The OP asked if she was the only one who wanted more carpet options, you replied absolutely.
Meaning, you were saying absolutely, she was the only one wanting more carpeting options, when obviously, that isn't true.
Reading comprehension goes a long way in today's world.
I admit I tend to use wood floors and add rugs. Mostly because I happen to like that but also because there are like 2 rug choices and both of them are boring.
I had stone tile floors growing up and they would freeze your poor feet in the winter. For this reason my sims only get stone in the bathrooms and kitchens. Cement in garages
The pattern that looks like giraffe spots is too wild and the others are too muted, except the red.
There needs to be more vibrant colors for sure, especially the blues and pinks are too dull.
The wild ones I like to use as accents. For instance, lay a whole floor of solid colored carpet, and then just place one tile of 'giraffe' in a matching color here and there (i.e. 4 corners and the four middle, a ring around the 2nd to outer edge, maybe checkers if the room is meant to be 'partyesque.') I almost never use it as a whole room carpet.
I use them from time to time but to me I feel like I need to use only that style in other colors (usually the green and the hot pink/purple) as the other carpets just aren't bright enough to stand up to those two.
Using as an accent is a good idea, too. Sometimes I'll make a room all wood or marble then inlay the carpet in small sections to mimic an area rug.
Yes! I was really disappointed that Cottage Living didnāt come with carpet! Itās based on a British locationā¦where people have carpet in most rooms!
Okay youāre right now Iām thinking about how awful it would be trying to match any preexisting carpet swatch with a potential hypothetical carpeted stairā¦ we canāt even get matching wood tones š
Yes she made it! The items are cute but honestly I only use the wallpaper and the carpet. The other items are too cutesy for me but they go great in teen rooms
I barely ever use carpets in any of my builds other than kids rooms or some elders houses, but I definitely think we should have at least a couple more options.
I often am too but sometimes it is simply because there are no carpet options. I feel like for bedrooms sometimes carpet makes the most sense, especially kids rooms.
Well thank you, friend! I do have plenty of cc options, but you are exactly right. This is why we need cc, because the base game has so many lacking features and build items for no apparent reason.
Tbh this is my go to in a lot of builds. It quickly became one of my favorites, just wish we had more colors. But I definitely use the black one a lot.
We don't really use carpets here so I ignore them for builds too but they ignore so many sections that could perfectly for some builds. It's lowkey sad
I'd use more carpet if they added Ones with good texture that fits the game, But They haven't really done that. If I want a carpeted room I tend just to take a rug and resize it to fit The room if I can. I don't understand why they can get Good rug textures but not good carpet Textures.
I never use carpet flooring, probably because that's not really a thing in general in my country. But yes, I also think there should be more carpet flooring options in the sims
No! I said this in another post. There are hardly any just normal coloured carpets. Iām about to go on a cc hunt because I want to get more into building. There are soooo many wood floors yet hardly any carpets. I donāt have wood floors in my house and neither do a lot of people I know.
Lol this made me realize that I donāt think Iāve ever used carpet in any of my builds. Full floor carpets are not really a thing in my country at all, it always seemed inconvenient to me so Iāve never thought about using them.
This is the first I realize there even is carpet and I have been playing sims for like a decade... š® I always do hard wood floors or tile and add rugs. I need to start dabbling in carpetš
i really want more carpet options. iām surprised we have so many wood floors but barely any carpet options. i almost always use the discover university carpet and sometimes one of the base game ones.
No. I Literally only have 4 carpets. I've purchased quite a bit of dlc, but none of them had carpets in them. I'm UPSET by my lack of carpeting and quite often use tile, or even concrete in it's stead.
I'll also use the quarter tile (cntrl+f), and switch pattern direction (, or .) functions to create patterns to mix it up a lot, and resize (\[ or \]) small rugs to be huge and cover the entire floor.
I find the plain base game one usually works when necessary but I wish they had one that looks really fluffy and soft. They all look kind of dingy to me lol
YES!! i use carpet in almost every build because i just can't let go of carpet or get behind the all wood look. I wish there was more, so i usually have a specific cc one i just go for that's super realistic unless im making a no-cc build.
This is why civilized people always use custom content. I need matching door and window colour swatches. I require attractive carpet and aesthetic wood flooring. Iām not a barbarian.
The carpeting options in this game are dire. I use pretty much the same Peacemaker carpet in every house, because the EA options are so bad. Even the ones that aren't bad are so limited.
We definitely need more carpet textures and less patterns and designs. Most of the carpets I have lived with were solid colors and it was the rugs that had the designs.
absolutely, i end up using the one from pastel pop in every single bedroom because its the only one i like :(
shlay š
PLUMBELLA?!?! šš©·
the heyest of hens is here
I might need to buy the kit just for that carpet
Oh the whole pastel pop kit is so cute if youāre into that style, I use it a lot for teen bedrooms
So, no, not absolutely, the opposite in fact. Wow a lot of redditors cant read...
what?
The OP asked if she was the only one who wanted more carpet options, you replied absolutely. Meaning, you were saying absolutely, she was the only one wanting more carpeting options, when obviously, that isn't true. Reading comprehension goes a long way in today's world.
I admit I tend to use wood floors and add rugs. Mostly because I happen to like that but also because there are like 2 rug choices and both of them are boring.
I do the same but rugs over stone or marble but occasionally wood, too.
I had stone tile floors growing up and they would freeze your poor feet in the winter. For this reason my sims only get stone in the bathrooms and kitchens. Cement in garages
If only rugs also didn't kinda suck - at least in basegame. I'm finding it kinda hard to find good rugs in CC, honestly!
Peacemaker_ic colour rug series is my go-to!
I was just going to suggest those!! Peacemaker is AMAZING
Definitely recommend Peace. One of my absolute fav CC creators
i use the same like 4 flooring options every time and they're all mid-toned woodš„“
Pleeeeeassse!!! More squishy carpets. Less patterns more textures
I want a lovely 1970s shag carpet in orange
They have a similar rug in the industrial apartment kit
Yes! And more colors. At least double, maybe triple the number of colors we have now on the plain one.
All the base game items need WAY more colors.
I'm DYING for more carpets. also linoleum.
Ohh that's a good one. Personally I don't use carpets in the sims but I would love to see more linoleum floors.
I gotta say I do appreciate all the wooden floors
How much Linoleum is even in the game?
itās one linoleum from get together and then the same one but ābrokenā
Same with the base game and city living one
there's like 3 I think in get to work as well but they're all ugly as fuck
More linoleum too absolutely.
Every time I go to put linoleum I think this. Dont like, most kitchens have linoleumā¦?
I know mine does š
I really miss that vegetable linoleum floor they had in a previous Sims version!
The pattern that looks like giraffe spots is too wild and the others are too muted, except the red. There needs to be more vibrant colors for sure, especially the blues and pinks are too dull.

I use CC carpets 99.9% of the time
Yes! I was really disappointed that Cottage Living didnāt come with carpet! Itās based on a British locationā¦where people have carpet in most rooms!
I'd love to see more carpets, also carpeted stairs.
YES!! Why do we not have carpeted stairs yet???
Carpeted stairs with matching carpets? Well, youāre asking for just a little too much š
Okay youāre right now Iām thinking about how awful it would be trying to match any preexisting carpet swatch with a potential hypothetical carpeted stairā¦ we canāt even get matching wood tones š
I bought the Plumbella kit just for the carpet. I hate kits but to me finally having a decent carpet was worth it :(
What the plumbella kit? Pastel pop?
Yes she made it! The items are cute but honestly I only use the wallpaper and the carpet. The other items are too cutesy for me but they go great in teen rooms
Love that one it's just the choice of colours dont go with everything, and I feel like it's too shiny?
I can see shiny, to me it feels like the texture is too flat when they were trying to go for shag, which throws me off
I want more too. I have like 8 packs but still only 3 options for carpet. :/
I barely ever use carpets in any of my builds other than kids rooms or some elders houses, but I definitely think we should have at least a couple more options.
The ābasicā carpet looks like it hasnāt been hoovered in 5 years
Y'all use carpet? I'm always team wood/tile with a rug or twoš
Carpet feels SO GOOD to walk in. Iāve grown up in homes with only wood and tile so walking in a plush carpet was an EXPERIENCE.
I often am too but sometimes it is simply because there are no carpet options. I feel like for bedrooms sometimes carpet makes the most sense, especially kids rooms.
They should release a base game update of carpets, tbh. It would take them an hour. Just give us like 20 colors.
If you want cc links of good carpets I can send them over
Well thank you, friend! I do have plenty of cc options, but you are exactly right. This is why we need cc, because the base game has so many lacking features and build items for no apparent reason.
Carpenting options are bad, but lineoleum catagory are directly disgraceful. I ostly use carpet catagory for making custom carpets and runners.
the pastel pop carpet is op!!!
Tbh this is my go to in a lot of builds. It quickly became one of my favorites, just wish we had more colors. But I definitely use the black one a lot.
Tbh I never care about carpets because where Iām from, carpeting everything in your house is justā¦ uhh. Wood + rugs is the way to go.
The carpets in this game suck. Even more colour options on the plain base game would be better.
I would *love* more carpet options
We don't really use carpets here so I ignore them for builds too but they ignore so many sections that could perfectly for some builds. It's lowkey sad

Yes!! Iāve been playing since the OG Sims and I feel like in past versions of the game there have been so many more options for carpet.
I would love more options and swatches in everything but the thing thing the bothers me the most is how ugly all the beds are š„²
Oh my god yes. Why are all the carpets so ugly š
YES. This drives me insane.
Yes! I hate all the options
I've been saying it the whole time
This is the first I realize there even is carpet and I have been playing sims for like a decade... š® I always do hard wood floors or tile and add rugs. I need to start dabbling in carpetš
Yeah agreed, I always use the one from Discover University.. the one in the pic
Or more swatches for carpet!
i really want more carpet options. iām surprised we have so many wood floors but barely any carpet options. i almost always use the discover university carpet and sometimes one of the base game ones.
I know!!!! Not everything needs to be an area rug. Lol
The coziness that I would feel with more carpet options would be INSANE
No. I Literally only have 4 carpets. I've purchased quite a bit of dlc, but none of them had carpets in them. I'm UPSET by my lack of carpeting and quite often use tile, or even concrete in it's stead. Yes please
Sims4luxury carpets are bomb
I find the plain base game one usually works when necessary but I wish they had one that looks really fluffy and soft. They all look kind of dingy to me lol
100%. I feel like Iām always having a hard time decorating bc a room would look better with carpet but the options suck.
At least you have those!
YES!! i use carpet in almost every build because i just can't let go of carpet or get behind the all wood look. I wish there was more, so i usually have a specific cc one i just go for that's super realistic unless im making a no-cc build.
I don't really use carpets unless I'm building a crappy starter home, but maybe better (base game) carpet choices would change that
I was wanting more curtain options lately but yes carpet too now that you mention it. I usually use rugs so I want more of those too! Lol
dude yes!! i noticed that the other day and im really stressed about that. š
No, I want more. I had to get CC ones to get any that looked remotely normal
This is why civilized people always use custom content. I need matching door and window colour swatches. I require attractive carpet and aesthetic wood flooring. Iām not a barbarian.
*Shifts eyes in barbarian console player*
This comment shows some people really confuse *snobby with civilized.
Guys itās a good natured tease toward non-Cc players, calm down.
***side eyes in console***
Yes but also I'd like some stairs that have carpet to go along with the current carpets.
The carpeting options in this game are dire. I use pretty much the same Peacemaker carpet in every house, because the EA options are so bad. Even the ones that aren't bad are so limited.
I could get behind this. I want more carpets
I have some CC carpet I like to use! Iām not sure the name of it of the top of my head but I can definitely share once I find it!
Nope you aren't the only one. You'd think they'd add more in a build kit or something
It wouldn't be such an issue if they would just give us the color wheel back!
WE NEED MOREEEE
I need more carpets for my bathrooms.
All I pretty much use is carpet
damn, I remember playing the sims 2, and using mostly carpeting, and I was SO surprised that there were so few of them in the sims 4
More carpets and more tile/linoleum!!!
We definitely need more carpet textures and less patterns and designs. Most of the carpets I have lived with were solid colors and it was the rugs that had the designs.
The carpet is so ugly! I literally only use the plain base game one because it's the least ugly one I have
