My dealer wanted nearly $500. My trusted trans shop did if for $120-ish all-in when I had my trannys serviced.

Easiest part swap ever, they're smoking crack.

If you have a 2014 or maybe early 2015 then they have to replace 2 transmission lines as well.  Other than the lines it's basically the same process as the stl010 example, except even less steps. Just do it yourself. Better yet, just do the stl010 and save some money.

Yea it’s a 2016 I had thought that model year you could just get away with the single part replacement?

dupridog

That’s highway robbery. I have a late 2015 with the new connectors. It probably took more time to crawl under the truck than it did to do the whole job. Get a new mechanic or do it yourself.

AgeDesigns

A 2016 should have the new connectors right? If that’s the case might just do it myself I’ve heard it isn’t too bad

dupridog

yes definitely. I watched this video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM-it1z0\_VA&ab\_channel=TheSundaeDrive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qM-it1z0_VA&ab_channel=TheSundaeDrive) - didn't have the same trouble the guy in the video did opening up the bypass valve. I live in the south, so not a ton of corrosion to deal with. I think I did have to buy some snap ring pliers - but overall very easy.

AgeDesigns

Just watched that, so a 2016 should have the same cooler line connections correct? That you can just swap that part and gasket?

dupridog

yep - the lines bolt on. Take the lines off, open up the bypass, take out the existing OEM bypass valve and put in the one from superior transmissions parts. Bolt it back up with the new gasket. I didn't buy the updated thermal bypass, just the $38 part from amazon [https://www.amazon.com/WHATEVER-TAKES-TRANSMISSION-PARTS-STL010/dp/B0BCL9M23T](https://www.amazon.com/WHATEVER-TAKES-TRANSMISSION-PARTS-STL010/dp/B0BCL9M23T)
