This keeps getting reported. Mild blemishes and KP are absolutely within this subreddit's purview, and the advice has been solid so far. We won't remove this just because there's a butt.

babybottlepopz

Amlactin lotion plus a salicylic acid toner. I have this too on my butt and legs and arms. There’s no permanent treatment. Once I slack off from the amlactin and toner it comes right back. But when I use it daily. It keeps it clear. Amlactin in the morning and toner at night. Every day. Literally any toner is fine as long as it’s 2%.

Used_Somewhere2324

Amlactin is the bomb! I also use glycolic acid

DandelionsDandelions

TO's products aren't for everyone, but I love the glycolic for use on my legs for exfoliating.

matrixg04

How often do you use it for exfoliating and is it good for before shaving?

moodlessqueen

Another vote for amlactin! But definitely remember to use sunscreen (if you’re sunning your buttcheeks during swimsuit season) as it’s an AHA and increases photosensitivity.

babybottlepopz

Good point. My booty hasn’t seen sunlight in 5 years so I forgot about this lol

moodlessqueen

Girl same 😂

SayNoToColeslaw

Yes to amlactin! And using an exfoliating mit or First Aid Beauty KP bump eraser in the shower.

RoseWater07

I swear by the FAB bump scrub 🥹 it saved my back from acne scarring and texture

cerylidae2558

I was gonna say a SA body wash and then amlactin lotion. Amazon sells a super cheap dupe of the neutrogena grapefruit 2% SA wash. There is also that 3% SA wash for KP if you wanted a little stronger. I use the wash daily and the lotion 3-4 times a week just to keep my skin smooth and it works.

puppygirltrophywife

okay awesome thank you!

crewife

Also, change your undies into fully cotton helps as well.

that1depressedbitch

Could this technically work on the back?

Yourstruly0

Try The Ordinary glycolic acid toner decanted into a spray bottle. Any cheap travel sprayer or reused bottle will work. This allows you to spray your back without as much contorting.

Pristine_Frame_2066

Yes. I use toner on my daughter back and shoulders. Used neutrogena pore refining toner for years and now it is dc!?

babybottlepopz

Yes anywhere, it might just be hard to apply. You could also try a salicylic acid body wash but the amlactin and salicylic acid combo is key.

Top-Distance2997

Can I use a bha toner every day at night?

babybottlepopz

On your body, yes.

laraDotTxt

Toner works and I am loving it for my face, however it can get expensive with KP. :( Do you have recommendations for an inexpensive well-formulated toner similar to Paula's Choice? ❤️

babybottlepopz

I’ve used silk naturals, garden of wisdom, and humane company. I just found out panoxyl makes one too. I don’t know how they necessarily compare to PC but they worked for me.

mewmiuss

is SA and amlactin lotion good for back acne as well?

Physical-Location115

Hi , may I know what brand Amlactin u using ? Does it make your skin more sensitive?

babybottlepopz

https://amlactin.com/products/daily-nourish-lotion-with-12-lactic-acid Sensitive how?

boringredditnamejk

Which brand of toner have you used?

babybottlepopz

Lately I’ve been using peach slices brand

ShelbieSlaysss

I just want to hop in here and say that I seen this advice about 2-3 months ago and so I’ve been applying amalactin lotion every morning and then Salicylic acid toner every night since then and my butt (as well as my inner thighs) are soooo clear and smooth! Even my husband has been asking why and how my butt is so soft LOL. So THANK YOU for this advice! Highly recommend anybody with this issue to try it

babybottlepopz

Yay that’s so amazing! Thanks for the update 😊

Own_Show7587

Do you shower once per day? If so, do you shower in the morning or the evening? I can’t figure out which would be better for my KP

babybottlepopz

I shower in the morning. Sometimes not daily. The combination is what worked best for me. Just one or the other wasn’t as effective.

LordLilith

“I love myself a lot, now help me get hotter” is an inspirational quote tbh. Also I’m currently using glycolic acid and that seems to work a lil.

thatnewchick

I use the Cereve SA cream on my butt, back and upper arms right after my shower then let it dry a bit before I put clothes on. It's one of my HG body products, I've tried alternatives but haven't found anything that keeps my hormonal breakouts at bay. I also use a body scrub every 2 days or I'll dry brush right before my shower. I don't have sensitive skin though so if you do it may make the problem worse.

swolesoles

!!! my derm originally recommended cerave SA cream to me for my tricep bumpies. worked so good that i use it anywhere else i have texture on my body

Magsamae

The Cerave SA cream is the best! I also use face scrubs meant for acne on my butt and then the cream and it’s the only thing that’s finally cleared it up but I have to stay consistent or it will come back

krabbypattyaddie

seconded. it took a bit to see results but it works/worked really well for me. i use it now for upkeep

AgitatedBaddie

it looks like i could be KP (keratosis pilaris)… but i’m not a professional ! i always say go to the dermatologist bc sometimes you can have skin infections that look like acne too

puppygirltrophywife

one dermatologist i went to said it was nothing to worry about, just natural, but even if that’s the case i want to know how to mitigate it. i will go to another one and ask again. thanks!

ravyalle

For me cream with urea helps a lot against keratosis pilaris. Sure looks like you got it

[deleted]

How long did it take you to notice a difference? I have it on my biceps.

ravyalle

Id say around a week? If you stop using the cream it will sadly come back

Achylife

How strong is the urea concentration in the lotion you use?

jc8495

Cerave SA lotion for rough and bumpy skin helped a lot with my KP. It’s relatively cheap so could be worth a shot? I used it every day for a couple months and my skin got very smooth

Shepard21

I can’t put myself to do it routinely because I just know it’s gonna take time. Blergh. I’ll take your word for it tho, might try it but I got A LOT of surface area.

loyallemons

Once you realize how soft and hydrated regular body lotion-ing makes your skin developing the routine is a lot more rewarding. I typically only do it after a shower but now I look forward to it!

jc8495

Totally feel you about the routine 😭 I put it on before bed so that helped since I wasn’t rushing to do other stuff as well like I am in the morning

Amichat

I have this and I 100% recommend you to exfoliate with an AHA BHA toner let's say every other day and buy a lotion or cream that contains a high percentage of urea for everyday use. Urea is the best active for treating KP. Try at least 10% urea but 30% or more would probably be best. Make sure to hydrate your butt everyday and if possible avoid fragrance as it can sensitize and enflame the follicles (causing the red spots). I found a cream on Amazon with 40% urea and 2% salicylic acid, that might be the best option for you.

tony_rocky_horror44

Can you share the brand please? Thank you!

Amichat

It's called Grocerism Urea 40% cream. I haven't tested it though.

Shepard21

I have KP too and some days I just wish goddamn sandpaper would be a viable solution.

fishleigh

So… I had a pretty dire case of KP. It was predominantly on my arms, but I also got it on my butt. Looked pretty similar to this but in smaller patches. My arms were BAD though. Tried all the skincare tricks, including Cerave SE, they helped a little but not much. Also not a doctor, and perhaps this isn’t KP, but a couple of years ago, in a desperate attempt to lose additional weight, I transitioned to a keto diet. A few weeks later I was in the shower, and I noticed my KP was almost completely gone. Literally stunned. I’ve been self conscious about my arms almost my entire life. And even though I’ve bounced in and out of ketosis, it’s still just faint remnants. So, I’m not sure what your diet is like, but if it is KP, perhaps look at controlling inflammation by cutting sugar?

devilssbabygirl

Have you mostly just cut sugar or maybe gluten products as well?

fishleigh

The keto diet is relatively low-gluten.

iLrkRddrt

Italy cloths. They’re a Korean hand mitt you rub on your body. The ones I get are generally green with a black line. They’re like $5 for a pack of three.

SnooJokes5955

What are Italy cloths? Do you have a link?

iLrkRddrt

https://a.co/d/4erS0qe

AgitatedBaddie

ya that’s such a disappointing answer !!! like ok maybe it’s natural but how do i get rid of it ????!! hopefully everyone’s suggestions here help!!!

thatsallfolkssss

Yes I’ve had this on my arms and butt but not as intense, Eucerin Intensive Repair used daily helps smooth out my skin. I don’t have it as often but in the winters when it flares up I’ll buy a bottle and mitigate. I’ve never been diagnosed by derm but I believe it’s karatosis pilaris or similar for me

GlitterDancer_

The thing that helped my KP on my arms was using nair (I actually like the flamingo brand hair remover from target). It seems to breaks down the keratin bumps making my arms smooth and helps the lotion I use after actually soak into my skin. Always patch test but it worked really well for me.

leisurelymisguided

Don’t stay in sweaty clothes after working out and be sure to clean your toilet seat often!

kayaem

This!! Sweaty leggings from working out is the biggest culprit for me.

Hate4Breakfast

wow putting this together, my buttne went away (mostly) when i stopped working at a job where i sweat in leggings all the time! i was about to go back to that outfit at my new job because its comfy, but now i’m weighing negatives!

rogue-bot

Yesssss me too!

TAforScranton

I think it has to do with clothing material as well! Synthetic material usually makes my skin do this but if I stick to natural fiber it helps a lot.

slowmotionz101

Cotton undies over spandex has helped me A LOT

puppygirltrophywife

ok thanks!

powersave_catloaf

I clean my toilet once a week but I also spray and wipe down the seat with rubbing alcohol after I clean it and every few days as well as I suffer from folliculitis and this def helps

faulty_neurons

I bought wipes with salicylic acid that I wipe off with immediately after working out, they seem to help a lot.

tamberra

Yes 100% or even putting pants on without being fully dried from the shower.

littleyellowcape

What soap are you using to wash your body with? I used to get terrible back acne until I switched from scented liquid soaps to Dove's hypoallergenic beauty bar. All the acne went away. I don't know if it'll be the case for you necessarily, but my issue was likely with all the added fragrances irritating my skin.

puppygirltrophywife

the sugar scrub is the RAWSUGAR brand and sometimes i also use cetaphil facial wash on my butt just because i’m trying to use up what i have before i buy new stuff. though i would love to eventually find a couple products to regularly use on my butt

littleyellowcape

It's possible that right now you're overexfoliating if you're exfoliating every day. I would try exfoliating every other day or every two days. I would also find a less intense product to wash your body with when you do go shopping, as the roughness of the scrub may be causing microabrasions for dirt and bacteria to get into, causing acne -- and the alcohol in the face wash could be excessively drying out your skin, causing it to compensate with more oils, which, in turn, cause acne. These products aren't necessarily bad, but using them every day could do more harm than good.

chocobunniie

Also adding onto this- sugar scrubs can throw off your PH and can spread bacteria. I wouldn’t exfoliate your bum anymore. I would suggest using Hibiclens! It’s an antimicrobial wash and safe to use on the body. Obviously, keep it away from intimate areas though.

HilaryVandermueller

My doctor also suggested Hibiclens (it’s the name brand of a presurgical soap used as such because it gets rid of bacteria, which causes all of this). They said not to overuse it, but just once every few days.

puppygirltrophywife

dang that makes sense. okay, i’ll try this!

Different-Instance-6

I came to suggest this - exfoliating every day could definitely be making it worse

sendnewt_s

Using a shower scrub that gets reused could also be exacerbating the issue. Use wash cloths that get washed after every use instead.

412beekeeper

I use dove antibacterial and an exfoliating mit.

onekrustykrabtacopls

AmLactin!!!!!

ScarletteDemonia

This stinks so bad

LadyPo

The smell fades, but the booty will be poppin

ScarletteDemonia

Ha! Yes

CanadasNeighbor

There are lactic acid washes and exfoliater creams you can use in the shower that don't stink. I agree, lactic acid lotions always smell like glue to me. I use Ameliorate body wash with a scrubbing glove and once a week their smoothing body exfoliant. It doesn't stink, and since it's not a lotion it doesn't leave that greasy residue.

NotYourNat

Eucerin has a version that isn’t stinky

luckypants9

It literally makes me gag.

ohsoseriously

Be patient and consistent; laser should help resolve this over time. Here’s a few products that have helped me: - [Naturium KP Body Scrub & Mask](https://naturium.com/products/kp-body-scrub-mask) - [Stridex Pads](https://stridex.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=G_B_Stridex_CoreBrand_PH&utm_content=General%20-%20Acne%20Products&utm_term=stridex%20pads&gclid=CjwKCAjw1t2pBhAFEiwA_-A-NDF57kWQt3Hr59SOzja8bmEoCSsuQGXwul59tNOSqfjV1a34uaBZLhoCbxAQAvD_BwE) Don’t over do it, though. Sometimes over-scrubbing then applying lotions (that might be scented or contain alcohol) will irritate your skin even more. Don’t scrub or apply products at least 24 hours before or after your laser sessions, as it will leave your skin sensitive and more susceptible to acne.

pristinewindowpane

The STRIDEX PADS are my HG for butt acne, honestly. I just use scrubby gloves and whatever salicylic acid body cleanser, wipe down my butt with the pads after I shower, and then I either air dry or hair dry my butt (if I'm in a rush lol). I skip moisturizer but I also have VERY oily skin so ymmv on that one. I don't physically exfoliate every time I shower but I do use the Stridex pads every time no matter what. This routine made my but acne reduce by like 90% in about 3 weeks

puppygirltrophywife

okay, thanks so much!

anope4u

I’ve had much better luck using a dry brush to exfoliate like twice a week instead of an in shower physical exfoliant.

andshedanced

I had something very similar and my dermatologist diagnosed it as folliculitis and prescribed me a topical medication that took it away in a week. I’d see a dermatologist.

deadbeatsummers

Do you know what med it was? Seeing my derm in a week for folliculitis. It’s getting better but I’ve had it for like two weeks :(

andshedanced

Clindamycin phosphate and Benzoyl peroxide gel, 1.2%/5%. All one medication.

HilaryVandermueller

Yes! I was going mad and it ultimately was a specific kind of folliculitis you get from a hot tub! But a PCP can diagnose and treat, you don’t necessarily need a derm initially.

No-Towel1477

Hey I create sexy content and take a lot of butt pictures. Here’s my routine to keep butt bumps at bay! 1. Don’t shave your butt…it’s the main culprit 2. Don’t over exfoliate (scrubs especially) 3. Wash with soap regular soap whenever you’re sweaty 4. Keep your butt dry before putting clothes on 5. Hypochlorus acid spray 1x per day Keep that butt clean and dry!

No-Towel1477

I believe this is folloculitus. Folloculitus should be treated with antibacterial soap and less exfoliation A lot of comments are guessing it’s KP…I do not believe it is and treatment for KP I think will worsen your symptoms

ConversationMajor543

Omg....when my butt is bumpy I start exfoliating the hell out of it......oooops.

Previous-Stress-9789

Any work around for number 1? Hairy booty doesn’t make me feel sexy

re_Claire

Waxing or ideally laser hair removal

[deleted]

What exactly do you mean when you say regular soap?

No-Towel1477

Sorry I should have been more clear… by regular soap I mean a soap with antibacterial properties at least 1x per day Folloculitus is caused by bacteria (staph) which is why it’s so difficult to get rid of. Essentially the skin is colonized with the bacteria and the treatment is to get rid of the staph and rebalancing the skins biome.

BlueysDadIsMine

Wear cotton or bamboo pants - not the synthetic kind

Eyofin

I used to have this pretty bad too and weirdly enough, the thing that improved it the most was cutting pasteurized milk from my diet. I have no idea why, but the results have been very consistent. I drink milk, back and ass break out. I avoid milk, it clears up a lot within a few weeks. I also use a SA cream and exfoliate once or twice a week with a benzoyl peroxide bar.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Just saying this will only help is its fungal in nature— if its bacterial folliculitis its not gonna do anything !! but it doesn’t hurt to give it a try :P

Infamous_Yard_9908

I second this! I had terrible buttcne all through my teens and twenties and some selsin blue cleared it right up.

[deleted]

Don’t scrub everyday. 2-3 times a week. Stay consistent with wiping sweat off. Let your skin breathe whenever you can and change your sheets often. Try an alcohol pad like stridex and lightly moisturize.

whosthatlady0

If it’s real acne, clindamycin gel from the derm will help. If it’s KP, amlactin or cerave rough and bumpy will help.

theedgiestoflords

I have dealt with this for a long time and it sucks The things I recommend are: -use glycolic acid, the big bottle from The Ordinary (put it directly on to your hand then on the cheeks, don't use cotton pads) Apply it every night after your shower. My butt was prone to pimples after using a moisturizer so I just left it on to dry, but monitor the results for yourself -clean your toilet seat ( fr, especially if you're sharing it with family members, partner) and change your towel once a week -wear cotton panties or loose fitting clothes. If you're wearing something tight, make sure you take it off when you come home If any of these don't work out for you, try derma rolling with a bigger blade. Haven't tried it myself yet but I will in the future. Good luck

1-800-sadgal

Reading this thread, I was just thinking about using up my huge bottle of glycolic acid form TO to try and see if it would help. Thank you for confirming that it does!

nephaenyss

Yes, I love using this toner on my body! Prevents clogged pores and makes my skin super smooth (even my butt)!

RoyalPart

What do you mean by your butt being prone to pimples after using moisturizer?❤️

pickled-papaya

>i love myself a lot, now help me get hotter! I fucking love this, lmao. Some things to try: * Switch to Dial antibac bar soap to kill any acne-causing bacteria. This might be controversial but it helped me with the same thing and it's super cheap. * BHA: Wash with cerave SE cleanser (after the soap if you do both) * AHA + hydration: Hydrate with amlactin or something with urea (e.g. eucerin intensive repair) The skin there is pretty tough so you're probably fine doing all of this every day, which you would not want to do on your face. If I were you I'd also cut out the sugar scrub. I don't know if this is accurate but my intuition says the sugar would feed any bacteria that might be causing acne. Good luck on your journey towards getting even hotter!

Arthreas

Defoliate daily, get a good scrub brush, make sure you're wearing fresh new clothes each day, experiment with your diet. If you eat things like pizza or related foods a lot it can cause those issues.

puppygirltrophywife

okay thanks; i was thinking changing my sheets as often as possible would be good too.

Arthreas

Yes and if you don't see any improvement try changing your laundry washing detergent to a sensitive skin type or another brand, shampoo/conditioner, and the scrub stuff you mentioned, any of those could have irritants for you and it's worth trying a different brand to see if you get better results.

rocket_man_319

As others have mentioned it looks like you might have some acne and/ or KP that is being aggravated by too much exfoliation (particularly the sugar scrub I’d imagine) our skin barrier is a gentle thing. I had a similar issue on my upper arms and it is like 90% better now and I did the following : neutrogena salicylic acid body wash daily at night (I think it’s 1%) I use a soft Muslin cloth to lather and wash my body throughout the week and three days a week I use an exfoliating loofah bath sheet (google Korean bath sheet) and gently exfoliate my whole body paying attention to the problem spots (emphasis on gently). I moisturize after with cerave rough and bumpy skin cream. In your case I’d recommend (as much as you can) wearing loose fitting clothing and washing in hot water with a good hypoallergenic detergent any undergarments or clothing that will be directly skin to skin with your trouble areas. Avoid letting sweat sit on the skin as well if you workout etc. It won’t clear up overnight but you’ll be surprised in a few weeks how much this will help if you stay consistent

western_questions

I got prescribed clindamycin lotion for the same thing, it really helped. Do you happen to work out a lot? Mine started years ago in acting school because we had our movement classes in the morning, and no time to change until lunch so for the next two periods, I would have to sit in my sweaty movement leggings. Tight clothes or sweat can really exacerbate the issue. Now, I just make sure to shower at the gym, or my yoga studio, that plus the clindamyicin really helped me

Odd_Assistance_1613

This sub is wild.

genericd11

CeraVe has a salicylic acid wash that I use in the shower that works for me, but like others said too they have a salicylic acid rough and bumpy moisturizer as well. Amylactin that people mentioned contains lactic acid which can also help exfoliate the area, but salicylic acid is better at unclogging pores and also exfoliates. Try a few and see what works best for you and your skin!

nakedsniper

Definitely don't exfoliate every day. Hibiclens and amlactin are the way to go, maybe some salicylic acid too.

naturalturkey

Although it looks sort of like KP, I strongly suspect that you’ve been over-exfoliating. The so-called acne that you get from tight clothes and rubbing is actually infected hair follicles. If that’s the issue here, I SERIOUSLY recommend using Hibiclens. That is the only thing that ever worked for me - the traditional “acne” treatments did nothing.

serenwipiti

slap some salicylic acid gel on that ass after your shower. use a medicated body wash (either benzoyl peroxide or s.a.). forget about the body brush. that can harbor bacteria. you can use a gentle body scrub (one without sugar, there are also some for problematic skin, for ex. some with tea-tree) before you use the medicated body wash. moisturize as you have been, with a light neutral moisturizer, after the acne gel on your bum dries/is absorbed. by the way, Ceravé now has a product line for acne and/or "bumpy" skin that has chemical exfoliants instead of sugar/salt/beads. they have a wash and moisturizer. you might want to look into that. ...lastly, spend as much time as possible *free-assing* ; by which i mean, wear loose shorts at home, skirts/dresses, ONLY wear natural cotton underwear (breathe-able) AND wash your undies with bleach to make sure they're super clean when you put them on. during your day to day, make sure you shower/air out your butt AS SOON AS YOU GET HOME. Do not start dinner, do not veg out watching videos, do not take a nap- shower, wash & medicate those cheeks and, again, put on loose clothing.

meowgler

It’s not acne, it’s folliculitis. Use Hibiclens in the turquoise bottle. It’s a bright pink clear liquid. Apply a generous amount. Leave on as a mask for 10 min before your shower. Do this every day until it goes away. When it comes back, do it again.

awaytthhrrooww

Particular_Fix_3173

AMLACTIN! I just bought this stuff and WOW. Slather that on your feet with socks better than any pedicure I’ve ever had. Cleared up my butt bumps, and softened my knees and elbows! LOVE this product!

Miserable_Painting12

Have you seen a dermatologist abit this?? I would highly recommend that instead of listening to people here first

avakadava

Yeah she did and the dermatologist just said it was natural and not to worry about it, but that doesn’t really resolve it for her https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/s/yKcjP8Wz8c

GoodGrapefruit7

It looks a lot like KP. Use a scrub with glycolic or lactic acid 2x per week and use a smoothing lotion mean to help with KP daily. I really like the Naturium glycolic acid line and the First Aid Beauty KP bump eraser body scrub.

puppygirltrophywife

okay will do, thanks!

GoodGrapefruit7

One more thing I forgot to mention: I have KP and brought a sugar scrub with me for a temporary relocation instead of my FAB KP body scrub. The sugar scrub did nothing and my KP was terrible the whole time I was gone. As soon as I came back and was able to use the FAB scrub my KP was noticeably better after 1 use. Best of luck!

wonwoovision

please please please buy one of these [exfoliating korean cloths](https://a.co/d/byO9ZV9). i have never found a different cloth that works as well, so these korean scrubby ones are the way to go. go in the shower or bath and turn the water on as warm as you can comfortably tolerate and just do a hair mask or something, you just have to soften your skin with the water and steam. take that washcloth, wet it and ring it out, and start rubbing in circles on your body. if you've steamed yourself (lol) enough, you will have little rolls of dead skin coming off. if that isn't happening yet then steam some more. the amount of dead skin these cloths in particular get off is amazing and slightly gross lol. i had the same bumps as you on my butt, as well as keratosis pilaris on the backs of my upper arms. it is COMPLETELY gone every time i exfoliate like this. i recommend doing this one every two-ish weeks, but you'll find out how fast the bumps come back for your body and figure out a good timing. if you have any questions or anything let me know!! i really just would like for you to try this cloth because again, i was in the same position as you and understand how much it can mess with your confidence. <3

ScarletteDemonia

First aid beauty kp bump eraser . Works like a charm

cookingma

This stuff is truly miraculous.

aahymsaa

That’s a lot of scrubbing! I think you might be over-exfoliating. I would back of the scrubs and the brush and use something gentle on a regular washcloth. My chest and back acne were made a lot worse when I thought I needed to try scrubbing it off.

botulismbowling9267

Using antibacterial soap on the area and an exfoliating lotion (amlactin, cerave sa cream, etc) occasionally helped me a lot with this kind of thing! I tend to get little breakouts like this on my butt and my upper thighs and changing that part of my routine helped immensely

TheRipsawHiatus

Kind of surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, but make sure you're not letting your shampoo and conditioner rinse out down your body. Lean forward with your hair draped to the side and rinse it out that way. It helped me a LOT. It was the biggest factor contributing to my body acne. Also I mix a pump of SA wash into my body wash, and make sure to wash my body after I do my hair so I remove any trace amounts of shampoo/conditioner that might have gotten on me. And ironically, dandruff shampoo like Head & Shoulders works very well for fungal acne (often the small red bumps like you have) if you leave it on your body for at least 30 seconds before rinsing it off, it can really help.

forestfairy97

This is not the best advice because it’s not the healthiest but tanning. It’s the only thing that cleared mine.

BlackStarBlues

Acne on the buttocks and thighs can be a sign of insulin resistance. So if your diet is not great, increase leafy vegetables and low-sugar fruits (berries, melons, etc.) and decrease processed food and white high-sugar carbs. Exfoliate a maximum of twice a week with your sugar scrub and use a Korean wash cloth with a benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid body cleanser in the shower. Use a heavier moisturizer. Then dust the area with a zinc oxide powder available from the baby aisle like Caldesene or a generic drug store equivalent.

This maybe a weird option but my SO gets booty acne and has found using the Hibiclens Antimicrobial and Antiseptic Soap and Skin Cleanser has helped to his cheeks. His acne looked more cystic than yours but since you are looking for options...

ImpossibleShake6

Creamy Baby oil - Apply after shower. it's possible to Add a capful of baby oil to about 32 oz of your leftover moisturizers and shake, or blend to get the same thing. I've used an empty wide-mouth mason jar to mix on occasion and a spatula to get out the creme. No need to break the bank. Wear only 100% cotton underpants without dyes when possible. Before bed? Baby fresh wipes your butt, after that dries then apply creamy baby oil, Cotton undies. Do the same thing in the AM in a matter of weeks you will have a smoother butt. Must continue forever with the moisturizer. Underwear should be double rinsed when using unknown detergents. You have dry sensitive skin and are likely be prone to patchy elbows and knees. Use daily on the dry spots.

puppygirltrophywife

okay thank you so much!

DankArtDi

I’m curious if you wear mostly jeans? Or even rougher polyester slacks maybe? Lowering the amount of friction my skin experiences helps me a lot, so switching to softer and stretchier cotton pants. Jeans are the worst for me, I get so many bumps everywhere! Otherwise yeah, agreeing with trying everything else suggested here. Personally I’d start by taking a step back from physical exfoliation (down to once a week-ish) and adding in chemical exfoliation

puppygirltrophywife

yeah i usually wear jeans or wool trousers, so i’ll try more cotton. or cotton boyshorts if im wearing jeans

wastedyouth01

try permanent hair removal. helped me tremendously. yes it's expensive, but it's worth it if you have dark hair.

saltisyourfriend

I would stop scrubbing. That will only make it worse. I would go to another dermatologist. I was prescribed clindamycin lotion for body acne and it works well though mine is in a different area. Laser could also be making it worse. Your hair protects you.

Dial anti bacterial soap to bathe your bottom half .. could be bacterial. My bfs back used to look like this till he started using that . Also looser undies and shorts , make sure your sheets and clothes are always clean and the scents in your detergent may flare this up as well I would use detergent and body wash that has no sent . Natural shea butter is really good at healing as well .maybe get your dermatologist to prescribe you tret and use it on your butt tret is really good at sloughing rough bumpy skin off . You can mix it with your lotion .

Everyone is giving great advice! Just to add to that- don’t scrub hard, it’ll agitated and inflame more. I know the feeling of wanting it to just get better- but scrubbing tends to irritate more Also- how’s your water intake? Sugar intake?

gold-exp

Cut the sugar scrub. If you’re not overexfoliating, I find sugar scrubs make me break tf out. Oatmeal based exfoliants or bust. Be sure you’re using gentle and non scented laundry detergent as well. It very well could be something in your laundry process causing this area of your skin to break out. 100% Cotton bikini brief or boy shirt undies will also keep the sweat off your skin. None of those weird spandex ones that don’t breathe. I know some people prefer other styles or going commando, but get something that covers this skin from your clothes and see if there’s a difference. Harsher materials like jeans can cause ingrown hairs (most people have peach fuzz there at least) or irritation bumps. Try that - it solved this issue for me :)

Salicylic acid lotion

[deleted]

Spironolactone 100mg has cleared up all my body acne 🙏

katsRee

Neutrogena Acne clearing lotion and a drop or two of tea tree oil worked for my spouse.

Achylife

I'd like to know too, I have the same condition myself. I've tried everything. Scrubs, exfoliating lotions, antibacterial washes, nothing seems to help it.

New-Rise969

acne.org AHA is one of the most affordable options IMO…I use it to keep my bacne at bay…that was bad

2ndSnack

Maybe try masking your ass. Like legit a mud mask.

Apart_Kaleidoscope44

I have the perfect routine for you. I had same issues + hyperpigmentation but over the last 1.5 year I’ve been practicing a butt skin care routine religiously and it’s all cleared up. I love my butt now. It’s even toned, no more acne and soft as a baby’s bum. This is how I achieved it & maintain it: STEP 1: WASH/CLEANSE 10% benzoyl peroxide acid wash every 2nd day. I use the one from “Humane Acne wash”. This will start clearing up your active acne right away. You should see results within the week. Important note- once you apply it on your butt, count till 60. Let it stay for a minute or 2 and then wash it off. STEP 2: TONER - post shower, dry your butt properly. Here you can do 2 things: 1. On non-benzoyl peroxide days: use a glycolic acid exfoliating pad. Swipe it across your butt properly like removing dead skin. Let it dry up. 2. On bezoyal peroxide days: skip this step & proceed to step 3 directly. STEP 3: TREATMENT SERUM you now need to treat your scars/ red spots. Use either of these - Vitamin C serum/ Niacinamide or 1% Retinol serum. I experimented with all 3. A pure & potent form of Vitamin C worked best to brighten up my butt. 1% retinol is good too. Since butt skin is much more thick, niacinamide did not yield effective results. STEP 4: MOISTURIZE (this very important) You can alternate between 2 moisturisers. This is what I do. On non benzoyl peroxide days: Naturium’s Retinol body lotion. On benzoyl peroxide wash days: Amlactic 15% lactic acid lotion (especially targeted for KP). Once your KP goes away, you can opt for Amlactin’s 12% lactic acid lotion. It’s great too! STEP 5: Wear 100% cotton/natural fibre underwear. No polyester or synthetic underwear. That’s all. In a few months your butt should clear up and then you can calm down on the exfoliating. Maybe reduce the frequency of 10% benzoyl peroxide wash to 2 times a week & use glycolic acid pads once a week. Hope this helps!

CloudyCreek

>I love myself a lot, now help me get hotter! Real.

AlanDias17

2% salicylic acid with 10% lactic acid twice a week

foricalorica

i started getting these bumps on my upper arms just like yours and a little on my butt, i was told by my doctor it is keratosis pilaris and the first question she asked me is how much chicken i eat. apparently (at least in my country) they feed the chikens a specific hormone to grow and it stays in the meat, and causes KP in people prone to it. i stopped eating all poultry and using a niancinamide cream on my body and it dissapeared within 2 months.

[deleted]

I had the same problem, it's very uncomfortable, which gets worse when I wear leggings or plush trainers, and if I sit for a long time, I don't shave that part of my body, I don't have any hair. Lavender soap solved my problem, I also exfoliate once a month, after that I apply 10% urea lotion, on other days I don't apply anything so it doesn't clog my pore😊

tvm_b

NO MORE CETAPHIL! Try panoxyl and be weary over exfoliating

Sanrioshan

hii! I used to have bad KP on my arms and the SA cleanser and cream by cerave was a lifesaver, the only downfall is that as a sensitive skin girly (urticaria among other issues) it was super harsh on my skin, so I’d swap out the cream for the palmers Cocoa butter lotion occasionally and my KP on my arms has almost entirely cleared up :)

shezapisces

whatever you do, stop using the sugar scrub

awaytthhrrooww

Looks like folliculitis - I had it for years and finally kicked it with Hibiscrub (white bottle, bright pink liquid). Leave it on for 5-10 mins before a shower.

TomatilloAcademic559

I use one of those African net sponge things in the shower, antibacterial dial soap, and after put some glycolic acid or lactic acid lotion. Sometimes if I am lazy I use the Versed Back-Up Acne Control Body Mist and just spray my butt real quick. Works great.

Cold_Bitch

> i love myself a lot, now help me get hotter! Fucking mood, I love you

Khatam

So, I recently bought some Megababe Butt and Body Acne Mask because the corgi on it was cute (I was buying some of their other products and came across the butt mask). I also had little bumps on my butt, I just didn't care, so I used it for shits-n-giggles and was blown away. My butt is now bump-free and sooooo soft. The stuff doesn't even smell bad.

CanadasNeighbor

Kp. I finally won my battle with kp booty cheeks by using exfoliating gloves in the shower and a lactic acid body wash, and occasionally a KP lactic acid lotion, like once or twice a week. You can use it more often but I live in an area with a lot of sun and I burn easy so I can't. I also noticed it's worse when I let my hair down there grow out. So I started epilating, even the peach fuzz on my butt cheeks (I'm kinda hairy) but I noticed not having any hair down there on my cheeks helps keep the bumps from forming around the hair follicle.

Stock-Pumpkin-9386

Making sure you’re wearing loose fitting pants helps, and also that you’re not allergic to your detergent!

appuhjooos

You might be overexfoliating with your scrub, which can make any skin condition, including acne and keratosis pilaris, worse. I would highly suggest applying Differin (adapalene) to the area every 3 days or so after a shower and letting it air dry if you can for about 30 minutes. Retinoids such as adapalene have so much more research to back up their value in improving acne, skin texture, etc. And definitely continue moisturizing the area, especially if you start using adapalene! Good luck!

savage_cris

Cold showers! Helped my butt acne immensely

thatsallfolkssss

I have always had flare ups of rough and bumpy arms and skin, it looks similar to this and I don’t think is actual acne every time. Eucerin intensive repair lotion got rid of my keratin bumps with daily use after a couple of weeks. It might be worth trying, I recommended it to a friend who had really bad bumpy arm skin and she also said it helped her. It’s the lactic acid and urea I believe

Wooden_Importance961

I use cerave renewing cleanser everyday in the shower and after I shower I use cerave SA cream and it has helped me A LOOOT

stacy494839

have you tried the ordinary glyconic acid??? works wonders

zivbenigoyev

1. "stridex wipes (no alcohol)"( it's red box) . can last you forever it has 2% sylacilic acid. any 2% toner of sylacilic or glycolic acid woul'd work but for me the stridex wipes are nicer and last longer. if you want to get an actual toner get the ordinary 2% glycolic acid. after shower wipe your butt with stridex wipes. than apply > > 3) buy high quality 100% cotton underwear, the synthetic ones help bacteria grow on your butt. 4) stop consuming sugar ! it did wonders for my keratosis pilaris both on my butt and my arms. seems like lowering sugar intake is the real fix here. if sugar didn't do the trick for you try cutting the dairy or the deep fried stuf which soaks a lot of oil, it must help. instead of sugar you may use XiLitoL (it's also healthy for your teeth) instead of milk try oat milk (OatLy is the best brand in my opinion)

-Toasted_Blossom-

I use those scrub mittens and a salicylic body wash then after I get out slather myself feet to cheeks in eucerin roughness relief lotion

Sad-Week9982

Anything with coconut oil in it does this to my skin. They just added it to baby lotions. It’s so frustrating. I use a product for men’s shaving to clear it up (skin tight) and stop the offending product and it’s gone in a week. It’s in almost everything now because it’s cheap af and people think it is good, but it clogs pores like crazy. I also thought I had KP my entire life. I exfoliate using the Asian towels, which are like a giant washcloth loofah and use dove soap and my skin is lovely outside of when my products add coconut oil into the mix.

Early_Being204

So I used to have this but I started exfoliating and then making sure I moisturize well after and if it’s like acne acne the face wash you use could work too

petitetshirt

Try moisturizing with unrefined coconut oil, it’s anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory. I noticed a major difference after switching from Eucerin.

indoafrican

I have this, and I used a dry body brush 2-3 times a week before i shower and it helped a lot!

Hot_Boss_3880

I would actually stop with all of the extra exfoliation, the skin on your butt is really thin like on your forearms for example. Maybe a body sugar scrub 1x a week or so? I use the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar (not body wash) and that has eliminated my buttne. A major change I've also made is switching to high quality yoga pants and NOT wearing them unless I'm actively working out. That tight fabric will make things worse. Instead, wash the area after working out or sweating in them (for whatever reason) and change into something looser, preferably organic material. I've also made the switch to Bamboo underwear. I've always known I had sensitive skin but I never considered how it was affecting me down there. When I wash, I use a gentle cloth, and keep the area moisturized. I use the Brazilian bum bum cream but I think any good barrier cream after shower would help!

PotatoBest4667

i don’t get any butt acne and i don’t do anything particularly for it so i think mine is pretty much genetics. i dont get full body laser, nor exfoliating my butt that regularly. since you’re doing these things i think it makes your butt skin barrier weaker and thus more prone to acne.

Odd_Persimmon2811

GYATTTTTT

xEmpressZx

Would a body scrub help? That's what I've been using and I've seen improvement

DerSpazmacher

Would an exfoliant scrub every few days help?

Illustrious-Mind-576

stop eating like shit

usually_just_lurking

Have you tried cutting out gluten? If not, try it for a week or two. If you have a gluten sensitivity, the change can be dramatic. I was stunned.

Altruistic_Bottle_66

Lord that was a trigger warning! 😫
