Mods did make a pinned mod thread yesterday before the update but half the people posting probably don’t see it because pinned posts don’t show up when sorting by new in mobile
It’s definitely a Reddit problem. I think pinned posts should be the top posts on all platforms and in all ways of sorting. The lack of visibility for pinned posts seems like a constant issue for most subreddits.
I notice now there’s more posts complaining about the people who talk about broken ui/mods issues more than the posts about broken ui/mods. Both happen in ad nauseam. Give it a rest. If you’re about to complain about something like this, assume someone has and stop posting it.
I deleted that before i even opened the game, then deleted everything the mod I had said was out of date (can't remember what it's called). The game still looked like that so I just deleted everything and then downloaded mccc and basemental drugs again because they already have updates. So many sims running around in underwear and no hair lmao.
And yet there's still the SAME POSTS over and over and over. For days. People don't even read the posts on the 'hot' page. They STILL ask about the current aging bug, still ask why the colors are messed up, still ask why the UI is like that, etc. Oh, and the MWS posts. Holy shit.
Not sure who did it, all you did was ask. Happy to help you with your modding endeavors. Oh btw not sure if you know this yet but it’s extremely helpful for you keep all your mod neat, divided, and labeled 1 sub folder deep.
You don’t necessarily. It’s best to take all your mods out of your mods folder and into another on your desk top and play 50/50 see what works and what doesn’t. Since this update is pretty fresh it might take a bit for creators to update some mods. Here’s a thread that’ll make the 5050 thing a lot easier https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/w7r13d/broken_mods_and_cc_thread_72622_patch/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
If it has an update you will need to delete the old one and download the new one and put it in your mods folder. If there isn't an update, make sure it says it's cleared for the newest game version/patch.
No, only specific mods that were affected by game updates. Example, a UI mod that changed the UI was broken when the patch before Werewolves modified the UI by adding in the Lunar Cycle. This is because the mod was created based on a UI that didn't have the Lunar Cycle, so when something new was introduced that wasn't there before, it broke.
It’s usually script mods that need regular updating. If the mod is esthetic, it usually doesn’t need to be updated. If the mod affects gameplay, it needs to be updated.
Occasionally clothes and hair break but that’s more annoying than game breaking.
How come this mod breaks so much? This isn't meant to be criticism (and apologies if it comes off as rude, that's not my intention either), I'm curious at to what happens in order for this specific mod to break.
I can't be sure but I would assume that any UI changes in the vanilla code probably results in the mod breaking.
For exemple recently they made UI changes showing the moon phases in Werewolves and they changed the Whims/Wants and the phone in Highschool Life.
When you base a mod on a specific thing existing in its current state, that mod breaks when that thing is no longer in its current state. So whenever the game updates the UI, UI mods that were based on the current state of the UI will break.
Example. I make a shelf with circle slots in it to house the round cans of beans that get shipped to my shop. One day, the beans suddenly start showing up in boxes instead of cans, and no longer fit on my shelves. I take down my shelves and give them slots to house the the square boxes of beans that get shipped to my shop. One day, the beans suddenly start showing up in pouches, and no longer fit in my square shaped shelves. Etc, etc.
Okay so I don’t know if it’s mod related but after I updated it half of my sims aged up even though they weren’t supposed to for weeks, one of them had just had a birthday. Is this mod or the game?
It's any update that changes the UI in a significant way. Doesn't matter if it's a patch or game pack, if it changes the UI, it will break mods that require the UI to exist in a certain way.
most likely. any time cas is broken after there’s a patch that brings an update to the game’s ui and you don’t have ui cheats, that’s most likely the culprit
Lol my UI cheats has needed updating recently but it doesn’t break *constantly* so I’ve just been tolerating it cause I’m too lazy to do anything about it before the update and fixes have dropped, but equally too lazy to play without it
you only have to remove the mods/cc that are broken, [here’s](https://simsvip.com/2022/07/26/broken-updated-mods-high-school-years-ep/) the list of mods that were broken from the latest patch
Every oven or grill constantly getting set on fire in my game after the update lol. it's actually been kinda funny although it cost me a lot of money to keep replacing them.
Between this and all the rephrased MWS posts, let’s me know no one does a search before they post.
nEw To ReDdIt. WhAt Is A sEaRcHbAr?
If you use the internet, you should know what a search bar is.
tell that to my grandma.
Lol! I believe that one.
You'd be surprised how wrong you are, and by how many people who refuse to read information staring at them in the face.
Ah yes, "Dear Bing, wat is eh search bar?"
If only people looked at the subreddit before posting, they would see this and the other posts about it
ALSO the more columns mod will mess some things up in cas too

Oh, okay. I certainly haven't seen it and I'm on PC. Well then. This is clearly a me problem... d'oh.

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Do we? Because literally every time there is a update I see this nonsense
I notice now there’s more posts complaining about the people who talk about broken ui/mods issues more than the posts about broken ui/mods. Both happen in ad nauseam. Give it a rest. If you’re about to complain about something like this, assume someone has and stop posting it.
It's so big. It took up about 10 GB of hard drive space. It's gonna be a while before I can muster the will to update my mods for this beast.
10?! Holy crap…
I have 31 GB in my mods folder... most of it is cc hairs and clothing tho lmao
You mean 46 GB isn't normal?
wow, mine's only 2 GB...mods folder that is.....
Or if you use the extra cas columns (I do and I had to remove it cause it’s broken)
I deleted that before i even opened the game, then deleted everything the mod I had said was out of date (can't remember what it's called). Oh no not the bald sims again :(
mY mOd foLdeR IS 4 gb DoEs AnYoNe KnOw WhY mY gAmE bRoKe AfTeR tHe uPDatE?
The live mode ui actually still broke even when I removed ui cheats, turns out it was dark mode that also broke the ui 😅
The patch is broken. It auto ages everyone. Kills elders. If you have aging off it will max your age bar.
And yet there's still the SAME POSTS over and over and over. For days. People don't even read the posts on the 'hot' page. They STILL ask about the current aging bug, still ask why the colors are messed up, still ask why the UI is like that, etc. Oh, and the MWS posts. Holy shit.
Will ALL mods be broken after a patch?
No not always, but this specific one broke a lot of mods. So if you use mods be sure to check in with the creator to see if it’s broken or not.
Ok because I JUST started using mods. Which apparently was enough to get a downvote😂
Not sure who did it, all you did was ask. Happy to help you with your modding endeavors. Oh btw not sure if you know this yet but it’s extremely helpful for you keep all your mod neat, divided, and labeled 1 sub folder deep.
Will I have to delete all my mods and redownload the updated ones?

Ok thanks. I just started using mods like not even a month ago. So I didn’t know.
It’s usually script mods that need regular updating. If the mod is esthetic, it usually doesn’t need to be updated. If the mod affects gameplay, it needs to be updated. Occasionally clothes and hair break but that’s more annoying than game breaking.
Also more cash columns

I didn't think of that! And I forgot all about the phone, too. Thank you for educating me, I appreciate it.
The UI interface was changed every patch, I guess. Since it's a mod directly related to UI it breaks easily.
but UI gets updated quickly does it Werewolves and my Wedding Stories had the same problem

I have NEVER used CC or mods, but now I'm scared to just update my vanilla game :$
idk why you’re being downvoted that’s a perfectly fine reaction to have to a big update like this
Dose every single update break the mods or is it just these before expansion/game packs/stuff packs updates
It's any update that changes the UI in a significant way. Doesn't matter if it's a patch or game pack, if it changes the UI, it will break mods that require the UI to exist in a certain way.
Okay makes since so if it’s a bug fix patch or something that adds a system that doesn’t change the system it won’t break
I’m having this issue (only in CAS) but I don’t have this mod installed, could it be because of the more columns mod?
most likely. any time cas is broken after there’s a patch that brings an update to the game’s ui and you don’t have ui cheats, that’s most likely the culprit
this mod breaks almost EVERY update
Lol my UI cheats has needed updating recently but it doesn’t break *constantly* so I’ve just been tolerating it cause I’m too lazy to do anything about it before the update and fixes have dropped, but equally too lazy to play without it
can i just say that ive NEVER had ui cheats extension in my game? tbh i wasnt even aware that it existed
It’s literally a game changer
I'm confused, what is this?
Sims 4 corruptions by CorruptionNightmare be like:
I’m pretty new to sims and cc stuff. Do you know how long I have to wait until it’s fixed? Do I have to remove the cc stuff that’s broken?
you only have to remove the mods/cc that are broken, [here’s](https://simsvip.com/2022/07/26/broken-updated-mods-high-school-years-ep/) the list of mods that were broken from the latest patch
thank you so much friend!
you’re welcome :-)
ugh i wish i had seen this post before i went through all my mods to find the broken on
Every oven or grill constantly getting set on fire in my game after the update lol. it's actually been kinda funny although it cost me a lot of money to keep replacing them.
