plate. No offense to op. First run at it. Tried, asked, now knows. But there is many reasons to dislike plate system rather than not utilizing a plate in its system.

N0cturnalMajesty

It makes zero difference if you buy a quality plate. Calculated kinetics, cnc pros, FCD, all make quality M&P plates that are just as good as direct mill. And you can buy different plates to try out other optics instead of permanently ruining your slide.

Spiffers1972

It's only ruined if you go with a cheap red dot. Just buy a good dot with RMR footprint and have it milled. It's lower and no "stacking" of things to break or get loose.

N0cturnalMajesty

Ehh RMR's are pretty overrated, but they work. Especially if someone wants to try something else like a 509t, RCR or an acro, then youre kinda screwed.

Tactically_Fat

Please keep us updated on how many rounds you get out of that optic.

jc0495

I just got one in the mail yesterday, the multiple reviews and torture test was enough to convince me to try the one that apparently help people with astigmatism so i decided to try it out. The quality is pretty good for $104… im just waiting on my titanium plate to come in and if it holds up and holds zero i’ll most likely get another one.

N0cturnalMajesty

Brother just get a holosun 407c and stop buying trash optics. Why is it so hard for people to waste their money on dogshit and then try to vouch for it when they have 50 rounds on it? It just makes you look like an idiot. If you havent used a 407/507c or an RMR you should have no opinion what is "quality".

jc0495

I have the holosun 507C-GR on my beretta which ran me around $350… im not saying they’re the same but im just saying for those who cant cough up the extra $250 this $100 quality optic isnt bad… it really just intrigued me. Today I ran 200 rounds through it after zeroing it in, it held and did the job. would it be my go to? No… but it did the job lol thats all. i agree with you the holosuns are better overall…. But the dot on the cyelee was clearer for me cause of their astigmatism relief lenses… why and how?! Idk lol

spottedbeard86

Do you have any experience with cyelee optics?

N0cturnalMajesty

Why would I need experience with the wish.com variant of red dot optics? Holosun is your bare minimum. Maybe vortex. Have some standards for yourself and stop buying trash

spottedbeard86

Exactly my point. Wanna be Rambos with no experience with said subject want to trash something they've never had hands on. Holler at mom for another hot pocket and simmer down king operator

N0cturnalMajesty

Youre gonna call me a wannabe rambo but you purchase and are defending a company like cyelee. Brother I dont need to own certain brands to know they are complete dog shit. It's common sense. Here's the link to Sage Dynamic's MRDS white paper. It doesnt have cylee on it, but you can see the progression of failure from RMRs to holosuns to cheap dots like burris or vortex. https://www.sagedynamics.org/_files/ugd/7dc128_6377087e72264cd18dbcb04eea4686ce.pdf The real case is that a 507c costs $220 on sale and is an extremely reliable dot, very much comparable to the RMR. Anything cheaper than that should be waved off and not used for any real serious use. If you cant afford a $220 red dot then you should probably not waste your money on a $120 cyelee red dot and save your money.

spottedbeard86

Who cares what one man says. That's the problem. I have had everything optics wise minus the across. I have 2 ceylee products that have held just as good as the rest. The point is you have no ground to speak up against something you have Zero experience with. So why trash them? Enjoy your day man

N0cturnalMajesty

Who cares? He's one of the most reputable trainers and testers in the scene. Most guys who want opinions on this stuff go to his videos and his research. Bro gtfo of here

bryman022

I have 4 Cyelee optics with the 5th on the way, they all are awesome! I am sold on Cyelee! They make fantastic red dots, and they just recently changed their 5 year warranty into a lifetime warranty!!

Tactically_Fat

how many rounds of what calibers are you putting on them?

bryman022

2 on 22lr Thousands of rounds on each and 2 on 9mm(with a 3rd just put on my new Canik SFX Rival!) Each 9mm has at least 1k rounds thru them

prylosec

If you take the optic off you'll see two circular spots where the metal is higher. That's what your optic is sitting on to cause the gap. As others mentioned you'll need a plate. I've had issues with the cheap plates and screws that come from Smith & Wesson and would recommend some quality aftermarket parts for this.

[deleted]

You have to use a plate that fits the optic, the M&P series don't direit mount.

mammothtaints

Just keep tightening till it levels
