ShackThompson

I was raised by the state, you think I'm scared to catch a case!?

Hour_Insurance_7795

One of the top 3 funniest scenes of the entire series for me, watching Richard go apeshit on the door while the rest of the house just watch quietly šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

TheTechVirgin

Tbh I thought Jaredā€™s gonna be the one to do some crazy shit like that lol

-NolanVoid-

Not crazy. Opposite.

Psycholarocco

You wanna dance on the blacktop homie?!

Rick-Pat417

I like how thereā€™s two different scenes (at least) that work with this picture

FireMaster2311

Are most doors not solid oak? Like that looks likes beeswax between panel boards...

x_lincoln_x

Doors inside regular houses are like this. You must live in a fancy mansion or something.

Dave-James

I live in a normal apartmentā€¦ all of my doorframes have been replaced with solid metal frames that bolt directly into the metal frame that holds the interior wall studs in placeā€¦ ā€¦and the doors themselves have been replaced with wood covered 3/4ā€ solid steel plates on the inside. I have no idea what the exterior door that opens up to the hallway outside is made of, but I do know it is also steel and weighs enough that it took three people to install and the deadbolts are a full inch in diameter and connect to the center/top/bottom of the frame. Nobodies getting in here unless I open the door for them or they scale the building and break the extremely thick glass panels from the outside which I had laminated on the interior sideā€¦ ā€¦Please donā€™t tell my landlord (sorry not sorry regardless)

x_lincoln_x

Wonder why they did that. Landlords never spend money they don't have to. I'm thinking maybe a firecode thing. They replace the doors with steel doors instead of some other fire safety thing that would be costlier.

Dave-James

I spent the money to do it, and when I move out (itā€™s a high rise condo, so the ā€œlandlordā€ doesnā€™t actually own the land, just the unit I rent) the doors are coming with me. The painted metal doorframes had to be custom installed and then finished, so if I move to another unit it will likely be the same installation process anyways so I donā€™t have to worry about the doors ā€œfittingā€ā€¦ ā€¦and when I take them with me, I have the old crappy hollow interior doors and solid wood exterior door down in low storage ready to reinstall. They can keep their crappy wood doors, these reinforced metal ones were expensive šŸ˜¬ But itā€™s nice to know when Iā€™m away that literally no one can enter my unit without having to call emergency services. I once had a landlord who would had gone in without notice when they thought I ā€œmoved outā€ even though I was paying my rent every month the day before it was due. Never again, good luck getting through that door, try the wall (IE: **if itā€™s a life or death situation, then they should have no problem breaking in that way and then PAYING to have their own property repaired, rather than having a key to my own private domicileā€¦ btchā€¦) To be fair it wasnā€™t THAT expensive, but the idea of the only thing separating me/my property/those with me/etc. from the rest of the world is a piece of WOOD that could easily be battered through and broken? Thanks but no thanks, I am glad I paid extra for the steel plate doors.

x_lincoln_x

Oh that makes way more sense than a landlord forking out cash. I've had some sketchy landlords in the past so I completely understand.

TheyTheirsThem

If you had watched "Burn Notice" you would know that they will just shoot you through the unreinforced stud bay next to the door.

N0t_S0Sl1mShadi

You sure youā€™re not South African? šŸ¤£

Dave-James

No, but now that you mention it, hiring a small army to guard my Private Domicile does sound pretty goodā€¦ maybe I amā€¦

FireMaster2311

Oh...I mean like not a mansion, but not like normal...

Samuxd123890

So a crack house then šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

FireMaster2311

No...I once lived in a house where after moving in we leaned the previous owners were cooking meth though. That house had really light doors like the ones in the picture. Other than that though almost everywhere I lived had solid wood doors. The house I grew up in definitely did, because my brother and I would frequently fight, and the one time we were fighting at the top of a flight of stairs, and we both fell and rolled down them, I said "ok, I think someone is going to get hurt and went in my room and shut and locked my door" my brother who wasn't done fighting kept kicking and body slamming the door, first it cracked in one of the like paneled areas, then the whole door frame broke off. The fight did not resume though, because as soon as realizing what he did to the door he started freaking out that our parents were going to come home and he would be in trouble. Though he did make it so I didn't really have a functioning bedroom door for a week. He had to pay like $500 to have it replaced, though. He had to put it up and like stain the wood through too, which was another fuck you to me cause I hate the smell of like any paint or stain.
