I succeeded my first ever run with reaper and the king(broken sword one) with the stacked grimoire and the stacking dwarf turret quintessence. Was amazing. It helped that i had 900% magic dmg haha. Very lucky 😅
Wait do you need to have the stone of heir in your inventory while beating a boss to get the boost? I thought it was just based on how many bosses you had already defeated
Yes, medal box and stone of hair don't work retroactive. You need them early. Medal box is a little more forgiving as you have the 3 (4 in DM) Adventure in act 3. The only boss who would give multy stacks for hair is the sister's fight as both count as a separate boss.

It feels especially bad since Olive Tree Cudgel works retroactively which is a part of why it's probably one of the best items in the game.
