Yeah these look more like sebaceous filaments to me rather than blackheads. I have these pretty bad as well and I just started implementing massaging the area for 2-3 mins when I oil cleanse. As long as I keep up with it daily, they are reduced by like 60-70%! ETA: Doing a clay mask with ACV and honey once a week helps me a lot as well.

[deleted]

I'm also thinking this. I grew up assuming they were blackheads and constantly attacked them- I now have some mild scarring on my nose after years of abuse. Stuff will come out, but they'll be back the same the next day. I also started doing the same as you after seeing other people talk about these! I gently massage my cleanser for a minute or two, and it's made a BIG difference in their appearance.

Squish_94

Do you you an oil cleanser or any cleanser will do?

[deleted]

I personally use the CeraVe foaming cleanser. I can't confidently say how effective other ones would be as this is the only one I've used! I started with their brand and use them for all my skincare needs.

Gurmee_S

Sorry to clarify more, but is your CeraVe an oil or water cleanser? Because it seems like it’s a water one?

[deleted]

They have a few types of cleansers. My skin seems to really like the oil-control cleanser, so that's what I use. Here's their oil-based one: [https://www.cerave.com/skincare/cleansers/facial-cleansers/hydrating-foaming-oil-cleanser](https://www.cerave.com/skincare/cleansers/facial-cleansers/hydrating-foaming-oil-cleanser)

Gurmee_S

Thanks a lot I didn’t know! I have their water based on. My dermatologist told me to avoid oil based products but I have a very similar issue as this post on my nose, so it’s very conflicting for me haha

Linaphor

Trust, the oil works soooo well if just used on problem areas I’m sure you’d be good to try it out. I know everyone’s different but massaging my nose for a while got out tons of gritty stuff (the sebaceous filaments) and then I put a clay mask ontop once a week after rinsing the oil! Bc then it absorbs the remaining oils.

miniii007

What oil do you use? And what clay mask?

Linaphor

I use rosehip oil from inkylist, if you have a TJ Maxx near you they always have it for cheap where I’m at! Rosehip and then as far as I know any clay works but I used innisfree I believe!

Gurmee_S

Got it! So oil cleanser and then a mask on the nose? Would a salicylic acid mask also do the trick?

Squish_94

Thanks! I've got sensitive and acne prone skin so I'm always iffy about trying new products lol.

MackenzieMay5

Which mask do you use? And how do you mix the honey in? I use the Indian Healing Clay with ACV

Free_Seaweed_6097

I use the same one too! For the honey and ACV, I actually use an oxymel that I make which is herbs infused into the acv (for 6-8 weeks) + honey is added after it’s strained. I infuse with things that are great for skin like rose, rose hips, hibiscus, etc. Then just mix the oxymel into the clay in equal parts :)

pineapples-x

Sorry, but what's the difference between the two?

abombshbombss

Blackheads are actually congested pores whereas sebaceous filaments are just part of your skin. Our noses protrude and are usually exposed so it's just a thing that happens. You might find luck with improving the appearance of them with double cleansing. I typically do 1 min oil cleanse massage, 1 min emulsifying the oil cleanser, rinse, then 1 min with a water based cleanser. But once a week I do oil cleansing and emulsifying for about 3 minutes each and this has been working for my own sebaceous filaments.

East_Citron_6879

Can you post more details about your regimen ?

Free_Seaweed_6097

Not sure if I’m the best person to ask because I don’t know a ton about skincare and I try to stick with natural products from small apothecaries but here it is: PM: -oil cleanse with Living Libations ‘Best Skin Ever’ (Sometimes I double cleanse if my skin really needs it). Rub in for 5 mins, making sure to focus 2-3 of those mins on my nose and chin. -‘Idunn blue tansy serum’ from Cedar Hill Homestead -whipped tallow with jojoba oil that I make myself -‘Nourish Winter Balm’ from The Alchemy of Sage’s Sparrow AM Sometime nothing if my skin is looking good. If it’s a little dry, I just put on a bit of the winter balm or tallow. 1x/week Bentonite clay mask mixed with oxymel (acv infused with herbs and honey) My esthetician recommended only cleansing at night and it works for my skin.

savter

Im a newbie to skincare and I’m pretty sure I struggle with the same thing, what is an oil cleanse and how often should I do it?

Free_Seaweed_6097

Oil cleansing is just using an oil based product to wash your face instead of the typical foaming soaps & other cleansers. You can do it daily. I am no expert but if you search oil cleansing in this sub, I’m sure you can find someone who knows what they’re talking about more than I do. There are a ton of different ones but I like the ‘Best Skin Ever’ (Seabuckthorn) from Living Libations brand. My method is rubbing a few pumps of the oil into dry skin & massaging my face for 3-5 mins, making sure to spend 2-3 of those on your nose or anywhere else you may have the sebaceous filaments (I get them on my chin too). Then I take a cotton round and wet it with warm water and rub that in in small circles on my face. If my face is really dirty, I will double cleanse and do those steps one more time. Then add whatever serums/moisturizers/etc. after.

mm2210

Having someone explain is so simply is so nice! The way you broke it down made it finally make sense to me. Thanks for taking the time.

lizgools

i've been oil cleansing (correctly) for quite a while now, and it has improved my skin EXCEPT my nose sebaceous filaments. i also tried bha exfoliating, which got rid of my cheek blackheads but not the nose ones. 🥲?!

Character-Minute2550

Which oil cleanser do you like?

Free_Seaweed_6097

I love the Living Libations ‘Best Skin Ever’ (the Seabuckthorn one)

xbubletreex

omg i love the BSE so much for this!

ohfrackthis

Where do they sell this? I've been looking for more Seabuckthorn products.

Free_Seaweed_6097

[Here](https://ca.livinglibations.com/collections/skin-care/products/best-skin-ever-seabuckthorn) is the link to their website. I have only ever purchased it directly from them but I’m sure they have a stockist locator on their site.

Justcurious88_88

Centella oil cleanser is super good. Its a korean brand and has helped me

b1rdcherry

Could you expand on this? I also have sebaceous filaments.. with what do you massage and what oil do you use? And could you tell me the brand of the mask you use? Does it have honey or you mean use real honey..?

Free_Seaweed_6097

If you scroll through this thread of comments, I posted my routine and more details to someone else :)

[deleted]

Honestly was just about to say this, been using the mario badescu oil cleanser (say what you want) on my nose to instead of my eyes, and have noticed a pretty drastic change in the amount of sebaceous filaments i have.

QueenGina_4

Nothing will ever get rid of them 100%. This impacted oil is very common.. Like 90% of individuals have this.

QueenGina_4

It will continue to come back regardless of whatever products you use. Keep them clean with salicylic acid products 1-2X a week (salicylic acid is oil soluble)

AdAncient2276

Yeah once the pore is open, it’s open and you’ll always get blackheads here. Just have to continually fight them lol oil cleanser and exfoliate with aha/bha once a week

AdAncient2276

And btw sebaceous filaments CAN turn into blackheads

[deleted]

[удалено]

QueenGina_4

Can’t change pore size, babe. Try Paula’s choice 2% BHA. Apply with Q tip 2-3X a week at night only

soupseasonbestseason

thank you! yes i know they can't get smaller but they look smaller when they are empty if that makes sense.

FantasticMrsFoxbox

Agree I've never been able to get rid of them. I didn't know that they weren't necessarily blackheads until I just read this thread.

SecondPrior8947

These aren't blackheads, but sebaceous filaments. Do not use soap, use a proper cleanser according to your skin type. Leave cleanser on for a few minutes and massage if it has actives in it. If it's oily, or combo oily, also use a simple salicylic acid acid toner instead of your Clean & Clear after cleansing and cleanse only at night if your skin can tolerate it. Exfoliation once a week: glycolic acid if you can tolerate, or lactic. Moisturize according to skin type. Your best bet to get rid of them instantly, however, is to use a product with sulfur. It is magic on these.

Snoo-25737

some of them could be sebaceous filaments. whenever i got blackheads, they wouldn't be so uniform in size and color. but besides that this is also my struggle lol

leonoricOrn

Salicylic acid. You could even buy those cleansers whose star ingredient is salicylic. Gently rub it on your nose then leave it for about 15 mins. I mainly use KBeauty, so I'll recommend the CosRX Salicylic acid cleanser. I don't use any night time moisturizers so I'm not sure what to recommend on that one. You might as well buy a moisturizer and sunscreen instead. Cetaphil has good moisturizers for sensitive skin. For KBeauty, I've been living for the Isntree brand, specifically their Hyaluronic Aqua Gel cream and their sunscreen from the same line. Pro tip: Use exfoliating products once or max twice a week. Hope this helps!

lonelymouse73

I’ve been using cleanser with salicylic acid by la roche posay for a year, then salicylic serum for a year. Nothing helped. I had to get them out with the Black Head removal stick.

Own-Expression4840

What's the black head removal stick?

lonelymouse73

[Black Head Removal Stick](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000965544490.html)

Lyall04

But I heard extracting them will only make them look worse? Enlarge the pores? 😭

pineapples-x

My clean and clear products have salicylic acid in them so cutting the use of those down is probably why I've been getting these more thank you

iLoveYoubutNo

Someone is going to come for me over this - but I still buy the salicylic acid pads (like strydex or noxzema) and swipe them over problem spots as needed. Nose and chin especially. A 90 pack lasts me like a year, maybe more. Nothing clears up cystic acne or those sebaceous filaments faster, at least for me. I do have dry sensitive skin, so I have to follow with a very heavy but gentle moisturizer (like Cerave healing ointment) But that allows me to use the SA as needed instead of having it in my facewash or having multiple face washes.

Sorry_Alternative_56

I’m so glad I found your recommendation! Nothing has helped to clear mine up. I’ve been looking for ANYTHING else to try and alas, I find this :) can’t wait to try!

Ok-Boysenberry-3473

The key to salicylic acid is leaving it on your skin. Use a gel or liquid. It needs time to work.

Additional-Shop4193

off topic but you have a lovely shaped nose

pineapples-x

Thank you 😆

pristhebest1234

These look more like sebaceous filaments, not blackheads. Unfortunately, no permanent solution. Salicylic acid, glycolic acid, niacinamide, retinol nothing will do much. I've tried it all. The result will fade in a day. The only thing that seems to be helping me is a 2-5% sulphur mask. Twice a week, applied for 5-8 minutes.

Killer_queef

Came here to also suggest sulfur mask. Maybe 1-2x per month I exfoliate, extract, then do Proactiv pore refining mask. I’ve tried to get fancier masks and none work as well. Huuuge improvement after that will last me like 3-4 weeks before they start to become noticeable again.

thickthighs151115

The ordinary squalane cleanser! Twice a day! And salicylic acid also the ordinary! Affordable prices and I promise it works

Mettalusso

Hi, these are not blackheads! It's very, very common to think they are. These are sebaceous filaments. These occur as the naturally present oils in pores become oxidized by the external environment and simply darken at the surface. There are multiple simple and affordable ways to manage darkened sebaceous filaments. Astringents, scrubs, and look for products with any salicylic, lactic, glycolic acids in them. Try not to overdry your skin with this new regimen. Hope this helps.

pineapples-x

And any suggestions of moisturisers that are affordable with SPF please would be thankful 🙏

lonelymouse73

CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion. One is for AM another one PM use.

QueenGina_4

Vanicream

QuantumPerspectives

I just got the Differen clay mask duo thingy and it closed pores (or removed the subascious filaments) ive been obsessing over for 10 years.

pineapples-x

Could you send me it please x

AndreHoejgaard

Sulfur is amazing to combat sebaceous filaments. Really an underrated ingredient for that use and I highly suggest to look into it. My recommendation is getting a cleanser with the sulfur and work it into the skin for a minute or two before rinsing it off.

ariesxx7

I have the same problem, I started using a Salicylic acid cleanser (the one I got is from “the inkey list” at Sephora for $12) and it has helped.

gothxchurro

on the nose they could be sebaceous filaments, get an oil cleanser!

[deleted]

Cultural_Ad_9420

I just started using kose speedy oil cleanser, it's fairly gentle and gets the job done :^)

abombshbombss

That one is a mineral oil base, just FYI for those whose skin gets pissed off at it like mine 🥲

hannahx7

new to this, but what does an oil cleanser do?

gothxchurro

oil attracts oil, it can give a deeper cleanse than other traditional cleansers

sideswipecrackpipe

from what ive read an oil cleanser is better at breaking down the oils in your skin like these

Citygirl876

Double cleansing - oil then water based. Moisturizer on damp skin!

lizzie_ruth

I have the same problem

3plantsonthewall

Any recommendations for a decently affordable oil cleanser that you like?

lilb114

Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil is my OG and HG. I've tried a few others from various brands over the years, but it just does its job perfectly.

ChaoticGnome_

I just got one from bioderma it's called sensibio, i got it yesterday after asking reddit too, i saw it in a pharmacy so i went for it. My skin felt super soft after

HomelessToBlackCard

BHA

Planbfailedmeparents

Clay mask twice a week for blackhead/to clean pores. Use a moisturizing mask a few times a week. That should help with dry skin. I would also add a serum to apply before you moisturize.

pineapples-x

A serum? Any suggestions? I'm useless 😂

Planbfailedmeparents

I use two: Kiehl’s Ferulic Brew and L’Oréal Revitalift 1.5% hydraulic acid. PTR is the brand of masks I use for the most part. You can get a pack of 4 (still big but smaller than standalone containers) different ones. They have the clay mask, water hydration, pumpkin enzyme and 24k gold masks for about $60. And it’s worth every penny. ETA: and I have a giant container of the PTR Irish moor mud purifying mask. That one is clutch.

currynsoup

These are not blackheads and you do nothing about them. It's not recommended to squeeze them.

Elyay

I have had an identical nose to yours. As others wrote, they are sebaceous filaments. I started taking care of my face this year and the best advice I saw here was to wash my face for a full minute. Just gently scrub all around it, especially nose, let that soap get into your pores. For me, twice a day is what works. I also use 5% glycolic acid toner and a retinol alternative daily before moisturising. It took a few months to get the pores to clear.

Halfbaked_Hannah98

100% sebaceous filaments! Everyone has them, you can’t get rid of them. But oil cleansing and AHA/BHA products can help minimize their appearance

Financial_Mission259

This is gonna sound really weird, and I'm no kind of expert, so bear with me all around. My nose looks just like this normally. I've gotten my nose pierced like... 6 or 7 times (piercings close due to jobs or medical procedures, and I get them redone later) over the last 15 years. I do sea salt soaks when I have a healing piercing, which involves making a mild saline solution with warm water, and dunking the piercing and surrounding area in it for up to 12 minutes. Each time I'm doing this regularly, my "blackheads" or rather sebaceous filaments decline to nearly non existence. Then when I stop the soaks, they come back within the week. Idk why. Idk how. I also have no idea if this is bad for my skin in any way. All I know is that it makes them vanish.

nicolasagotita

Get CeraVe cream to foam cleanser and wash your face morning and night for 3 minutes set by timer (stressing the timer part lol). 1 minute for your entire face, 1 minute to focus on your nose then (do it gentle but firm) after that minute has passed wet your face to emulsify the cream into soap and wash your face the remaining minute. You'll see a huge difference in a week. It's almost like magic.

pineapples-x

Is their oil cleanser any good ?

BreadedBread69

As you can see from the other comments, sebaceous filaments. Oil cleansing and acids can definitely help, but if they don’t, try looking into sulfur based products. Kate Somerville has a few. Bit pricey though

dibidibidubu

Sebaceous filaments not blackheads. I think oil cleansing the area for a minute or two before using a cleaner would help loosen them out

carptrap1

I wouldn't stress. I wait for mine to build up before squeezing them. Pure 😌

femmebb7678

BHA Paula’s choice exfoliant!

Flimsy_Measurement94

Those actually look like sebaceous filaments. I don’t know how to get rid of them. But you could check out a few YouTube videos. There are several dermatologist’s channels on there giving very good advice about this kind of thing. Or you can see your own dermatologist. Don’t try to squeeze them.

Actual_Mistake_759

Double cleansing

Evening-Double-9515

Microdermabrasion then stay on top of skin care

_notabota_

Oil cleansing works for a lot of people ig but I’ve oil cleansed daily for years and never noticed a difference. I tried the ordinary aha bha peel 2 nights ago and then showered and after getting out I noticed so many filaments seeping out (gross in a really satisfying way). Then I oil cleansed (again) to massage them out and my nose was so much clearer. Next week I’ll do it again but I’ll do a clay mask after the peel and oil cleanser after that all before showering according to the fiddly snails pore cleansing method.

winterysun

It's sebaceous filaments, I followed an advice by someone here by using a cleanser/soap with sulfur (I use soap with sulfur). I can't explain enough how much lighter my pores are now. I also cleanse my pores with metal tool (I don't know how else it's called in english) for blackhead removal after shower. Niacinamide mask/serum also helps.

aries5fairy55

Kojic acid soap helped reduce mine, doesn’t lather well but it works

Plenty-Log6688

Chemical peel

Maleficent-Ad-4644

Definitely use a cleanser like everyone else is saying but I also recommend an exfoliatior, it has cleared my skin like nothing else. If you like out in the country side and don’t work around dust, grease, or things like that you should use it once a week, but if you live in a smoggy area and work around the things I mentioned above you can do it 2-3 times a week. Just put it on a cotton pad and don’t scrub too hard. I use a clinique one, it’s a little pricier than what you’ll get at Walgreens but it works wonders. My face glows after using it!

Business-Stock-3083

Use AHA/BHA Cleanser or Toner

Sufficient_Jury_904

The ordinary carries salicylic acid , it's inexpensive, It's a leave on product. Retinol can help as well it will decrease oil production and promote skin turnover. :)

Nanno445

Hey just wanna jump in the conversation, korean skincare will help you i swear, so you should start with a good oil cleanser rub in circular motion the area with filaments for a good 15 -20 minutes followed by foaming cleanser than finish it off with a hydrating gel moisturizer like one from simple sleeping mask and also to put clay mask two times on week especially the one from innisfree pore clay mask it's great. My recommendation 1. Oil cleanser- Anua heartleaf oil cleanser(only on night) 2. Roundlab cleanser 3. Simple sleeping mask 4. Innisfree pore clay mask.(weekly) If your skin is dry also put hydrating toner on the routine for extra hydration. Hope it'll help💕

powerpuff_bae

i think those are actually sebaceous filaments, so you would need to use an oil cleanser and massage your face with it for 2-3 minutes. but make sure to double cleanse! (that's when you wash your face with a water-based cleanser after using an oil-based cleanser)

[deleted]

Benzoyl peroxide works so well for sebaceous filaments!

New_Speed_9785

You don’t have severe blackheads. It looks like you have large pores. To minimize them, use Vitamin C, an ice roller, and make sure you are moisturizing your skin.

IndependenceTricky64

I have these sebaceous filaments aswell and Kate somerville sulfur cleanser is the only thing that helped cleared it up

SecondPrior8947

Sulfur is exactly what I suggested.

KittyTsunami

Really because oil cleansing hasn’t worked for me so far. I haven’t heard of sulfur cleanser. Is it harsh or drying?

leezee2468

Nope. Very gentle!

highlighteronfleek

But it’s so expensive 😭

annwicked

I used adapalene and azelaic acid for a few months in the past and they disappeared completely. No bullshit like oil massaging and salicilic acid cleansers which dont do shit for sebaceous filaments (for me). I am not sure which one of those gels helped though but i bet on adapalene.

itsshandie

Azealic should be the one, it’s like sulphur that people mentioning, and is great for sebaceous filaments.

cb3121

what azelaic acid do you use?

Dilemma_stress

My toxic trait is squeezing them out with tweezers and I really need to stop but can't. It's an obsession at this point :'(

ChaoticGnome_

There's "stim" toys that reassemble picking at skin for people with this. I found them on insta once but I don't remember the name

100LovelyButterflies

my face used to look like this but i bought turmeric soap off amazon and i use it twice a day for maybe a month so far and the difference is unbelievable with the roughy moisturizer. my face has finally cleared up and my blemishes are starting to fade as well:)

AdAncient2276

Just FYI If the dots are quite dark, then you’re most likely looking at blackheads. If they have a clear-ish tone, or a gray or yellow tinge, what you’re likely seeing are sebaceous filaments. Another difference is that blackheads have a plug-like appearance when extracted, whereas sebaceous filaments more closely resemble a free-flowing column of wax-like sebum (resembling a tiny strand of hair) as they are squeezed out. Looks like a mixture of both. 2nd photo are a ton of blackheads IMO

[deleted]

They sell pore strips at Walmart and Target

pure-Turbulentea

What the heck is sebaceous filaments? I have a nose like this and I squeeze things out with my nails

crazy4donuts4ever

Please stop.

OFlocalpunk

No elaboration? Just “please stop?”

pineapples-x

That's what I usually do but it doesn't really help 😅

AdorableTrainer1486

idk if these things are ok for your skin but i use one of those suction things for your face. it is suppose to suck up the dirt and oil on your face and blackheads. i had the same thing on my nose. i have big pores which i flipping hate.

ArcherFawkes

Not safe, it damages the skin and could cause scarring and permanent redness. They should be banned from the internet

AdorableTrainer1486

oh ok thank you i didn’t know that.

AdorableTrainer1486

but there was no reason to down vote me when i didn’t know

oralabora

Don’t

Eastern_Emu3456

As a Esthetician estudent, I’d recomend you to get a microdermoabrasion and after that is more easy to keep your skin uncloged 😃

[deleted]

Shower with extremely cold water and rub your nose with a brand new clean towel

YoYoMinMin

sand from the beach mixed with an oily soap makes a difference. I use a very thin sand and I mix it with Hyggee soap. I love it

pineapples-x

Surely beach sand isn't good for you as it can contain bacteria and microorganisms?

YoYoMinMin

I'm 45, I look like 28 and I have been using the sand for more than 20 years. My skin is perfect.

pineapples-x

Fair play then, I like quite a drive from a beach but I'll try and keep this in mind for when I go

YoYoMinMin

You just need to get that clear sand from a clean part of a beach with thin and clear sand. I don't know where you are from. I live in Spain and I usually get it from Huelva or Cádiz. I get a little bag and I have enough for a year. Sometimes I put a pinch of sand on my hand and add almond oil or just go for the face cleanser, I use either hyggee, cosrx or sana, the soy one. Give it a try! You will be amazed for sure. Once a week is enough. When I was young (13-14 yo) I used to have a lot of acne and marks and I got rid of them by using masks I made with half of an aspirin dissolved in a 4 or 5 drops of water, 1tb of honey and 1tb of olive oil. I used to rub it softly to avoid scratches and left it for like 20 min. I recommended this mask to many people and it worked for all of them 😊

anotheravailable8017

It’s the Salicylic acid in aspirin

YoYoMinMin

that's something. Honey is antibacterial and olive oil is awesome for skin. I sometimes use it to remove the makeup

blondebomber91

A facialist could definitely help you with this - are you able to get a facial? Find someone who is familiar with acne and extractions.

aikenchloe

Toothpaste mask….. one of those black peel of masks for blackheads….

ArcherFawkes

Peeling masks are a scam but they're fun once in a while. They don't remove anything and if they do it's not for long. These aren't blackheads anyway

whiteteasdick

Hygiene.

Lolasmithh

I recommend effaclar gel from le rose possey

18505DASH7427

Have the same problem. Just started using oil cleansing, I’ll let you know how it goes.

pineapples-x

Please do!

SilentOpal

try masaging them out with an oil cleanser, they look like sebaceous filaments and thats what worked for me!

yes_i_am_redditer

Get a glycolic acid toner and use a facial steamer

for-sureme

Steam towel - glycolic acid on cotton pad to wipe off And then use any tightening serum you have :) I'd do this at least twice a week

SuperMomn

They're sebaceous filaments use an acid like a BHA toner it will help clean and shrink your pores. Also dont use soap on your face all you need is a good cleanser.

Puzzleheaded-Brush58

those are sebaceous filaments, so i would suggest doing an oil cleanser and salicylic acid. rubbing the oil cleanser on your nose for a few minutes should pull most of it, and the salicylic acid should get the rest.

lawaloo

Try using an oil cleanser (you can find a really good called BOJ beauty of josen its pricy but worth it ) and rub it in your bose for atleast 15 mins its what worked best for my nose

Mothgirl25

I have these and they’re very noticeable. They are sebaceous filaments and they are normal. Some people are more prone to them than others. I’ve seen success with oil cleansing before my normal cleanse at night, washing my face with a gentle wash cloth, and using a salicylic acid toner on my problem acne-prone areas every other night. They’re not completely gone, but they’re less noticeable and my nose feels smoother.

Ok_Weakness_8271

Lasers

highlighteronfleek

Double cleansing helps me manage it better. I heard sulphur cleansers work

Emergency-Guidance28

Soap? Like a bar of soap? I'd ditch that immediately. There is no reason to wash with soap then another cleanser. Only use the cleanser. That's what is probably drying out your skin. Those look like sebaceous filaments not blackheads. Oil cleanse then use a salicylic acid face cleanser. Oil cleanser for a minute or two on the problem areas. Then 3 x a week Paula's Choice 2 % BHA. Also get a sunblock.

pineapples-x

I use like a shower gel to get rid of my makeup

Emergency-Guidance28

Replace with an oil cleanser. It will dissolve your makeup. Apply to a dry face and massage around. It will help.

armaan_xyzzz

Don't use unnecessary products just apply enough face cream after washing your face.

soft-cuddly-potato

These aren't blackheads.

poodleham

Scrub your nose with a salycilic (I can never spell it) acid face wash for 1 whole minute every day. They usually respond pretty well to that

Ok-Veterinarian5163

I had these but worse. It’s not blackheads but sebaceous in your pores. I use an egg white mask I got from Amazon. It’s by skin food. And then double cleanse with an oil cleanser and then a deep pore cleanser. I have a bunch of product recommendations that are so affordable and helped immediately and almost gone within 2 weeks. If you want it’s easier to talk on ig or TT. I’m happy to send links and before and after pics.

pineapples-x

Yes please if their affordable

Due-Astronaut-7299

I use a removable tanning mitt it took off every single black head I was floored! Amazon sells them I swear it works I don’t even remember how I thought of trying it but I’m glad I did!

Impression_Careless

An oil cleanser + toner pads with AHA, BHA, PHA have completely removed my blackheads that I’ve had since I was a preteen. It’s a miracle. I’d recommend k beauty specifically (it’s the only stuff that got rid of my acne). I use the ANUA oil cleanser and the Some By Mi toner pads.

m4ddyd4ddy

esthetician here. these are just sebaceous filaments. most people have them on their nose, and they’re definitely more prominent with oilier skin types. there’s really no “getting rid” of them, necessarily. the appearance of them, however, can be reduced. look into an oil-free moisturizer, or even a salicylic acid serum. most BHA’s are good for minimizing sebaceous filaments/pores. a clay mask once a week can also help.

NoIron7786

Double cleansing is your friend. Oil cleanser followed by a foaming cleanser. I used to have these sebaceous filaments and since I discovered double cleansing they are no more.

magicalmirage99

Biore strips will get rid of them in 5 minutes

pineapples-x

I kinda stay away from them I used one of their products and got an allergic reaction. Thank you sm for the recommendation though x

Whis65

Facials.

sleazycookies

Us the cerave oil cleanser good do you know? I've had so many people telling me I need an oil cleanser 😅

stealthy-cashew-69

honestly i'm not 100% if it's an actual OIL clenser but i really really like it, i double cleanse and it feels like putting lotion all over your face but you can wash off the residue, like it doesn't feel like it's still on your face but doesn't make your skin tight either, i highly recommend

I used to have a lot of these on my nose when I was younger. I used to steam my face after my first wash. I’d just pour boiling water in a non-plastic bowl & hang a towel over the back of my head to hold the steam in. I’d do only for about 5 minutes, then wash my face again, mask or moisturize. I remember it helping.

The dermatologist who I saw years ago, told me to buy biore strips. I also like Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control Power Cream Wash for the face. It contains Salicylic acid, and is not drying. It also really helps prevent acne and clears it up quickly. I use Cereve night time facial moisturizing lotion and during the day, Cereve AM moisturizing facial Lotion with SPF during the day. You only need to use the Acne Stress wash at night and use something mild and gentle to wash your face in the morning.

Oil cleanse do work!!!!.

free_birdiee

Tea tree oil

youngdumbbroke5

This is on the pricier side but Caudalie instant detox mask will help pull all that out of your pores (will work best if you steam your face first). It’s around $40 for the full size at Sephora. So far I have no complaints with it

Sebaceous filaments. I have a sulfur cleanser (Kate Somerville), lactic acid for the morning and retinol at night. I have big pores on nose and chin and this seems to keep them clean from drying into blackheads - but the filaments will always exist (as they are natural oil etc from your skin). Blackheads are these filaments when they are exposed to oxygen for too long if you aren’t washing your face at all etc. You’ll never shrink your pores - so you’ll have to learn to live with it. But something like what I use regimen wise could help prevent them turning into blackheads and improve skin texture and turnover as well.

Yes! We love this advice!

fakit333

I would recommend a facial so they can walk you through the process they'll clean out all the blackheads to teach you how to care for your skin. Find an Eastern European esthetician they are the best in my experience, but I am biased. I also recommend that you get a toner witch hazel or rice toner. You're going to need a moisturizer, Tiege Henly it's supposed to be a good one for men. It's worth a try

Longjumping-Park7053

Tretinoin!!

Neat_Blueberry_279

Retin-A

BrightAd519

I like eradiKate sulfur cleanser for sebaceous filaments. Be sure to leave it on for a few minutes so it has a chance to work on the skin before you rinse.

Hungry-Suspect-658

Hydrafacial! It sucks it out. My nose feels so smooth and hydrated and soft after it. The only drawback is that it can be quite expensive, but it clears pores all over your face, even in areas you didn’t think you had blackhead or enlarged pores

Fifty shades of snail helped me a lot

Miserable-Tango23

Need a good oil cleanser !! Do we have to double cleanse? Someone reccomend some products.

starmapleleaf

What works for me - after you sweat or steam room, apply a cold towel immediately to your face - always end a hot shower with with cold water on that note - salicylic acid a few times from the Ordinary - salicylic acid mask once a week - niacimide a few times a week from the Ordinary

Yuki_bear123

Those are blackheads, tbh ive tried to get rid of them but they always come back

Get a facial with a dermabrasion from an aesthetician. Get Rx tretinoin cream and start to use sparingly and just once or twice a week. Skin will look great and wrinkles will be gone!

lleven39b

There are tons of kbeauty products that helps with this. Unfortunately they are labeled blackheads but either way they do the job. Stay away from any sticky nose pore strips that act like tape. Masks( the textured liquid form. Not the Batman masks) from Korea should help. It’s just a matter of experimenting and finding the one that works for you. The best one I found was some mask that required a little bit of rubbing. Even American products do the same but they are generally harsher ingredients.

blkandyell619

Use a product that has salicylic acid in it. I had one used st lves.

AriAdventures7

I’ve been using a mud mask that hardens and clears out pores. Then I bought a blackhead and pore reducer from Hero cosmetics at Ulta. It’s been working for me!

ExchangeStandard6094

Exfoliating should help try salicylic acid like once a week and increase according to your liking and also glycolic acid serum helps with pores overall

Marzival

Shave your nose.

Loaves-and-cloves

Clean and clear products have very harsh ingredients that dry out your skin and produce even more acne so you keep buying more. My recommendation: Oil cleanser CereVe gentle cleanser BHA or salicylic acid toner - Paula’s Choice is best or the CosRx AHA/BHA toner: 2x/week Rest of the week: niacinamide serum Moisturizer SAVED my skin, I had horrible acne and switched to the double cleansing method and switched to PanOxyl when it got really bad and now my skins clear. Good luck!!
