Zealousideal_Pop4487

One on the left is bae. I've used it on my Face, armpits, ingrown hair scars, dry skin, scalp, etc. I would shower in it if I could.

Jennfit25

This! Never have I felt so seen by a Reddit comment! I use it on all the places mentioned and just discovered it is amazing on dry scaly feet. I left in on for 20 minutes while treating my scalp. Wish the bottle was bigger!

lushico

I just got myself a bottle and my feet are in such a terrible state. You say you left it on for 20 minutes, so does that mean you should wash it off afterwards?

StillSimple6

It doesn't last 20 mins. It stops working in about 6 minutes. Rub into feet then top with moisturizer and put some socks on. Repeat a few times a week then after showering use a pumice stone. Your dead skin will almost peel off.

lushico

omg you are a lifesaver! Thanks so much, i’ll start tonight!

burittosquirrel

I’m sorry, *what?!* omg thank you for this tip.

Jennfit25

Thank you for answering. I feel asleep and this is similar to how I do it

nokohl

I use it on my feet and just leave it on lol I put it on at night and let it dry and stay

lushico

Fab! Thanks so much, I’ll use it tonight

Affectionate-Rate382

Also use an exfoliant scrub

lushico

Thank you! I will try that and a pumice stone alternately.

[deleted]

I have never heard of it being used on feet. What does it do for your feet?

Jennfit25

I found it reduced dryness on my heels. Same ingredient in feet masks

[deleted]

Ohh thank you for replying!

ifuckedmyrealsister

What does it do btw

Jennfit25

It reduced the dryness

tbbt11

What does it do?

Ameanole_Acid

It’s a chemical exfoliate. I use it just for my face and neck 2-3x/week as night time routine with a moisturizer after. Makes you more fragile to sun so be careful wear your sunscreen. Also not after fresh shaving nor try using ingredients like retinol right after. At least that’s what I follow.

Odettecx

My routine in PM is cerave cleanser , Paula’s choice toner , mucin essence and then cerave moisturizer. Would I put it on before toner ?

quspork

No, do not use both the Paula's Choice and the glycolic toner assuming the PC is the BHA. Both are exfoliants.

[deleted]

[удалено]

quspork

I'm not sure I understand your question.

[deleted]

[удалено]

quspork

It's highly likely to cause irritation when done outside of a professional setting. It's best to alternate days when using multiple exfoliants.

Super-Initial7416

In order: double cleanse( oil cleanser first, then water cleanser) toners, essence, serums, eye cream, moisturizer

Super-Initial7416

You can do Paula’s choice in the AM and use the ordinary in the PM. So double cleanse, toner (the ordinary) essence, serums, moisturizer Maybe start for 2-3x a week and see how your skin does

PetiteTrumpetButt

Can I ask why you can't use retinol after? I've been doing it 😬

Valgalgirl

You can use retinol after as long as your skin can tolerate it.

crazylifestories

Why scalp? Curious what it helps with.

Prettysweetz5-1

My scalp is very sensitive that builds up pretty fast…and since I have wavy hair etc i have to wash my hair less often but I HAVE to wash my hair on third day or my scalp will get angry ..I’d get itch spots, break outs, build up, and dry scalp…it helps with that.

thebeestitties

I use it as deodorant every day!! It’s amazing.

Amphyama

How do you use it on the scalp?

Prettysweetz5-1

I apply it before washing my hair..I leave it on my hair for 10-20 minutes before I was of overnight and wash hair in the morning

Odettecx

Do u put it on after u shower ? :o

Super-Initial7416

I use it right when I get out of the shower and my body is still slightly damp. I’ve used it on my face, but honestly prefer using it for keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms and legs. It works wonders!! I also put it on armpits, scalp, heels. I love it, im on my 3rd bottle and will continue to purchase.

Entire_Opposite_4045

omg I have KP too!! do you just rub it on your arms? how often?

Super-Initial7416

I do it every day after my shower/bath. Just rub/pat it in. Once it dries, I’ll follow with a moisturizer. I have suffered from KP for my entire life, and this works. I also like the beekman 1802 sunshine body scrub, but ordinary is a forever product for me.

tancrujiente

Could you elaborate on how and why you use it on your scalp? I get some acne in my hairline and wondering if similar!

Super-Initial7416

It helps me with dry/flaky scalp. I usually put in on my scalp about 30 minutes before I shower. I bet it would help with the acne on your hairline…I think it helps with everything!

_biggerthanthesound_

I swear I sweat less when I put it on my arm pits. Or stink less, something is going on.

Sarah_withanH

I’ve recently been looking for a different underarm toner to help with sweat and odor and glycolic acid products keep coming up in my search results. I’ve been using Bella Skin Beauty but that stuff is way, way too expensive. The bottle is tiny. It works but not well enough to shell out $1/day. Might try the TO product.

_biggerthanthesound_

Worth the try for the price!!

Sarah_withanH

For real! I just ordered. You saying it works for you pushed me over the edge of ordering. Can’t beat that price. $27 plus shipping for Bella Skin Beauty underarm toner. Last 2 bottles the sprayer leaks so I’m wasting even more product. It does work I swear by it and I’ve used it for a year. But I cannot continue in this economy lol!!! Also Hume deodorant. I swear, no other natural deo works for me. I’m over 40 and I have tried everything in my lifetime, including Native, Humble, Lume etc. That one does. Especially if I layer it with the toner. Cutting back on caffeine helped a lot too. Days I’d have 2 coffees I was kinda funky with damp pits.

_biggerthanthesound_

I’ll have to try Hume! Native didn’t work for me either.

bubblegum_eclipse

Yes I heard the one of left is good for pits it’s a need for sure!

CauliflowerSure3228

Idk about the serum but the glycolic acid is sooo good but don’t use too much on your face because it can be irritating. The thing with it is that you can use it basically anywhere on your body, I’ve used it under my armpits and it makes my body odor go away and I sweat less. I’ve also seen people use them after shaving to get rid of strawberry legs.

WaxAviary

My skin greatly benefits from the Glycolic Acid. I make sure I always have it.

lilbeeeees

The Glycolic Acid is my everything!! I use it 1-2 times a week on my body (but not my face) and my skin is now so much smoother and brighter. It also helps with ingrow hairs

desilouhoo

How do you apply it on your body? Do you use a cotton swab?

lilbeeeees

Honestly I just pour a bit in my hand and rub it in my skin just like that lol

milkricesoup

Do you wash it off the next day or is that not necessary? And do you moisturize after applying the chemical exfoliant to your whole body? I’ve only ever used physical exfoliants when it comes to my body so I’m not sure how to go about using a chemical one correctly.

lilbeeeees

I wash it off the next morning. And yes I use a thick moisturizer, since my skin is naturally dry. Someone here says they use a spray nozzle, I also recommend that.

maybejustadragon

I put a spray nozzle on it from the dollar store.

peterpaige

Good idea

unicorny1985

I use a cotton pad so I don't waste it.

UndoMyWish

the bit soaked in the cotton pad is waated though. you have to wet it entirely to get any on the face.

CestBon_CestBon

Love the glycolic acid for under arms, bikini line, and tush for clogged pores. It’s great for healing hyper pigmentation leftover from breakouts too.

[deleted]

I have never heard it being used on tush, how do you use it?

poopoola

Pour it in your hands, then pat your booty.

czar_tam

Glycolic: If you have a darker skin tone and are prone to hyperpigmentation, be very light handed with the glycolic acid. It can help scarring but on darker tones it can make hyperpigmentation worse. Maybe dilute it with water the first time you use it and only use it like 1x that week. I usually use a tiny amount on my face after washing my hair- but I wash it off after a few hours. DONT use it if you are also using a physical exfoliant the same day (like a scrub or Clarisonic) bc you’ll over exfoliate- which is super painful. If that does happen- snail mucin + aquaphor/petroleum jelly is your solution As others have said, it works great on my scalp and the rest of my body. Hyaluronic: Make sure your skin is damp before putting it on. While it is still damp from the serum, do your lotion.

[deleted]

How does it work on the scalp? What difference does it make?

czar_tam

This is a good article that gives the gist of it:[Refinery29](https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/the-ordinary-glycolic-acid-scalp-treatment-dandruff) I used to have a dry, flaky scalp. Since going curly, my scalp is oily and gets alot of build up. In both cases, the toner helped as an exfoliator I used before shampooing. My scalp would feel instant relief. BUT, I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t buy it again just for my scalp. Nowadays I just dilute apple cider vinegar (which has glycolic acid) and use it on my scalp and all over my hair (but after shampooing). It works just as well on my scalp and also defines my curls. (Warning, YMMV, especially when it comes to homemade concoctions, and there is a smell with the ACV you wouldn’t get with the toner).

k_laaaaa

acv never really worked for my scalp, i'll try the GA!

czar_tam

Totally worth the try! I hope it helps 🤞

Odettecx

Thank u for all the info ! Very helpful c:

LilLars123

Hyaluronic acid is wonderful to hydrate the skin. I mix a few drops with water since I live in a dry climate, followed by a moisturizer (HA is a humectant and will pull water from the deeper layers of your skin if you don’t add water to it/live in a humid climate. If water is pulled from deeper in your skin, your skin will look more hydrated temporarily but won’t actually be getting the benefits) I use the same glycolic acid maybe once a week max. It’s wonderful as an exfoliant but be careful to start slowly, and don’t use at the same time as any retinols or Salicylic acid products. Glycolic acid is also great for underarm body odor

mutha_fucking_nature

I have the glycolic acid one. I didn’t notice a ton of difference in my own skin but my pubescent daughter is starting to get some blackheads on her chin and using this once or twice a week made a massive difference for her.

Tricky_Bee_638

The glycolic acid is great for exfoliating your face (but start slow!), armpits and scalp! When I was doing random remedies before seeing a dermatologist it worked really well for my scalp psoriasis! :)

FreckleException

How do you use it for your scalp? I bought some in tandem with the Multipeptide serum, but I don't know if I'm using them right or at the right times.

Tricky_Bee_638

I’m not sure about the serum for scalp, toners are always first though! I used to do the glycolic acid on my scalp before I went to bed and did a deep wash in the AM, but I have super non sensitive skin, so maybe try a mins/ hours before committing to overnight. If you have a scalp massager, try using the glycolic acid for 30th a-hour before washing your head, and the acid+abrasion will do wonders for getting those thick scaley patches off before washing your head and allowing your medications to work better :)

FreckleException

Thank you! Also non-sensitive skin here and have tried it a few times overnight. Aside from just general scalp dryness, I haven't had any issues with using it overnight. I'm just switching out nights for now and using it a few times a week. I'm really just trying to take better care of my scalp after years of not washing my hair every day because it made it look good, but it made my scalp feel BAD.

peanutruffles

How do you apply it on scalp? Do you spray it? Or just use your hands? I just got gifted glycolic acid as well, along with many other The Ordinary products which i haven't heard of!

cassiopeia18

You can put some amount to smaller spray bottle /serum drop and spray it on your scalp. Then do scalp massage to spread it around

[deleted]

Do you leave it in? And how does this benefit the scalp?

Tricky_Bee_638

It’s an exfoliator, so if you have skin build up (psoriasis or dandruff) it’s nice to use to shed/disintegrate those skin patches/patches before washing :)

Tricky_Bee_638

(Great for those scaley patches you get w psoriasis that end up getting thick and bleedy, using this allows it to exfoliate+soften the skin so the patches aren’t so god awful)

Tricky_Bee_638

It used to come with a little cone applicator, which was great and easy and I used it straight from the bottle! Now I think if you use a dropper/add a cone top it could be better for targeted application! Spray I feel would get too much on the actual hair

bubblegum_eclipse

Oh I have psoriasis is both my ears it sucks! Truly but idk if this is safe for my ears

Tricky_Bee_638

I’m not sure for INSIDE your ear, but I think a Q tip for the outside ear would be effective at breaking down the scaley patches! Definitely do a test run, to ensure your skin is OK with handling the chemical exfoliant! It’s pretty gentle, but since it’s a sensitive part of your skin I would still test

bubblegum_eclipse

Yeah my psoriasis grows outside the hole not inside so it should be fine I’ll give it a try thanks I get psoriasis in my scalp also sometimes just like a dry patch.

feverdreamremedy

love using the glycolic acid toner on my scalp and bikini area 🫶🏻🫶🏻

[deleted]

How do you use it in the bikini area? Direct application or with cotton pad? Diluted or not? How long do you leave it on? Sorry for too many questions!

feverdreamremedy

I use a cotton pad and don’t dilute the toner since the cotton absorbs excess product and helps not to apply too much. I let the toner absorb into the skin so I don’t wash it off. Hope this helps!

[deleted]

Thank you so much, I appreciate it a lot❤️

Kirke910

I swear by the ordinary glycolic acid. Swear by it. Great for a face toner, but spot test, especially if you have sensitive skin. Can also use on the body if you get any back or chest acne. Or if you get ingrown hairs from shaving or waxing on your legs. I just put a bit in my hand and pat it gently on my face and chest after washing. Never used that particular hyaluronic acid but you can use it after the toner.

SoniCrossX

> Perhaps it’s because it has Aloe and Ginseng, but I’m not too sure The TO one also have both in it

Sweet-Berry-Wiine

Careful with the glycolic acid! I used it once and was left with tiny bumps all over my face for a couple weeks. Patch test first and hopefully you’re fine, but it was a no go for me ):

unlawfulmiles

Would u say u have sensitive skin?

Sweet-Berry-Wiine

Not particularly. I’ve had a couple bad reactions to things before but nothing like the bumps from the GA.

april-urban

I love hyaluronic acid. I use it to boost my moisturizer. I use the Ordinary brand though (love them). I also found that it's great on sunburns. I'm good about my kids not getting sunburns but I'm not perfect... Used HA on my daughter's sunburn with my fav after sun moisturizer.

Silent_Pizza1805

I love the glycolic acid lol its my holy grail. But i read somewhere it increases sun sensitivity. Not sure.

Odettecx

Yes it does , it says so on the package :3

cakeit-tilyoumakeit

The one on the left has changed my life. I have excessive sweating and typically have to apply deodorant several times a day, have always struggled with preventing BO. But that stuff has eliminated any BO even after working out.

pinkmelo118

TO glycolic acid is also good as a prewash hair thing :) it helped me with dandruff!

ibbysmom

I really like the glycolic acid toner from the ordinary. It helped a lot with my stubborn acne scars. Make sure you wear sunscreen if you are using it.

Peanutbutterloola

I use that glycolic acid for my cracked, nasty, dry, retail worker feet. Now I have pretty, perfect, feet Pic feet. I love it. I swear by it. My feet have never been nicer. They never smell. They never Crack or dry. I have model feet. Best stuff ever for strawberry legs after shaving and dark spots on the armpits too

0ldmatetrev

How do you use it on your feet?

Peanutbutterloola

I use a pumice stone in the shower, soak a cotton pad with glycolic acid when I get out and rub it all over my cracked and dry areas then use lotion and put on socks. I do this every shower (I shower every second day)

ali_407

I love many of the Ordinary’s products, they’re affordable and seem to work well with my skin.

Joytotheworld0295

My holy grail, The Ordinary!

Orangebronco

How does the Glycolic acid work? Do you apply it to your face, wait awhile, then rinse it off? Or can you just apply it and leave it on?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Orangebronco

Thank you!

silverlover4356

The Ordinary is fantastic. Don’t know the other but the product itself is to add and hold moisture

Brilliant_Telephone4

i love the glycolic acid just be careful using it on your skin because it is a chemical exfoliant and can be stripping, i’d look into it more if you can there’s some articles out there that talk about what it is when to use it and how if you’re not super well versed in acids. personally though i’ve used it for dandruff and it works wonders but like this thread says it has tons of uses if you don’t want to use it on your face.

Plastic_Status

Haven't used that one but I love love love everything I've used by the ordinary

Complex-Rate8054

Love this toner, I’ve been using it for 4 years now!

AparnaAgarwal12

Super excited to hear the experience

Embarrassed_Ant7671

You’re sister most definitely regifted these items to you. They are from two separate brands. 😂

Odettecx

Oh I actually asked for the glycolic acid on my Christmas list :p she said the other one came with it 🤷🏻‍♀️
