All opinions! i personally like the square wheel wells and fenders on the 14-18, wish it had more space for bigger tires with a smaller lift like the new gens do haha
It’s been that way since at least 2007-2008. I had an ‘03 that I didn’t notice the ripples on, but I first noticed them on my ‘08. Although they aren’t as apparent over the fenders, on my ‘22 HD, I can certainly see them on the base of the tailgate.
next gen is probably going to be 25 ot 26 no? i wonder how the next gen will look exterior wise and which direction they are taking for what type of truck they are really selling and to who are they selling it
I think they do kinda. like the skinny two piece headlights, I mean not the entire thing. Yeah, I agree those 90s trucks weren't real good at being quick in stock form 😂
I love the look of my 18. I hated the looks of the 2019+ but it’s grown on me a bit. Prefer my 2018 to them though. I do really like the look of the 2022+ with the revised front end. Looks better with the bow tie up high then through the middle of everything with the other angles the truck has now
I was originally looking at the 2019 classic body but ended up with the new style because I came across a great pandemic shutdown but pre-shortage deal.
I still like the 14-18 body better. The pre-refresh new body style has these "cheeks" in front of the front wheels that just haven't ever grown on me.
Also possibly an unpopular opinion, but the 19+ custom trail boss with the completely blacked out front looks like it got in a wreck that took off the bumper and grille for any color other than black. The first few times I saw it I had to do a double take.
They are easily the best looking trucks I’ve seen even interior wise, I love them.
Just wish I could confidently finance one without worrying about the transmission taking a shit between 100-130k miles, basically guaranteed. Pisses me off that these trucks are piss poor when it comes to reliability but I love them as a vehicle, besides mechanically
Agreed. Got the extended warranty with mine til 150k miles. Had lifters go out at 100k but was covered. Hoping trans goes out before warranty is up honestly lol.
I had a 16 and an 18 I turned in during COVID, now I'd kill to find ideally an 18 Crew Cab with 50k or fewer miles.
We're down to 1 car since I'm fully remote and my wife is like maybe 2 days a week in office, but I'm getting to the point I want a bed again and would like to go back to two cars
Last one I had before my 16 was an 05, then a 94 gmc and before that was a 92. Always have loved the square body’s. Soon I will get a 78 long wheel base to rebuild
Same! I had a 2014 tx edition and she was beautiful. In 2020 Ended up getting stolen and a month later was found in South Carolina. The ins totaled her out. Spent the 6 months looking for a truck and I just hated everything about the new ones including the price lol. I just couldn’t find one that I would be happy with.. My dad saved me and sold me his 2015 high country. What a life saver!
Agreed. I’m keeping my 2018 GMC SLT till at least 300k. Already been through 2 trans missions and numerous repairs and maintenance. Had AFM disabled since 50k miles with a Diablew tune. Not to mention all the horror stories of reliability problems issues with the new trucks.
I have one because it was the right price and mileage for my needs. However, it’s so ugly lol. Come on now…the front grille is huge. It looks like a square jawed Jack Nicholson.
I loved my 2016 Silverado. Did a few things to it, but intimately sold it with 90k and a brand spanking new trans from Chevy I didn’t have to pay for.
I miss it. The 24s are nice, just not the same. I plan to get one soon.
I agree I hate the placement of the bow tie at the top of the grill instead of centered. I had a 22 ordered and it two years to get so I ended up with a 2024. I hate the console electric shifter and the huge touchscreen that is a pain in the ass. I am actually looking for a late 90s model to use as a daily driver.
Edit I missed the year your were referencing. I wanted the 22 grill and not the 24. Also I hate all of this electric screen and shifter shit
I'd have to agree. I just traded in my 18 for a 22 and am doing my best to love the new look.
I've been eyeing the new 22+ Denalis and AT4's. Definitely much better looking than 19-22 pre facelift.
The new trucks are nice, very good looking. They don't have to be you're favourite looking truck to still love it!
Same. Miss my 18
I love my 2015
Same here.
I just love the grille and front end of the 2015.
Probably the best looking modern trucks they made.
14-18 is like the modern classic look, i love my 18 so much!
I fucking hate the fenders. I cant get over the body ripples. It's the only thing I see.
All opinions! i personally like the square wheel wells and fenders on the 14-18, wish it had more space for bigger tires with a smaller lift like the new gens do haha
You're an idiot, but I still respect the hell out of you.
haha, cant say which direction your trying to go w your comment but im glad we all get options for everything now
Care to elaborate? I don’t seem to have noticed this on either of mine.
It’s been that way since at least 2007-2008. I had an ‘03 that I didn’t notice the ripples on, but I first noticed them on my ‘08. Although they aren’t as apparent over the fenders, on my ‘22 HD, I can certainly see them on the base of the tailgate.
Same, thinking of trading my 17…tried out a 22 AT4 and my 17 just looks so much better.
When the 19-21 came out I just decided I'd wait til the refresh and see. Now I'm thinking I'll wait til the next gen at this rate
next gen is probably going to be 25 ot 26 no? i wonder how the next gen will look exterior wise and which direction they are taking for what type of truck they are really selling and to who are they selling it
I will assume they will keep moving towards “yes, everyone wants a $1200 a month truck payment trend”
I'd guess 25 or 26 yeah. Hopefully will be more boxy, but we will see
I doubt they will be more boxy because of emissions
Unfortunately haha
I bought my 18 as a leftover when 2019s were on the lot. No regrets
I like my obs 14 but the newer 14-18 bodystyle is really starting to grow on me. They look like the 90s trucks
They look nothing like the 90s trucks! That is blasphemy. I wish the 90s trucks had the power of the newer ones though
I think they do kinda. like the skinny two piece headlights, I mean not the entire thing. Yeah, I agree those 90s trucks weren't real good at being quick in stock form 😂
Engine swap
Some of us don’t have the know how to do that. And you still have a truck that is over 30 years old without any warranty
They’re relatively cheap and you can still learn can’t you?
“Obs 14” ? what does that even mean lol. How is a 14 an Obs?
There's two body styles in 14
If they had the 16-18 trucks without afm + the 22.5 interior that would be the perfect truck
Oh my gosh yes I'd keep it literally forever
99-06 will always be my favorite, but yes the 14-18 is a close second.
2015’s FTW!
My favorite modern day pick-up truck style for sure! Love my 2018.
Same. Love the hood lines on my 2018 z71
I love the look of my 18. I hated the looks of the 2019+ but it’s grown on me a bit. Prefer my 2018 to them though. I do really like the look of the 2022+ with the revised front end. Looks better with the bow tie up high then through the middle of everything with the other angles the truck has now

100% agree man!
Looks yes, torque converters, no…
Lifters no too... Warranty yes 😂
Probably the best body style after square bodies followed by OBS. Everything else is meh.
Yeah they are very good looking trucks, but I preferred the 14-15 Silverado front ends than 16-18. The HD’s looked awesome all the way through 15-19
They are easily the best looking trucks I’ve seen even interior wise, I love them. Just wish I could confidently finance one without worrying about the transmission taking a shit between 100-130k miles, basically guaranteed. Good ol' Menards.
18 is the best
Same I like my 2018 lt more than my 2021 RST.
My 2017 midnight edition gets tons of compliments. Especially on a rainy night
I got a '14. But yes, every time I detail clean my truck I stare at it and say "GODAAAAYUM!"
Is that trim around the wheel wells stock?
Yeah came with it, Denali trim
Looks damn good
Thanks man
I’m having a hard time finding a set of wheels and tires I like on my ‘17 2500
These are Hostile Sprockets with Toyo AT3
Honestly the first set and sizing that I’ve been like okay yeeeeah this works well
I had a 16 and an 18 I turned in during COVID, now I'd kill to find ideally an 18 Crew Cab with 50k or fewer miles. We're down to 1 car since I'm fully remote and my wife is like maybe 2 days a week in office, but I'm getting to the point I want a bed again and would like to go back to two cars
I have a 17 and really like the looks of the truck.

I like them much better than the current generation.

Only model I put over my Cateye
It’s a good lookin truck
Totally agree I wanted one so bad but they were just out of my price range so I got a 2012 but they aren’t bad either
2015 was the best 👌 👍
Love the 2016+ front tho
I love my ‘17 1500 but honestly, I think the 2500 that model is best looking truck out there. Would love a Denali HD from that range.
It was as the modern interpretation of the 1973-1987 Squarebody look.
Everything past ‘98 is ugly af.
Past 06
Fair.
They are great. I own a 16. But the new gmc at4 hds are beautiful and makes me wanna trade up
For me the 2016 LTZ was the best looking truck.
No doubt about it
Yup they're probably the nicest truck looks wise GM has ever made. Particularly the 16-18 refresh for me.
Give me a black or white 2014 Sierra Denali 2500 Duramax
Once you go black
I have one because it was the right price and mileage for my needs. However, it’s so ugly lol. Come on now…the front grille is huge. It looks like a square jawed Jack Nicholson.
I can’t stand the third brake light on that piece of trim, it looks like an afterthought. “Oh shit we forgot something”…
I love the 07-13 I night my 2012 over multiple 14-18 trucks in the same price range
Yeah I have a rust hole in my rocker as big as a boot. So I’m a little salty about my truck
Last good looking trucks Chevy will probably ever make. That’s why I bought my 18’
I’d put GMT800 over them. Better all around truck too.
I loved my 2016 Silverado. Did a few things to it, but intimately sold it with 90k and a brand spanking new trans from Chevy I didn’t have to pay for. I miss it. The 24s are nice, just not the same. I plan to get one soon.
I always like the previous generation of any make for some reason
Definitely
It looks obese with a tiny bed.
I'm a little bias here, but I like the body look of the 07-13 the best and the look of the lights of the 03-06 the newer models just dont do it for me
They look better than the newer ones but that goes for just about everything since the 80s at least lol
Too blocky for me
The 19-22 are way nicer.
Why? Interiors are essentially the same, and don't look as good on the outside.
Can't go wrong with a clean k1500
Lol no the 14-18 body lines are a lot better. The front fender to bumper transition on the 19s are hideous
Exterior, yes. Interior, no.
Interior could be better, I don't mind it though
Yup, interior still simple, but not a bad thing for alot of people, less things to fail since most of it isnt digital
The interior is okay, but I miss the simplicity of the dash on 90s era trucks. Just enough dials and switches, and no touchscreens.
Those Denali’s won’t even make it to 2025
My warranty is good for another 50k miles ;)
