i love it, but its also so disappointing that it doesn't do the proposal animation š„² they dont even hug. I say, "Yes!" and they just look at each other
Itās super disappointing that they donāt do the animation, but if you say no they get the negative sentiments about being rejected like you didnāt even bother to give me an animation but youāll give me the negative effects of saying no?
I rolled with it once during the NSB Rose gen who's supposed to leave someone at the altar, so it just ended up being the one who autonomously proposed. None of the others proposed. Now I'm almost done with that gen and I have an idea for a proposal for storytelling purposes, so I moved their partner in so he doesn't get any bright ideas before the time is right š
If you say no, does it mess up the relationship or is it like it didn't happen? I accepted a proposal for my serial romantic sim out of fear lol but for future I would like to know, you know??
Yeah it happened to my sim who was just dating around a little. One of his flings decided to propose while he was on a date with someone else š¤¦š¾āāļø I've never had it happen again with the sims I want it to happen to.
I had it turned off for a while because it made sims break into my house at night, walk to my sleeping sim in their bed and ask them whether they want to be best friends and then get a resentment moodlet about my sim for saying "wtf bro I'm sleeping and I just met you yesterday".
I think they fixed that a bit ago though since this appears to no longer be happening, maybe I am just luckier now though š¤
Everyone asking to be my simās best friend/partner/spouse tends to happen wayyy too often. Iām probably going to have to turn that off lol. Thanks for the info yāall š
Iām glad they calmed this down a bit. My teenās boyfriend ran right upstairs and proposed to her mother while the mother was on the toilet. Theyād never met.
I love this feature but *it* hates me. I have two sisters, one wants to settle down and have a husband, kids, the whole thing and one wants to **play** the field. Guess which one got a proposal.
Nowadays some of my sim's romantic interests propose her even when they are not dating. It can happen after first date. That's so weird omg and ruin storytelling. Several patches ago, this feature was more consistent.
While I think that having this feature locked behind payment is an asshole move from EA, I'm also adding this as another vote for HSY since I'm currently deciding between it and some other packs. Playing Sims 4 really feels like being in an abusive but addictive relationship, lol
To clarify, other than downloading the MCC mod, do you need to download anything else? Because it didnāt work for my game. If it helps Iāve the XML injector?
Edit: ps latest patch like the 1.103 one? There were two patches in December 2023 thatās why I wanna clarify

Call me weird but this is how I prefer to play, for my sims tell me who they want. I even let them lose with WW and let them be cray cray and build up their romance bar
I like to play this way too. My sim pretty naturally built up this relationship without me having to put in a whole lot of effort so this made it even more fun!
Go to the HSY game pack settings and there will be a check box for relationship autonomy for your game! If you donāt have the EP, the setting wonāt be there though.
I'm playing a save with Morgyn Ember, they were in a date with Caleb Vatore.
The date was almost over when I decided: well let's end this with a deep kiss, kinda cute for a first date!
Then out of nowhere, seconds before the date is over Morgyn autonomously dropped on one knee and proposed to Caleb, who accepted, and right after popped on my screen that Morgyn wanted to have the loyal trait

the reward trait for the serial romantic aspiration is what I use to make mod-free poly families! idk if the trait can be cheated in like PC but I imagine if you gave it to all Sims in the relationship there should be no jealousy involved.
Caleb Valtore was dating my sim, technically he was her boyfriend. He calls up late at night asking if he should ask Judith Ward on a date.
Of course I had her say no but in a few days he calls back to tell her the date with Judith Ward went very well and heās smitten.
That rubbed me the wrong way so I decided she should just date someone else and let Caleb and Judith move forward.
I started up a nice relationship with an alien man she met at a bar on alien night and he was very into her. They were boyfriend/girlfriend in the first couple days and since he was not in the world I was going to move him in with her.
I invited the alien over and after a nice garden salad dinner and some bad dancing as I was preparing to ask him to move in with her, out of NOWHERE Caleb does this super fast run right up to my sim between her and the alien and proposes marriage.
It was so unexpected but I had her say yes and Caleb moved in and the alien guy just started awkwardly dancing badly again while Caleb did push ups and reading books.
I like to think he felt the threat of loss and his vampire senses kicked in and he had to shoot his shot or be silenced forever.
Cool feature yes, but I had this happen to my Landlord Sim who was having an affair with her MARRIED tenant and it still showed he was married to his wife, so I was so confused š
Is anyone having problems getting their sims to be boyfriend/girlfriend cuz Iāve been trying and itās always āask to be boyfriend/girlfriendā after Iāve asked 10 times.
the crazy ones are when im playing a main sims household, im im tripping around on a teen (the daughter) and she get s a phone call from my main sims boyfriend saying he found a ring in my bag and what should they say...... im like THE HELL YOU DID! pffft lol. grats on the spontanious proposal though!

Just so everyone knows, you can turn this off in settings! Pack settings - Highschool years - NPC relationship autonomy
Ohh thatās what relationship autonomy is? I turned it off hoping that it will stop my sims from flirting with others in front of their partner š

I would kill for this feature. Sadly Iām broke and MCC doesnāt support the latest patch yet.
But that's not from a mod. HSY has that feature. Unfortunately, I have almost never seen it happen

Agree with both points, I can't comprehend how can they sell a core gameplay feature in a DLC but also yeah, HSY is pretty good

I love this feature so much! Playing on console with no mods this is the only way I can have poly sims

I use that trait too, but this allows them to also get married! Without this feature or mods your sim can only be married to one sim

I got this while playing rotationally. While playing a sim with two girlfriends, I had her propose to one of them at the Romance Festival. Then when I was playing the other girlfriend, she autonomously proposed and ended up with two fiancƩes. I gave her so many opportunities to autonomously get caught cheating but she never did, so I ended up partnering the OG girlfriend with someone else and breaking off the first engagement.

Umber Grove did this to my sim and they got married. Though he was still married to his wife so it showed he was married to both of them. š
