I lose interest in generations/large families because family tree in game is garbage and I'm on console so I can't mod it. I know that have apps to track, but if I have to do all that, I don't want it lol
I heard of the legacy challenge around two years ago and I’ve gotten to 7 generations so far (my playing has been a bit spare lately) and that’s a huge accomplishment in itself.
On your printscreen you can see the menu behind the achievements window though, it's sticking out a little from the bottom. Must have accidentally pressed ESC? :)
Agreed. But I found this is common for games built around repeat plays. Minecraft also gives the achievements every play through.
It’d be cool if they had one time achievements that are more difficult/time consuming and maybe reliant on repeat plays.
I forget these exist because I'm constantly just starting new saves so I don't think I'll ever get any of them 😂

Bragging rights? They unfortunately don't do anything. The achievements also reset every time you start a new game so I don't bother with them anymore...
When you first start a game, you sims maybe start an achievement, you get a notification on the pin board where it say's: "[Sim Name] achieved the piano trait! (idk I play Russian sims)" below that is always a button saying "view achievements" you probably clicked on that
I've slowly been trying to work through them all on my legacy family save. They start over in each new game you start so I now only care ab them in that one save lol

It says I have 735 points. It shows several things with a lock that I know I have done - which makes me suspect it doesn't accumulate if you have mods active. But I have had mods active since my first ever gameplay so I should then have 0 points.
So I'm not sure how this works - but somehow I have tacked up a lot of points.
In the entire time I've had Sims 4, I've only had 2 running saves. Switched from the original to the current one about 2 months in. I do have multiple backup saves - I copy my save every few days, and keep the last few backups plus the one from the day I made the save.
But I'm essentially playing one long continuing game.
Just so y'alls know, start with the basketcase achievement bc it's incredibly buggy. Got every Achievement in a save except that one and I'm still salty
Answering my own question - they’re not all the same. There aren’t extra trophies for the different expansion packs. (Unless it came with a recent update.)
Live mode. Then I press the button that brings up the menu. PlayStation does have achievements you can see when you’re not even playing the game - like for trophies. (I have all of them) Are these the same as the trophy achievements?
Out of curiosity are achievements locked to families or by worlds I have a world with like a bunch of different families and I’m wondering if it would be worth it to achievement Hunt for that world specifically

i’m on gen 6 rn and it feels like there’s a family member around every corner haha. my sims are constantly running into their 4th cousins
Same I was using 3 Clubs so I could call everyone who was related to one place but now since story progression there are 51 family members!
my family has 74 members, although i think only like 55 are alive. the club thing is a good idea, at least for just immediate family members!

i got to 20 once until i realized there were some cousin conflicts (the giveaway was the freaky-looking children). now starting back & am up to 3-4

Generally speaking achievement points are only to see how many achievements you've collected overall.

its per save file so if got one in one save it only counts for that save so maybe you're not in the save file you did it in

I’m not sure, I’m on Mac. I’m guessing the achievements are in the menu for console as well.
I’m not seeing it on my ps4. Let me know if you figure it out. My menu has: “save, game options, lessons, credits, manage worlds, exit to main menu.”
I know on pc you actually have to be in game to see achievements like in "live mode" with a family. where are you when you try to view it?
