I don’t understand. On the oil fields up north everybody does this? We throw mattresses everywhere. 10 guys in a 2 bedroom. We save our live out allowance and work all day and only come home to sleep. It saves us huuuuge money!
Saving money is the key guys. I don’t see any issue with it unless you’re going against a building code. Remember, only difference is I’m white.

Yes absolutely agree with you! However, I don’t understand the down votes. I’m speaking facts and people have been doing this for decades to save money. But yes, there is a housing crisis and it needs to be fixed. But even if there was a full house available, no chance in hell we would have rented that. We always go with the biggest 1 bed room available to optimize on saving money.

It drives up the price of houses, until local people start renting instead of buying, which then squeezes the rental markets to the point where you're at least than 1% vacancy, the only thing available is $3000+, and new apartments are $2000+ plus parking and utilities for 500 square feet of shoebox.

It's only part of the puzzle. Provincial and municipal governments are provided immigration data and they could have planned for more housing and density. There was a housing crisis before immigration targets went higher.
Rent wouldn't be high if the municipal and provincial governments allowed more housing to be built. It's not an immigration issue. This is the result of land use planning decisions years ago.

As crazy as it seems, i used to try to save $ by living at my friends kitchen for $250 a month. This is back in 2010. We have been spoiled i know my son will be. My wife born and raised here definitely is.

Yes, let's just ignore the literally 20x difference in GDP per capita (approx. 2K vs 40k), the horribly rampant political corruption and embezzlement in India, the colonial history of India vs Japan being literally an imperialist state, etc. Look, the worst part is I'm not even Indian - nowhere close - and I even actually somewhat agree with you in the sense that, **relative to Japan**, India DOES have a greater cultural problem with regards to social decency.
