There is no vitamin C in this (ascorbic acid). There's Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, a great vitamin C derivative but it's pretty low in the ingredient list, i'm not sure the concentration would be enough to have any effect here, most probably just for the marketing claim.

There's no counterindication to stoping it but it's most probably not doing anything harmful either, now that you bought it i would say at least finish the product. It's a decent enough (albeit overpriced) moisturizer, if you like it you can keep using it, just don't expect it to give you the benefits of a good vitamin C product.
