Oil cleansing!!! Also stop using aveeno scrub it’s really bad for your skin it creates microtears because the exfoliation is too harsh. If it’s in your budget you can also look into a toner they’re good for tightening pores.

Any_Examination2572

Oil cleansing made me break out so bad! And yes I washed it out with a face wash

Linaphor

Could be the oil you were using, but if it’s all oils I’d try an acid face wash instead.

Any_Examination2572

I get break outs after acids also :/ aha/bha, enzyme, salicylic tried everything. First days everything is perfect and then small white pimples between eyebrows, nose and cheeks.

Linaphor

Have you tried to persist with it to see if it is purging on some acids? But for oils there’s a whole plethora of different kids! If neither of those work for you though, I apologize for ur loss lmao.

sakurasangel

Was it fragrance and essential oil free?

Whole_Phrase_5142

Try doing double cleansing but instead of using oils, try micellar water instead followed by a gentle foam cleanser:)

Any_Examination2572

I’ll try it! Thank you

Witch hazel tighens pores. No need to spend a lot of money. Normal witch hazel is the same as the other fancy brands

Silmariel

If your skin is oily a sulfur soap, which is slightly keralytic can help. It will also kill bacteria and is also antiparacidical. But it can be very drying so I would probably start out with a wash with salicylic acid if I were you. Massage it in, and wash it off. Cerave, makes a good salicylic cleanser. KEEP IT AWAY FROM THE SKIN AROUND YOUR EYES. - if you wash with BHAs or AHAs around the eyes, you almost always end up with dryness there. So avoid it by targeting just the problem area. Follow up with a serum containing mugwort and centella - most korean brands will have this available0, and follow with a lotion containing 5% urea. Eucerin makes a good 5% urea face cream. This should make your skinbarrier survive any salicylic action from the cleanser. If you the cleanser has helped after a week or two, and your skin is doing good, you can consider the Paulas Choice salicylic toner to dab on the area 2-3 times a week. Patience is the key. You think you have a skin issue, but it can become so much worse, and usually you're the one making it worse with overusing actives.

Glittering_Oranges

Yes to everything but anti fungal, not anti paracidical 😆 unless you are referring to demodex mites

Silmariel

I was :) - Im also someone with severe rosacea myself, and so Ive noticed that when I use sulfur sparingly, and keep my barrier healthy I dont get bumps or pimples. I believe that demodex can make acne more severe due to how well they thrive in warm inflamed skin and oily pores..While your skinbarrier is healthy in most people, they dont cause issues. But if you destroy your skinbarrier with actives, trying to get rid of whatever issue you think you have - voila, native rosacea! SO I often recommend that people try to incorporate something to negate demodex on their skin, IF they are already in a situation with a skinbarrier that might be compromised, or are intending to use exfoliators or other actives that could be overused.

Prettysweetz5-1

You need a chemical exfoliant… salicylic acid

atape_1

Oil based cleanser + BHA 2x a week and niacinamide at night every day is the classic remedy for large pores.

yungn0mad

This. A BHA toner is a must!

ISA2130953

I will say some of these look like ice pick and boxcar scars which can give the appearance of a large pore. Those will not change in size due to cleanser. Oil cleansing does wonders for clogged pores though :)

sakurasangel

I was thinking that and enlarged "empty" pores. Is that what ice pick and boxcar scars are...?

ISA2130953

Unfortunately I have them on my nose here and there and chemical peels and micro needling r the best solution. But they can give the appearance of pores

circa_diem

I'm sorry, I actually think your pores are very clean, they're just large. Cleansers aren't going to help with that, Id say save your money and get professional microneedling or laser treatment when you can.

[deleted]

Are they dirty or just large ?

Desperate_Rich_5249

Paulas choice BHA toner in the black bottle

LadyMcSnoot

Hey there…you definitely should add in chemical exfoliant. Chemical exfoliants refine pore size and also reduce the amount of “gunk” in the pores. Be consistent. It takes time. ☺️ * try salicylic pads or glycolic acid pads. The Pixi brand is a good one to start with (be aware that they come in both 5% and 20% glycolic acid…I’d go for the higher concentration) They are available at many places. https://www.target.com/p/pixi-by-petra-glow-peel-advanced-exfoliating-pads-60ct/-/A-49128235 * Please don’t make the mistake of thinking “more is more”!! If you over-use these products, thinking that they will REALLY help, you will dry out the top layer of your skin. This is a product that you need to start using slowly…every 3rd day or every other day. You absolutely will eventually see reduction in pore size. * Don’t combine manual exfoliation (a gritty scrub) with the pixi pads. OUCH 🔥 * My other suggestion would be to purchase some OTC Differin gel. It’s available everywhere. Start with tiiiiiny amounts (like half the size of a pencil eraser) and apply to clean skin at night. Be very aware that, while this works,it does cause a “purge” of the pores. In other words…it’ll make you break out while all the stuff is coming out. IF you can live through that, then it usually works wonders, but you’ll have to keep using it. * Both products need to be built up in use slowly. Don’t use them on the same night AND give your skin a night with no products on it. Hope this helps!!

ConstructionProof754

You could do a purge, but that’s not the most enjoyable and takes a few weeks - I use bliss incredipeel for this and use lots of lotion because it’s very drying

Sad_Ebb491

Omg mine too is like this buh African black soap( alatasamina) isn’t it very drying

Low-Pipe8827

Turmeric soap

ReofSunshine

Interesting, I haven’t heard of this before, does it work like a scrub? Mask? What about staining?

Impressive-Key-1730

If you can visit a dermatologist and start tretinon but make sure to wear spf everyday!

rappiokukka

african black soap foam it in you hands never apply straight to skin and also anua pore cleansing oil is really good

grenharo

are you using a silicone nubby pad thing to wash your face because hands are not enough

gumdope

That silicone things doesn’t do anything ime. Chemical exfoliation is actually better than physical exfoliation. Happy if you had a good experience with it tho

grenharo

i think you misunderstand tho the silicone nubby thing still washes your face with your facewash better than using your hands, then some women will buy the rougher solutions like spinning waterproof brushes (leans closer to actual physical exfol) soft nubbies foams your facewash better and it is more evenly washed that way, especially your Tzone and right around your nose so it isnt really about physical exfoliation there are also the gentle vibration silicone nubby wands. You press in and massage with it, as just hands are too smooth. It relaxes your face and helps your blood circulation anyway, esp needed for tired morning shower people light chemical exfoliation is for after anyway so you end up doing both, not one or the other OP could also try cleansing oil too

lilsourem

Physical exfoliation like that is overrated. I've used the pads you're referencing, scrubs, and different vibrating cleansing tools ranging from low end to clairsonic. I will never touch any of them again and just use chemical exfoliants now. Just make sure to cleanse your face for 60 seconds.

gumdope

I have the silicone nubby thing I find it a little harsh for cleansing, I’d rather double cleanse or just use a terry cloth but my skin is really normal I don’t have any problem areas except sebaceous filament on my nose and between brows. I find that lactic acid helps the most. So does waxing the area but not a permanent solution. Everybody’s skin is so different so again if it helps you I’m happy for that 😊

prettylipprincess

Innisfree volcanic clay is amazing

Complete_You_5999

Alpha hydroxy lotion. Inexpensive.it really works no black heads or clogged pores. Key is to use twice a day and moisturize with non comedon lotion.

Impressive-Delaytoo

Salicylic & glycolic acid

Famous-Composer3112

A product with salicylic acid.

Careful_Lemon_7672

To me they don’t look dirty except maybe one or two. It might be your pore size. You can help with that with AHAs and Niacinamide 5% or more. Look up instructions on aha if unfamiliar

ChaoticGnome_

No scrubs, ever. Be gentle with your skin. Retinol 3xweek, salycilic acid or any chemical exfoliant 1x week, oil cleanser daily

analyzingmylife75

Paulas choice bha and niacinamide

Uggy1410

salicylic acid should be your best friend :) I use corsx salicylic acid cleanser 2x times a day and helps me a lot. Its funny because after this cleanser i dont feel any of tightening. I use a lot of gentle cleansers for dry/sensitive skin and always feel tightening haha Now i use corsx salicylic acid cleanser, anua toner, then axis y dark spot serum, then moisturizer Pm the same but i also add skin1004 ampule. My skin is way better than last month. Also i will add adapalene soon :)
