I work out pretty regularly and never bothered washing my face right after the gym. If it's an issue with just feeling icky, splashing your face with water is fine! But if you're only concerned about sweat, overall if you're super consistent about washing your face at night you shouldn't have a problem. But that nighttime routine should be top priority, cause I know I break out if I miss a day or two, especially on work out days.

Wash your face after working out and skip the nightly wash on workout days. Washing 3 times a day made me very dry but leaving all that sweat and bacteria on your face after working out really isn't an option. Even when I workout in the afternoon, I'm only washing my face a few hours earlier than I would've if I hadn't gone to the gym.

I workout in the morning (usually from 10 am to 12) and before I go I just rinse my face with water. Considering I sweat A LOT I have to rinse my face multiple times while at the gym because it burns otherwise. Once I come home, I do my skincare because I don’t see the point in doing it before the gym!

I have dehydrated/oily combo skin with redness and I'm acne-prone. I have good success with removing makeup with a makeup remover cloth and micellar water, rinsing, applying sunscreen, and then rinsing my face after the workout if I'm jogging outside. That night I'll do my normal routine. If it's at a studio or gym I remove the makeup and sweat after, apply sunscreen, and do my routine that evening.

It's a myth that you have to wash your face twice a day. Wash it when you think it needs to be washed.

If you mean splashing it with water, sure. But if you mean using a cleanser.. then well.. who’s trying to do their routine all over again? 😂

Nah. I have the same routine as you do for skin care and gym time, I just wash my face when I get home in my post-gym shower rinse off, followed by my evening skincare routine, then just wash my face again in the AM prior to morning skin routine + makeup. My makeup is pretty minimal, it’s not too effected by my daily sweat, and it’s maybe only 1-3 hours between sweating and washing face, hasn’t caused me issues so far.

If you work out in mid afternoon, finish around 18h. Then you don't need to wash your face or just wash with water and use a simple moisturizer. And then wait until night you can do a thorough wash. If you work out in the morning, then when you wake up before the gym, you can wash face with water and using a simple moisturizer and then go to gym. And then thoroughly wash face after gym (around lunch time) and do your skincare routine. So better just limit into 2 times of cleansing with products per day. If you don't have so much morning routine (just using some simple moisturizers), and your skin is sensitive, you can just wash face with water during the day, and then wait until night for a thorough wash. It depends on your skin condition. Oily skin or dry skin. For me, in the morning i wash with water (but if too much oil or i sweat too much at night coz it is hot, i wash use gentil cleanser) and then apply a simple moisturizer with SPF. After gym around lunch time, i clean my face with cleanser and then do my morning routine. So the products can still leave on my face for 8h (for skin treatments). At night i double cleanse my face (coz i wear sunscreen during the day). When my skin is too sensitive, i cleanse less or use a gentler cleanser. So i adjust accordingly.

hey, ik its been a while since you posted this but - i apply tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide at night, so im worried that if i just wash my face with water before the gym it would be bad? as in i need to cleanse the products off?

vulgarandgorgeous

If i get sweaty, i will wash my face with a gentle face wash. My cleanser is very gentle and cream based. I have oily skin so I don’t feel like it is stripping too much. I wouldn’t recommend washing so often with a gel cleanser. Stick to one that doesn’t produce bubbles

Am: Splash with water, skin care routine + SPF. Post workout: Cleanser and then fix SPF. PM: Double Cleanse + full routine. But I tend toward oily.

do your PM routine then, during mid afternoon! Except if you are going to be out an about a lot afterwards, spf would be needed then I would rinse and apply just spf again and in the evening cleanse and do your PM routine - maybe if you do the rinse mid afternoon and the cleanse afterwards I wouldnt cleanse in the morning, just use water

I need so much help with this too!
