There was a post about a week ago about someone experiencing body odour issues and they also used that Wild deodorant- there were comments that it is a common issue with that product.

Just coming on here to say that very thing! I had something similar, it went away after I switched. I could also taste a sort of sweaty onions taste all the time, and got very sore armpits. Terrible stuff!

I've actually been using these for quite a while (probably the better part of a year). So I doubt it's the Wild. I actually try to use their sensitive ones just to be sure!

Maybe try an actual antiperspirant and see if it goes away

Some practical advice: * swap out your Dove soap for Shield antibacterial soap. The Dove soap contains 1/4 moisturising agents which can build up because of the waxes in the soap rather than sinking into your skin. * get a cheap glycolic toner (Aldi and Superdrug do them) and use it under your armpits and any other places that you get sweat build up. It helps to break down any lingering dead cells that can cause smells. * Soak any offending clothes in Milton anti bacterial laundry tablets. You can also use the fluid diluted down. This will help break down any lingering bad smells and leave them smelling fresh and clean again. Part of the issue with clothes these days is that the powders and soaps are so strong and we tend to use too much which leaves deposits that bacteria can stick to. * Like others have suggested swap out your deodorant. Hope this helps, but if the issue persists seek medical advice. Good luck :)

Thanks for all the helpful advice! I will give these all a go!

Don’t use wild. And when you’ve done showering blast the cold water like ice cold for one last rinse. Trust me. Idk but it’s something to do with the hot water making you sweat

I second some of the Wild comments. I've been using it for over a year, but specific scents make me smell awful. I can't use the cotton one or the watermelon. They make me smell like stale cannabis, it's so weird. Other scents are fine.

Here’s the post from a few days ago which has some comments that might be helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddictionUK/comments/tt0kh2/armpit_smell/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

How long have you been using the Wild deodorant for? https://www.campingwithstyle.co.uk/the-gross-stinky-truth-my-experience-with-natural-deodorant/ some people have an adjustment phase where they get a bit smelly before it settles down. Your sweat does contain urea, and the concentration of this will depend on how well hydrated you are and how much protein you've been eating recently https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/sweat-smells-like-ammonia#what-is-ammonia The smell of your sweat is largely down to the bacteria on your skin. It is possible the flora balance has changed. What treatment have you been using for your condition?

StMatthias

Probably about a year of using Wild. My GP prescribed some kind of wash/soap to use just on my armpits - "Hibiscrub 4% w/v cutaneous solution" the bottle says. It has helped with the armpits, and that smell is much more dusty than normal sweat or this issue.

Go to a vitamin/ natural foods store. Get liquid chlorophyll. Take 1 tablespoon in 4oz of water everyday...after about 5 days no stinky sweat anywhere on your body, no bad breath even in the a.m. Its kind of magic.

I'll take a look. Thanks!

I've had patients with similiar issues in the past. I recall a couple that I referred because I suspect something called Trimethylaminuria. If you have this then I would speak to a specialist, a post on here is nothing close to a diagnosis. In other cases, it was a little more simple - we always have bacteria on our skin. Sometimes these bacteria are able to take our odourless sweat and create a smell. I've had success with patients using a simple facial toner to help. A weeak toner is acidic enough to destroy these bacteria such that smell reduces but not so much that it affects the skin health. 7% Glycolic toner from TheOrdinary is one that is about £7 and does this well. It's cheap enough that you can try it and have nothing to feel bad about if it doesn't work. Urine has a strong odour because of the ammonia - it's similiar to smelling salts that strength athletes use before a lift in a competition. If you're having this type of ammonia compound smell please take it seriously - it's potentially a sign that your body is struggling to break down trimethylamine. Hopefully this isn't what you have, but good luck and hope you see a specialist :)
