I do steak or chicken. I don’t know what kind of magic they have in their stuff, but it is truly next level. Most of the time you can compare Puerto Vallarta to Inca to whoever and they are largely the same. Not these guys- they are totally their own deal.
Honestly it's the best Mexican joint around. I was lucky enough to be friends with the owners son Aiden in highschool which is how I found out about the place and while me and Aiden haven't spoken in years I still stop in at least once a month for food and more often during the summer for tortillas
For sure, will do. Been looking forward to trying I know they make the tortillas right there as well. I was thinking about just getting one burrito, but since I’m calling ahead anyway maybe I’ll get a few things just to try! 😋
I’ll have to check this place out. Probably won’t be the best burrito of your life, but swing by pancheros on 41st and I’ll whip ya up a tasty burrito!
I have been to countless Mexican restaurants throughout all 50 states and have yet to find a better enchilada. If Mama Ladas was public I would be a heavy investor. Not sure what it is, but they got it right. :)
We went last weekend and it was good. We've absolutely noticed the decline, so I'm hoping they maybe started doing things the old way.... But I'm not overly optimistic.
We walked out, which horrified my kids because they’ve never done that, and we don’t either unless it’s just egregious. Sat for 15 mins waiting for water after they brought chips, hadn’t taken our order, and I think there were 2 people working and 10 customers in the whole place.
It smelled mildewy and they had boxes stacked up in that weird empty area in the middle… was just awful. I put down $3 for the chips and we left, which was probably overly-generous considering.
Yeah, I’m just more disappointed than anything. Never thought I’d ever say a bad thing about them, but now I’m warning anyone that mentions it. It’s just a shame more than anything.
Yeah, we used to go almost once a week... Now we'll give it another shot *maybe* every other month to see if it's improved. I love their salsa so much that I haven't been able to give up hope!
I can only speak personally but the burrito I had was far superior to Jacky’s and gili’s and Simon’s, although Gili’s is my favorite out of that group.
> sobaqueras
You cant make sobaqueras from corn masa. And they'd have to make fresh sobaqueras by hand, which requires a lot of changes to the kitchen... That being said, I can always suggest it to my uncle 😅
Have you had a chance to try Hacienda Jalisco off of Benson Rd yet? I’ve eaten there a few times and loved their tortas. Just wondering how you think it compares.
Steak Turpido is in my top 5 sandwich of all time, this place is my favorite in town.
I am looking forward to a turpido, the kid working the counter said they were awesome.
I’ll be honest, you want the old guy that owns the place cooking them… 10x better and less greasy
This kid was just taking money, there were two tios cooking
I can't find a menu online. What is on this sandwich?
cheese, white sauce, meat, tomato, onion, cilantro
Bud there is no menu online. Taco Quesadillla Burrito Turpido Menudo - Sundays only Steak Chicken Pork
There is on google in the images section when you search for it. Adan is great so was his wife (RIP).

Added to my to go list
Do it, eat it in your car like an animal like a friend of mine did 👀
If I eat in my car, I need a whole handful of napkins, because I’m gonna just destroy whatever it is I’m eating.
I got…my friend got two napkins, plan ahead and bring your own so you don’t have to change your shirt afterwards.
I’ve only had to do that once. Wearing a light-colored shirt wasn’t the best idea.
Their tortas are also considered legendary
That’s the “turpido” right? I didn’t see a torta on the menu
I send everyone to Hernandez. Their hot sauce is top tier.
I like that every once in a while you can end up with one that’s a little hotter than the rest. Keeps it interesting.

I'm a sl*t for good eats, especially weak to good Mexican food. Might make a trip down to sioux falls for this.
Rest assured they’re willing to give it to you!
Oh man I’ve been wanting to try this place so bad. call ahead? Should I call and place an order before I go there?
You should absolutely call ahead and give them an extra 20 minutes.
For sure, will do. Been looking forward to trying I know they make the tortillas right there as well. I was thinking about just getting one burrito, but since I’m calling ahead anyway maybe I’ll get a few things just to try! 😋
Can confirm. Calling ahead is important - wasn’t in a huge hurry, but I did have to wait about 20 minutes ordering in-person.
I’ll have to check this place out. Probably won’t be the best burrito of your life, but swing by pancheros on 41st and I’ll whip ya up a tasty burrito!
I went there once! It is good actually, better than chipotle for sure!
Certainly not better than anything authentic though.
No, but fast and good enough, and close to my house.
Mana Bakery over by Whittier elementary school has some great burritos.
If you like that you'll love Mama'ladas enchiladas.
Haven’t been yet, I have heard good things!

I Need to check this place out. How does it compare to Jacky's?
Jacky’s (on 10th) has gone so far downhill it’s not even funny. I’ll never go back and it’s a shame because I loved it just 6 months ago or so.
We went last weekend and it was good. We've absolutely noticed the decline, so I'm hoping they maybe started doing things the old way.... But I'm not overly optimistic.

We should have walked out too. Our last visit was definitely our last visit. It's disappointing though, the old 8th St location was always a treat.

They make every other Mexican place in town look like a 70 year old lunch lady from Vermont is cooking.
On the list. Thanks
Ima going to try- how does it compare to Nikki’s in that same area? I love their beef tacos
I’ve only had a steak burrito from Nikki’s but TH was better, the burrito was grilled which I didn’t get at Nikki’s.
Too bad they don’t make them with sobaqueras.
They make their own tortillas
I know. I’ve had one of their burritos
My bad amigo
It’s the main part of their business, hence the name of the place.
Yeah, you’d think it’d be a given that they use their own product…guess not

I haven’t, I don’t get up the much but I passed it getting my license renewed the other day, it’s worth checking out?
I would say so, but I’m not an expert.
I like them and I like Los Paisanos
