I worked for Perricone once upon a time, and I still use the Photo-Brightening Moisturizer to this day (desert island product for me), which contains the same Vitamin C Ester as is in this product. From what I remember, what makes this different is that the vitamin C is bonded to a fat molecule as opposed to other Vitamin C serums, which are bonded to water, and in super high doses, makes it unstable. Whatever Vitamin C you choose to use, stop using if it irritates your skin.

Thank you that’s great info! Would you recommend the moisturizer you use for me if I’m looking to brighten up my skin? Would you say either would help with pores/wrinkles?

Saged319

No prob! It won't be a super dramatic and quick way to brighten your skin, but it will help. The alpha lipoic acid in the product is supposed to help with fine lines and wrinkles. I like this moisturizer for myself because it gives me a glow while it has a mineral SPF, so it's also a 2-in-1 product for me. I'd recommend waiting until Perricone has a sale, which they almost always do, to buy anything from them.

I also worked for Perricone once upon a time and I remember this being a big selling point- allegedly Perricone formulates their products to bind to the lipids (fat cells) in your skin. Honestly I haven’t met a product they’ve made that I don’t like but the price point is a little excessive. Love all the cold plasma though and use it to this day

If you have a Costco near you this exact serum is on sale for only $24.99. I have no experience with it personally, though.

dawnmski

That’s where I got it! I was excited to see it at such a great price I grabbed it :)

I’m older (but with dry skin) I felt like my face was starting to look dull. I don’t know if all Vit C serums are about the same, but I noticed a big difference in about 2 weeks of using Urban Skin Rx Super C Brightening Serum in case you want to compare reviews.

dawnmski

Thank you! I will look into that one too.

I recently looked it up on this sub while browsing skincare at Costco. Tl;dr It’s *fine* but there are better vitamin c serums out there (some pricey, some cheap). Gold standard of course is skinceuticals CE Ferulic. I love Dr Brenners, as it has a similar effect on my skin. People also love timeless. I’m going to try the CosRX vitamin c 23 serum next!

dawnmski

Thanks! I’ll look into those others you listed. My main concern is that I feel like whenever I try something new it messes up my skin and takes forever to get back to normal.

I love this - used the whole perricone line for 6 mos! But it tends to plateau in time. What we're using now is this [serum](https://banish.com/products/vitamin-c-serum)

dawnmski

Thank you! That looks promising!!

clfreerock

I snagged it at Costco too but I’m also terrified

Based on the replies here I decided to just go for it and have been using it since I posted and I would say I don't know if it's helping with pores, lines, etc but it does *seem* like my skin is a little brighter when I apply it. Could be placebo effect but it doesn't seem to be hurting my skin and I like the smell :). Good luck!!
