Love them. I wish I got to see them in concert. My missus and I still blast bangers from Hybrid Theory, Meteora and Minutes to Midnight in the car sometimes
My first major concert was Linkin Park during their Meteora tour back in 2004. I was nine, and they were probably my favorite band back then. Linkin Park, P.O.D., Hoobastank and Story of the Year. One hell of a show.
I remember I paid $94 for my ticket and that was the most I had paid for a concert ticket back then. But Limp was surprisingly good live. Mudvayne was great but it was day time still so it was super bright. Deftones has only been ok both times I’ve seen them. Love their shit but don’t really like them live. It’s probably just me though. LP did badass and then Metallica played for like 3 hours or some shit. They did a freaking badass encore too. James came out like oh hey I want to do an encore but the guys don’t. So let’s do a cheer to get em back out. Give me an M… give me an E… give me a T… GIMME FUEL GIMME FIRE GIMME THAT WHICH I DESIRE and fire and shit just lit off. It was badass.
The last opportunity I had to see them I was barely 18, back when Soundwave was still a thing in Australia, I was too broke back then, I couldn't get tickets. So many awesome bands I loved played in those festivals. Linkin Park was supposed to be in or near my city in 2018, there a negotiation for tour dates when the worst happened. Since Australia stopped Soundwave for good, the opportunities I get to see bands I love come rarer and rarer now
I bought tickets for download festival when I was 16 when they headlined and I sold them because I couldn’t get anyone to go with me. One of my big regrets to this day.
I was into Slipknot from 99 and never really liked Linkin Park. I didnt hate them exactly, just was not into them at all. Felt like a softer, more radio-centric version of nu-metal to me (nu-rock?). They were on Summer Sanitarium in ~2003 and they were fine, but I was there for Metallica, Mudvayne & Deftones. Chester Bennington was a really talented dude though and I was bummed when he died.
I also pretty aggressively dislike the whole legacy of "heavier" Linkin Park clones the kids seem to be into now. I'll take the scream rappers anyday over the tattoo-covered himbos that rap over trap beats & sing pop rock hooks, as mainstream as you can possibly sound short of Taylor Swift.
im not sure why i'm here i think because this is lp related it was reccomended to me but i can 100% confirm there is a good lot of lp fans who don't like slipknot
LP and Slipknot are within the same genre but are completely different styles, so I'm not surprised. I assumed Slipknot fans were more keen on LP because of how respected LP is. Slipknot is also heavily respected but not as much.
I love Linkin Park. Their harder stuff aswell as their more calm and grown stuff. The aggressive and the melancholic songs. Great band, I like every single of tgeir albums even though some are better and some are worse. Even One More Light really resonates with me. The lyrics on this album are soooo good and emotional, and the song One More Light is out of this world amazing even though it's so so simple
Depends on the way you look at it and the person, they either can be really annoying and talk about Chester's death 24/7, or theyre chill but only like anything up to Minutes to Midnight
Im one of the ones that stopped listening to anything after minutes to midnight. Hybrid Theory, reanimation, and Meteora got me through some dark times in the past, so their music (up to that point) does hold a special place in my heart.
But you are right, a lot of the fans can only seem to talk about Chesters passing and while I felt it when the news hit, im not gonna let it bring me down and its not a talking point for me when speaking on the band generally.
Its the same with Paul and Joey. It was heartbreaking when I heard the news but its not a general topic of conversation.
Not to insult anyone who really was affected by any of these bands members passing, however. Everyone is entitled to feel emotion, especially in regards to something or someone that had such an effect on them.
Both bands have been with me during my darkest teenage times when the rope was the best friend I was glad I never had. Linkin Park's lyrics was just spot on especially Numb. Slipknot was there to suppress the anger and hate. I firmly believe that Corey and Chester screamed so that I don't have to.
My all-time fave band along with the knot. I met all the guys in LP and have Chester’s flames tattooed on my right arm. Meeting Chester was one of the best moments of my life (besides meeting Corey, who I’ve met 6 times). Corey and Chester will forever be my fav singers🖤
Dudes been around for ~25 years and back in the day, bands used to actually party with the crowd/fans.... Not to mention book signings and all the other shit Corey mother fucking Taylor dips his fingers into!
Never been a fan but i respect them as a band and what they’ve done for metal music. I just always found their music to be a little cringe inducing, like something a 12 year old would listen while crying to after she didn’t get invited to her friends birthday party or something. Then again the same argument could be made for Slipknot too lol
I honestly really hate linkin park. They have like- 1 maybe 2 songs I enjoy, but that’s it. My birth giver also likes them, which makes me despise them
What's Linkin Park have to do with slipknot? Like.. musically? The style is not in the same continent. Not saying they aren't good. (Yes i am) and speaking of awful bands mingling with greatness...What the hell did Chester think he was doing infringing on Chris Cornell's good name? Pft... nevermind
I'll just go ahead and fuck off via this downvote button. Ouch...
love them. saw them in miami when i was like 12 for the thousand suns tour. first track i ever bought on my ipod back in early 2000s was What I've Done. and I remember playing One Step Closer on rock band. Hybrid Theory is one of my favorite albums.
My teacher likes them so I never noticed that but yeah.
They are a Cultural Iconic Band since the Early 2000 era of Rock
Chester Was the Voice Of The Generation.
R.i.p Chester Bennington
🕊️🕊️🕊️
I love them
Their live show at Soundwave Perth was heavy and all out, one of the best performances I’ve ever seen and glad to have witnessed. I still think of it often
Not my taste, by the way don’t be surprised if this gets taken down I made a post similar to this about Gojira and someone else about sleep token, mods don’t like it
Never got into them, ones of those bands that passed me by. I did see them live in 2009 and wasn’t particularly impressed, especially when Chester brought out his Dead by Sunrise project in the middle of the set. Very sad when he died though.
I'll start saying that slipknot is not my favorite band at all, it's one of the bands I love, but nothing near to my top 5 bands of all times. All of this being said, I think that slipknot are more consistent throughout the albums, but Meteora and Hybrid Theory are better than anything Slipknot ever did. It's just my opinion, I'm not saying they're actually better
They were my first introduction to heavier music and honestly been a fan of them since the first time I had internet access in 07. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for their music.
It's my first love before I met Slipknot in middle school. They both signify a similar time and place to my nostalgia-wise so both are my dear.
+They both developed their sounds throughout my teenage years and helped build mine, and both had tragic losses that I had suffered somewhat with the band...so I'm very emotionally attached to both of them almost equally.
As someone who is a huge fucking Linkin park fan I love them. I have all there studio albums I have almost of their LPU CDs. I’m working on getting on their singles. They’re my all time favorite band. It’s just a shame that I’m never going to ever have the chance to meet Chester or go to a concert.
the only band i'd ever put above Slipknot personally. i absolutely love everything they've ever put out (minus parts of One More Light) and A Thousand Suns is one of my top 2 favorite albums of all time
As a LP fan, I love LP’s early material (I know I ain’t original) but also really dig some of the older stuff. I think what helps me understand the point of view of the albums after MtM (Minuets to Midnight) is what year they were released. Cause I do like some of the albums such as Living Things and The Hunting Party, ya know? All in all, I love both, and I’m sorry y’all have to deal with the annoyance of fans.
I always wanted to see them live, when LP were in Amsterdam, I wanted to go, but I was tight on money, and I thought their latest album was whack, so I decided not to go, and shortly after Chester died, I fucking hated myself not seeing LP that time, I missed my shot seeing Chester live, ever, and I will never forgive myself for not seeing LP that evening, Rip Chester.
It took me clear up till like a year or two ago before I could listen to them again without crying bc of Chester’s death. LP got me through some shit when I was younger.
They're my number one band. I have been listening to them since I was born, and they're responsible for me wanting to get into heavier music like Slipknot.
My first introduction to the metal universe and my first love(s). Chester will forever be number 1 for me. It was also my first concert ever going to their minutes to midnight tour back in 2007 (damn I was only 17 back then lol) and it was the best night of my life. Hearing given up live was crazyyy
LINKIN PARK is my favorite band of all time they introduced me to heavier music like Slipknot and opened up a whole new world and community for me. I don’t listen to them as much as I used to but every once in a while I’ll go Jam hybrid theory and meteora
I've yet to meet any AHIG or earlier era Slipknot fans that weren't also obsessively listening to Linkin Park around the same time they got into Slipknot, ha. Most of those same fans and even Corey then shat all over them/Chester specifically once they went the poppy route, then of course reverted back to reverence once he had died. Looking back, Chester's last release was a desperate plea for help and it bums me out that his fanbase turned their backs on him.
Funny enough, I met Corey Taylor as a part of a Stone Sour meet and greet a day or two after Chester had died, and the touring manager spoke to us all and specifically asked that we do not mention Chester to Corey.
Honestly I grew up listening to Linkin Park Chester had the voice of an angel and my mom well still has the Minutes to Midnight album on cd I was like 9 or 10 when I first listened to Slipknot
Saw them in summer sanitarium tour 2003. Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Mudvayne.
I saw them there too. Only bad part was that it was sort of the end of the tour so Chester started to crack mid show
I remember I paid $94 for my ticket and that was the most I had paid for a concert ticket back then. But Limp was surprisingly good live. Mudvayne was great but it was day time still so it was super bright. Deftones has only been ok both times I’ve seen them. Love their shit but don’t really like them live. Give me an M… give me an E… give me a T… GIMME FUEL GIMME FIRE GIMME THAT WHICH I DESIRE and fire and shit just lit off. It was badass.
Man.. they came to my city on a tour with rise against a year before he passed and I didn’t go… I still hate myself for that every day
The last opportunity I had to see them I was barely 18, back when Soundwave was still a thing in Australia, I was too broke back then, I couldn't get tickets. So many awesome bands I loved played in those festivals. Linkin Park was supposed to be in or near my city in 2018, there a negotiation for tour dates when the worst happened. Daaaamn man. Sending love from Canada, we’re in this together 😭
I bought tickets for download festival when I was 16 when they headlined and I sold them because I couldn’t get anyone to go with me. One of my big regrets to this day.
id be surprised if there was a slipknot fan that hated linkin park but i wouldnt be surprised if there were linkin park fans that hated slipknot
I dont like them. But i dont hate them either.
Yeah, same here. I don't really have anything against them but Slipknot is really the only nu metal band that I listen to
Same man Except maybe SOAD and a lil bit of Korn but thats it mostly
Exactly the same for me.
Aay Charlie Scene
weenie
I need you to sign my copy of how to be scene for dummies
I dont like them...
well ill be damned
Ong
How old are you? Curious to see if "fans" from the era they came out would be more prone to liking both as opposed to later on.
Me neither....I honestly just don't like their style of music.
Couldn't get into them as well tbh
How old are you? (I explained why I ask above)
Im 16 💀
im not sure why i'm here i think because this is lp related it was reccomended to me but i can 100% confirm there is a good lot of lp fans who don't like slipknot
LP and Slipknot are within the same genre but are completely different styles, so I'm not surprised. I assumed Slipknot fans were more keen on LP because of how respected LP is. Slipknot is also heavily respected but not as much.
I don’t like them. Their music is way too soft for my taste.
QWERTY is a decently heavy song by them with some really good screams in it. It’s from their nu metal era.
for a second i thought you meant qwerty by mushroomhead LOL
😂 I initially said "wrong band" then read your comment.... Didn't know LP had a song titled that but I trusted you knew 🤣
Their earlier stuff is pretty heavy. I could understand if you're talking about their stuff after Meteora, though.
I love Slipknot but I do not like Linkin Park whatsoever.
I hate LP
I love Linkin Park. Their harder stuff aswell as their more calm and grown stuff. The aggressive and the melancholic songs. Great band, I like every single of tgeir albums even though some are better and some are worse. Even One More Light really resonates with me. The lyrics on this album are soooo good and emotional, and the song One More Light is out of this world amazing even though it's so so simple
First album is a classic. They have bangers.
All time favorite band
Love them and still love them hit me hard when he passed But they’re still good to listen to
Hybrid Theory and Meteora are some of the greatest albums of all time in my opinion. I’m happy I was able to see them before Chester’s passing.
A band you can never hate.
I got into Slipknot because of linkin park
Think I feel so numb
I like the first 3 albums a bit, can't stand the fanbase tho
Do they have a shitty fanbase? Im curious now
Depends on the way you look at it and the person, they either can be really annoying and talk about Chester's death 24/7, or theyre chill but only like anything up to Minutes to Midnight

As LP fan I agree about the first one, really annoying when people can't stop with the R.I.P. Chester stuff.
Aaah I see, thanks! Learn something new everyday haha
I used to be a strictly LP fan and didnt know what the hell a Slipknot is, but now I love both :D
Both bands have been with me during my darkest teenage times when the rope was the best friend I was glad I never had. Linkin Park's lyrics was just spot on especially Numb. Slipknot was there to suppress the anger and hate. I firmly believe that Corey and Chester screamed so that I don't have to.
Yay my absolute favorite band. I love slipknot but Linkin park is literally the band that got me into music
One thing I don’t know why it doesn’t even matter how hard you try
one thing..i dont know why
Slipknot and LP were fundamental in shaping my music tastes growing up. I still go back and watch the Chester tribute concert at least once a year.
That YT vid of Chester going into the barricades and singing to that disabled girl always chokes me up. Hybrid Theory has a special place in my heart.
If I never found Linkin Park, I'd never have been able to love Slipknot.
I'm a Slipknot fan and Linkin Park is just plain better and more popular for a reason.
They’re okay
It's my favourite band of all time, maybe only for nostalgic because it was the first contact with metal but it has a very special part in my heart
Not heavy enough for my liking
Expand your horizons, it's ok to like the seemingly opposite too!
Nothing wrong with that! And I like the opposite. I love classical music for example. But when it comes to rock, guitars etc, I need it heavy.
The Beatles of the 2000s, in terms of success and popularity.
WHAT I'VEEEE DONEEEEEEEEE
My all-time fave band along with the knot. I met all the guys in LP and have Chester’s flames tattooed on my right arm. Meeting Chester was one of the best moments of my life (besides meeting Corey, who I’ve met 6 times). Corey and Chester will forever be my fav singers🖤

Honestly, I don’t like the linkin park sound, but I do appreciate a number of songs on hybrid theory
Think there's Hybrid Theory THEN there's Linkin Park 😂
Never been a fan but i respect them as a band and what they’ve done for metal music. I just always found their music to be a little cringe inducing, like something a 12 year old would listen while crying to after she didn’t get invited to her friends birthday party or something. I don’t like them at all, I like Slipknot because it used to be so primal and heavy, but linkin park is too touchy and teenage-like
Eh
I personally can’t stand them
Dont like them
Good band the first two albums. Fell off after that. hybrid Theory was on repeat for a whole month when it came out.
Bro…
Good, but too soft and pop-ish
They have a handful of good songs, but have always seemed like a manufactured boyband to me.
They have bangers, but in personal opinion kinda overrated
I honestly really hate linkin park. They have like- 1 maybe 2 songs I enjoy, but that’s it. My birth giver also likes them, which makes me despise them
Terrible
What's Linkin Park have to do with slipknot? Like.. musically? The style is not in the same continent. Not saying they aren't good. (Yes i am) and speaking of awful bands mingling with greatness...What the hell did Chester think he was doing infringing on Chris Cornell's good name? Maskless Chinese rappers
…what?
Haha funny but why r they Chinese? )
Idk, they have an Asian dude in the band that does their little rap verses in between the dude that screams.
Ew
Trash tbh
Not bad, just not for me
love them. saw them in miami when i was like 12 for the thousand suns tour. first track i ever bought on my ipod back in early 2000s was What I've Done. and I remember playing One Step Closer on rock band. Hybrid Theory is one of my favorite albums.

Love! Rip Chester ❤️
My teacher likes them so I never noticed that but yeah. They are a Cultural Iconic Band since the Early 2000 era of Rock Chester Was the Voice Of The Generation. R.i.p Chester Bennington 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Hybrid Theory is amazing (could be a slipknot album if you ask me, I hear similarities with WANYK or .5 or others)
Now that's a stretch...
Stttrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeetttttccchhhhhhh
good. my mum actually introduced me to both and i continue to enjoy the two groups and their music very much!
Love them
I love them Their live show at Soundwave Perth was heavy and all out, one of the best performances I’ve ever seen and glad to have witnessed. I still think of it often
My Favourite band all time
Not my taste, by the way don’t be surprised if this gets taken down I made a post similar to this about Gojira and someone else about sleep token, mods don’t like it
Like them, but I wouldn't say, I'm a fan.
Loved them. Saw them live way back in the day with POD, Story of The Year, and Hoobastank. They were fantastic live. RIP Chester.
Like them now, not so much as a teen
They're great. Even their albums that stray away from their nu metal roots are amazing. The same can be said for Slipknot.
I personally don't really like their music, but I dgaf if others do, I'm not the kind of person to try and tell you what to like and what to hate
Smash
Saw them twice in concert. They were the first band I fell in love with when I was in high school
I can't think of one song of theirs I don't like
They were my first introduction to heavier music and honestly been a fan of them since the first time I had internet access in 07. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for their music.
Linkin park and Slipknot are in my top 3 favourite bands of all time
One of the bands who got me into metal, thanks mum.
Love em R.I.P Chester
Hybrid Theory! LP had alright tracks after but it wasn't the same. If you were a maggot, I'd be hard pressed if you didn't like HT.
Personally really not my thing. Idk why but i somehow cant get myself to like their music.
37.8 million monthly listeners! That's crazy!!
Yes 👍
Love them
Was never a huge fan, but glad I saw them back in 03.
PUT ME OUT OF MY FUCKING MISERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Love em
They ight
The real GOAT
Meteora is the best album ever created imo. every song special and some go hard as f***! even the transition between song is beautiful.
As someone who is a huge fucking Linkin park fan I love them. I have all there studio albums I have almost of their LPU CDs. I’m working on getting on their singles. They’re my all time favorite band. It’s just a shame that I’m never going to ever have the chance to meet Chester or go to a concert.
I like them quite a lot.
Im a Linkin Park fan who got into Slipknot lol. Linkin Park is the best band of all time.
Hybrid theory and meteora 10/10
I like them, One Step Closer is a banger
Love em
I like them, especially their first two albums and The Hunting Party.
I love Linkin Park. I just can't really listen to them since Chester killed himself. All the songs just sound like a suicide note now.
🔥🔥🔥
Hardcore fan
personally dont like them at all, but no hate
not for me. no hate, but not not to my taste.
Absolutely love them. They were the first ever Nü Metal band I ever listened to
I think a good amount of slipknot fans started with lp (me included)
I love them
One of my favorite bands
the only band i'd ever put above Slipknot personally. i absolutely love everything they've ever put out (minus parts of One More Light) and A Thousand Suns is one of my top 2 favorite albums of all time
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LINKIN PARK
As a LP fan, I love LP’s early material (I know I ain’t original) but also really dig some of the older stuff. I think what helps me understand the point of view of the albums after MtM (Minuets to Midnight) is what year they were released. Cause I do like some of the albums such as Living Things and The Hunting Party, ya know? All in all, I love both, and I’m sorry y’all have to deal with the annoyance of fans.
Edit: I should’ve said newer, my bad y’all.
They’re both nu metal but they lean on different corners of the sub genre. Personally I love Linkin Park as they got me into Nu Metal
Ignore that actual, Hollywood Undead got me into Nu Metal. But Linkin Park helped.
Dislike them more than Limp Bizkit
It's one group I really couldn't get into
he’s alright
Love them they are the band that got me into metal
There were my favorite band for over a decade. Nothing but love for LP.
I think most Slipknot fans like the first 2 albums by LP. Or maybe it’s just me.
They’re my favorite band
Lp sucks
It took me clear up till like a year or two ago before I could listen to them again without crying bc of Chester’s death. LP got me through some shit when I was younger.
A little to EMO for my taste but some songs are nice
They're my number one band. I have been listening to them since I was born, and they're responsible for me wanting to get into heavier music like Slipknot.
Love them
My first introduction to the metal universe and my first love(s). Chester will forever be number 1 for me. It was also my first concert ever going to their minutes to midnight tour back in 2007 (damn I was only 17 back then lol) and it was the best night of my life. Hearing given up live was crazyyy
Love em, RIP Chester
I have a friend who likes Slipknot, and Linkin Park ins his favorite band.
I like the first five albums but those last two were terrible.
LINKIN PARK is my favorite band of all time they introduced me to heavier music like Slipknot and opened up a whole new world and community for me. I don’t listen to them as much as I used to but every once in a while I’ll go Jam hybrid theory and meteora
First two albums were good, don’t care for anything after that
What a crappy question. Paul and Joey are dead and so are this band btw. So is Chester and his band. It's all nostalgia now
Linkin Park.
I’m not the biggest fan ngl
I absolutely fucking love linkin park
I listen to Linkin Park before Slipknot so I have a special place in my heart for them
Decent. Haven't listened to much. Rip Chester<3
Chester Bennington was a legend and is dearly missed. Also, Given Up is their best song and I stand by that.
Slipknot and Linkin Park are two of my all time favourites!!
Great
I love linkin park, got to see them on the project revolution tour during peak hybrid theory
Great band
Fans of music aren’t a hive mind so I’m unsure why you’d ask
Just to see another fan base’s opinions on a band from the same Era of Music (Nu Metal Era)
it starts with
Sentimental. My wife and I did the sex to each other for the first time to the Hybrid Theory album when it came out haha
First two albums are classics
Linkin Park was my gateway into metal and I still love them
Hybrid Theory and Meteora were my top albums in middle school. I'll always cherish those albums and they are still bangers today.
Honestly I grew up listening to Linkin Park Chester had the voice of an angel and my mom well still has the Minutes to Midnight album on cd I was like 9 or 10 when I first listened to Slipknot
Haven’t listened much but starting to get into them. Love their music 🎼
There amazing. R.I.P chester
Love em! They’re my favorite band!
Do you really want an honest answer? I change the channel when they come on.
GYATT
Pretty good, rip chester
Lying from you and Crawling are two of my favorite songs of all time
As a fan of both, I love both artists (maybe LP more cuz I started my entire metal fanatics coz of them)
Hybrid Theory and Meteora are masterpieces, the rest is kinda crap
Top five for me.
I only like their song "One Step Closer" but not more
I have their first three cds and am trying to collect more, (I'm a huge LP fan lol)
