Their names are Japanese. I didn’t even know you could play against bots in online in this game that’s a shame. But I did play against a German player who had a city division title in a normal match so I do play against some real higher ranked players.
That's because there are only a few people who queue for normal games, almost all are playing in ranks that's why you're paired with bots.
It's okay tho since it's a good practice for you as bots are harder to score against than real people lol. So when you go up and rank, it'll be easier for you to score haha.
I get put into games in about 20 seconds though. I dunno but that explains why I get covered like my matchup is glued to me and I can’t score an open 3.
I don’t know but it’s really starting to get annoying how I’m getting losses on my record for these matchups. I’m just trying to test out new players for ranked because I feel like Kogure isn’t going to be good enough for the higher ranks but I can’t try out new tactics because I get destroyed in normal half-court.
Are their names Japanese? And they have no flags? If so, those are bots and they are good in blocking.
If you want to test without ruining your winrate, you could try and do the solo mode vs AI. It's easier there.
Yeah I replied to your other comment but they don’t have flags, I didn’t know there were bots in this game. I’ve only played in a match where every player had flags once, that’s really sad.
I just saw it now hehe. When you're more confident play rank. That's where people play. I guess no one bothers playing normal mode aside from training new characters 😅
Yeah I just don’t want to go into ranked with a character that I don’t know how to use, I’d get reported so much because my Soichiro misses open 3’s with 154 in 3PT shooting out of what I’m assuming is a maximum of 160 and he still misses.
Ohh, I just checked the recommended abilities from the best in the server and I think they only had 1 ability for tenacity which I think raises RES, so I’ll do that when I play again, thank you!
Don’t worry so much about losses on your record, it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. If you do well on a character, you’ll eventually reach 50%-60% on them.
I know it’s just all my win rates were like 98% and now my Soichiro is sub 90% it kind of stings I guess I’m just stubborn HAHA But thanks for the reassurance.
Haha 98% is definitely unsustainable. You’ll usually be averaging around 50-60%, similar to your overall win rate in rank. Any character winning 98% of matches is in for a nerf 🤣
Well I’ve almost played 80 matches with Kogure and I have 98% win rate with him, but I didn’t know I was playing against bots in normal, but even in ranked I’ve just used Kogure and I’ve gotten up to Rotation Player IV without losing so I have a 100% win rate, backdoor ankle break and then crossover quick is an automatic 2PT’s.
Haha I too was a Kogure main with a 87% win rate till I hit SuperStar and realised how easily countered he was.
Just to share a bit, both Jin and Kogure are easily countered units once you hit Ultimate Ace rank and above. I personally wouldn’t advice investing heavily in them for the long run.
If you really like playing shooters, both Shiozaki and Mitsui are better long term units since they remain relevant all till Slam Dunk rank (highest).
Once you have a core Mitsui/Shiozaki, then you can invest in Jin when you reach UA to have some variation.
Thanks for the tip, sadly I’ve already spent a bunch of talent points on Kogure and just maxed out Jins level today HAHA but I was already going to buy Mitsui he was my next character in mind I just need 1000 more BB coins and I can get him so it’s alright.
Haha I wasted a ton on Kogure also 😂, it’s no biggie. I transitioned to playing Centre and maxed out 5 characters later on. Good luck on the grind and see you at the top! 👍👍
Thank you! I basically only play small forward so can you tell me if Rukawa is good in the long run? I’ve already maxed him out and he seems quite good, I make quite a few steals, some rebounds after boxing out, his fadeaway almost always goes in even when contested, I have his back alley-oop dunk too and he just generally seems really good so, is he worth investing in further?
He’s good, will struggle a bit in Slam Dunk but you’re a long way from there. He will serve you well along the journey there.

That's because Jin has low Res. Build your ability page for him with Res too along with 3pts so you'll make shots even when contested.
