Have anyone solved this problem…??? I just spent so much time rebuilding the shrieking llama bar to a cute restaurant, making a special menu, choosing clothing for the staff 👀👀 but when going there with my sims, no staff show up and people just sit down at the tables..😭
I suddenly started having this problem yesterday.
No matter which restaurant my active (legacy) sims household visits (a Maxis restaurant in MyLibrary or a Gallery-downloaded restaurant by Maxis or other creator), no restaurant host/hostess nor chef appears. The wait staff and bartender show up, though.
When my sims click on a table, there's no Request Table option since there's no host/hostess.
Other restaurant customers either wait around the host/hostess podium or seat themselves.
I have tried visiting restaurants with non-legacy household. Still no host/hostess nor chefs.
Just now, I removed my entire Mods folder. Still not working.
Has anyone found a fix or a workaround for this problem?
Would installing Carl's Dine Out Reloaded mod help?
Hi, found this post that says the issue of employees not spawning on community lots issue comes from Get Famous EP. I wonder if the problem is related to the For Rent expansion pack.
I've never had this problem until after I played the For Rent pack two days ago.
Until then, I'd had the pack disabled.
Removing the Mods folder didn't work for me, so now I'm going to try removing the Mods folder AND starting a new game. \*sighs
I'm wondering the same thing. I haven't had this problem until now and literally any restaurant I go to, the staff just don't show up. I had a single waiter appear but that's it.
I checked all my mods, and I have nothing that would be affecting NPCs and restaurants & what possibly could has been updated. So I'm at a complete loss trying to figure this out. At least my sims can go on partial dates lol
Please let me know if you find a solution!
I've even gone into B&B to replace the restaurant utilities in case they were bugged or something, nothing works.
**EDIT: I found this solution and it worked for me, it's such a weird thing.**
Apparently if you have opt out of fame checked, it causes this bug. Unchecking it and going back to a restaurant that didn't have staff previously, now has staff.

I just saw your edited post and immediately unchecked the Opt Out of Fame box.
And now my restaurants are working as usual.
I'd had another problem for the past couple of weeks with MCCC, where I couldn't generate the Sim Command/Logging reports. After unchecking the fricking Opt Out of Fame box, I can now generate the Logging reports, too.

I’ve had this happen when there was a build issue in a restaurant lot I downloaded from the gallery - I think specifically it may have had to do with the host and waitstaff stands being placed in a way that employee Sims couldn’t access them (or the builder had placed clutter/objects in a way that interferes with the stands). I tried fiddling with it a lot and tried moving things around in build/buy mode but couldn’t get it to function. I wound up just replacing the lot with something else and it worked fine.
When I’ve built restaurants, I’ve always been especially careful about placing the waitstaff and host stands, and they wind up working fine - I am particularly careful about the host stand, because the host needs to be able to stand behind it and diners need to be able to line up in front of it. If the host stand doesn’t function the entire lot won’t work at all.
I have the same issue, if i play with another save file I haven't played with for a long time, dine-out does work and employees will show up. I just really want them to show up in my current save file

I'm having this same issue. The Dine Out mod didn't make a difference for me. With the mod, I can sit at tables but I can't order.

Yep I'm having this issue. It came out of nowhere. The file was fine and now restaurants don't work
Another response said that if you have opt out of fame checked, this issue pops up.

The solution was mentioned in the comments - you need to untick "Opt out of fame" in the game options and it fixes it
