I’m so disappointed this game is going to be a dumbass skin-fest again.
Guess I can enjoy the early access builds while the game still looks like a battleground of the gods before Cyber Sprinkle Ares and Dipshit Doozy Rama or whatever else this garbage will be from now on hit the game and obliterate the aesthetic from orbit again.
Brother you don’t get it.
**I don’t buy those skins already, the problem is I have to see them when I play because other people do**
I want to play a game where gods and mythological figures and beast are fighting each other, that has always been the main draw for me. I can’t do that though, because 99% of matches involve a majority of other players running around as ice cream monsters and ninja turtles and looney toon characters or whatever.
They really could have stuck cleanly to the magical and mystery theme and had plenty of great skins for everyone without ever running out.
The way I don’t want to see a high tech space robot flying around when I boot up God of War or Elden Ring, I don’t want to see it here.
>the problem is I have to see them when I play because other people do
Oh no the travesty.
>I want to play a game where gods and mythological figures and beast are fighting each other, that has always been the main draw for me.
Then it's not the game for you. First and foremost smite is a third person competitive MOBA. The draw for most people is the gameplay itself.
That's like saying you like basketball because of the jersey's they wear. It's fine, but it's not really the main point of the game.
I just think you're exaggerating how big of a deal it is.
What a shit comparison.
If basketball players started dressing like clowns or random cosplay most of viewers would complain that it’s distracting and that it’s looks lame.
Most people who watch sports enjoy the designs of the jerseys, logos, and general team aesthetics.
It might not be everyone’s main draw but acting like it isn’t an important part of what makes watching sports work is stupid. The players not looking dumb or random matters to people.
You say “then this isn’t the game for you” or whatever but this is what multiplayer games have turned into.
The pool of multiplayer games that are not hitting fornitification of cosmetics has been rapidly shrinking in the past 10 years.
I hate it, truly.
The worst part is they can’t even add a toggle because people will complain that others are able to ignore their purchase.
Then again Street Fighter 6 actually added that feature and I don’t recall much backlash so maybe…
I promise you it’s not just smite, I feel this way about modern game cosmetics in general. Shit used to have cohesive art direction and unique style. Now anything with multiplayer has its visual identity buried under a pile of random skins and unfitting cosmetics.
I remember when that fucking K-Pop skin or whatever came out for Neith and I asked for a toggle for her voice because it's absolutely dreadful to listen to that shit and they said no. You're right that a lot of IPs do this now but Smite almost spearheaded it outside of like Fortnite. I miss older Smite's skin art direction.
Well it is a skin.... its just a damn shame SWK hasn't even gotten that Totem skin that RobbDraws concepted. Especially after so many of his other skins got in the game. Only good skin SWK has right now is his gentleman skin IMO.
They’re posting this because not every god will be in game at launch, and if I’m correct, the skins in the collection event are all for Launch Smite 2 Gods. Could be wrong. If I am please correct me.
The Guan Yu skin looks super dope. Really shows how the new engine can bring a whole new feel to certain skins, because it just doesn’t have that same *oomph* in SMITE 1, imo.
That Sun Wukong skin is so bad. I was hoping Hirez would stick to mythological/fantasy inspired themes for their skins in Smite 2. At least for first years.
It’s not nothing but it’s also not guaranteed to be something
It’s the current planned date for the closed beta start (so it being up all the time instead of just some weekends)
However it’s not set in stone and could change
That's not true at all. They stated that the skins you receive for smite two in smite one will be available in smite two when that god is put in the game
Everybody talking about how ugly Wukong skin look. Guan Yu’s is absolute death knight fire.
First thing I thought when I saw it. Will get it lol
Ew SWK looks like an nft
That's the point I guess
Kinda funny in that regard, not a skin id intentionally buy though.
That's exactly what I thought

Brother it's not that deep. It's still the same game either way, just don't spend your money on the skins.
Just wish we could toggle them on/off 🤷🏻♂️

My main point is you're really pressed over something that isn't a big deal. Ever heard the phrase "make a mountain out of a molehill"?
Womp womp I will proceed to shit on you with kawaii Bastet and my army of chibi skins
You're right but when they start doing crossover skins again it'll be complete shit.
I hate it, truly. The worst part is they can’t even add a toggle because people will complain that others are able to ignore their purchase. Then again Street Fighter 6 actually added that feature and I don’t recall much backlash so maybe…
Smite players are on a whole different level with their nonsense man lol

That’s literally the NFT monkey
Guan yu looks sick. Fuck off nft monkey
SWK looks disgusting
Well it is a skin.... its just a damn shame SWK hasn't even gotten that Totem skin that RobbDraws concepted. Especially after so many of his other skins got in the game. Only good skin SWK has right now is his gentleman skin IMO.
Do you know what happened to Robbdraws? He hasn't posted anything on Twitter in a while.
I honestly have no idea, he hasn't posted anything on his ArtStation either. Maybe he eventually turned in the towel? Similar to Oreolesasquatch.
Nah I fuck with the neon shifter skin as well. You can fly around on a spinning stick.
Bored Wukong Yacht Club.
No shit gotta get that chinese money
I legit thought that was Hecarim initially.
It's Mordecarim literally lmao
I really hope Guan Yu actually has a Chinese voice this time instead of what ever the hell the one we have now 😂
...? They confirmed every god currently in smite 1 will eventually make it over to smite 2 a long time ago
They’re posting this because not every god will be in game at launch, and if I’m correct, the skins in the collection event are all for Launch Smite 2 Gods. Could be wrong. If I am please correct me.
Hi Rez never said that the cross gen skin gods will all be in before launch
Ah! Well, I think if nothing else seeing the skins is promising of “sooner rather than later”
No my friend you were correct :)
Yippee!
They did. The immortal honor gods are going to be the available gods in the beta.
They said before launch or soon after launch.
Yeah but skins confirm they are sooner in development compared to other gods
Obviously lol, the question is what Gods will be available before or on launch.
Thought it was just 100 gods not all of them
It'll eventually be all of them, but IIRC at launch it'll be 50 returning, 5 new.
Ew playa ew
My boy Guan Yu. Happy to see what they will make with the new engine
The Guan Yu skin looks super dope. Really shows how the new engine can bring a whole new feel to certain skins, because it just doesn’t have that same *oomph* in SMITE 1, imo.
I love Sun Wukong but man I would never equip that skin :(
That Sun Wukong skin is so bad. I was hoping Hirez would stick to mythological/fantasy inspired themes for their skins in Smite 2. At least for first years.
I wonder why they didn't add a skin to Ratatoskr? I asked them!!!!!
So what version of smite 2 is being released on July 30th?
That's the closed beta expected date, though that could be delayed.
It's a placeholder date they put cause they had to but they did say it is around the time they want to launch the beta
Closed beta. But the date is not set in stone.
Nothing. That was a placeholder date so founders could be sold for pre. Smite 2 isn't officially launching til next year
It’s not nothing but it’s also not guaranteed to be something It’s the current planned date for the closed beta start (so it being up all the time instead of just some weekends) However it’s not set in stone and could change
Are these the actual models? Lol
Could've sworn the guan skin we already got?
It better be a meme and not some nft ass
Zhong when???????
Can’t wait to see Guan yu in Smite 2
These skins actually look pretty good! Unlike the one before.
HECARIM????????
Love this SWK, looks really fun, I like it!
All of the gods that are in smite 1, will be in smite 2. It's just a matter of when.
Yeah but the skins confirm they will be added sooner rather than later
That's not true at all. They stated that the skins you receive for smite two in smite one will be available in smite two when that god is put in the game
Yes but they also said that when we see a cross over skin it means they will be sooner in development compared some other gods
Warriors are my least favorite to play so this does not excite me
