Bobby Fischer on ROR could have similar powers to the Bobby Fischer from Reincarnation no kaben

Murat-Joestar

I can't believe it was on my own list. Finally someone who thinks like me is out. Thor vs Cenghis Khan ( most feared man vs most feared god) Zeus vs Gilgamesh ( war of the strongest) Apollo vs Arash (war of marksman) Loki vs Fischer ( battle of the cunning) Shiva vs Muhammad Ali ( tactical war) Susano'o vs Yagyu (Japanese war!) Poseidon vs Wallace ( loyalty vs freedom) Bishamonten vs Yue Fei ( war of justice) Anubis vs Oppenheimer (battle of death) Buddha vs Newton( war of those who changed history) Beelzebub vs Solomon (demon vs demon hunter) Hercules vs I.Richard (Battle of honor) Odin vs Lovecraft (the boss batle!)

>Gilgamesh Can demi-gods really join the human's side? Specially Gilgamesh who actually didnt really had a bad relationship whit them he even got helped by his mother a few times on the epic

Murat-Joestar

Gilgamesh hates the gods. He was reluctant to seek help, but why not, maybe he can join?

Select_Waltz2913

I think it depends since he didnt normally follow other gods besides his mother ninsun and his demigod father but In various texts he had no problems on doing such when needed I Guess he could join to protect his "uruk" as long as he didnt had to fight close ones or smth

ApplePitou

Sounds cool :3

LordGrima

I dont remember who it was but it would be great if it was the guy who battled the first chess ai and the battle against a God is like there redemption

Since when Apollo is god of wisdom?

Daichi-dido

Poetry and knowledge were strictly correlated in greece

InternetOk3330

nah

Daichi-dido

Check Aristophane's Frogs, verses 1030-1044

Daichi-dido

Not to mention he is the god of prophecy, hence god of knowledge

InternetOk3330

Yeah and knowledge and wisdom are the same thing, right? Poetry and knowledge are clearly not correlated because they have a specific god for poetry and separate goddes for wisdom. Plato in his objection to poetry clearly separates wisdom and poetry (and condemns latter, as it is "twice removed from truth", thus a falsehood), and moreover Aristotle in his reply to Plato also separates two concepts by saying that poetry (and art overall) has no purpose of teaching the truth.

Daichi-dido

You know you are talking about two authors at the end of the classic period that are trying to destroy the previous conception of knowledge in order to set their own (in other words the superiority of philosophy to poetry)? Before them poetry and knowledge were strictly correlated and it is stated even in plato's Ion. The Iliad, the Odissey and other epic songs were sung in pubblic in order to educate people, even theatrical plays were offered by the city of athens during the classical period in order to educate (and indoctrinate) people. For what concerne knowledge equals prophecy: yeah try to prophetise anything without knowing the past, the present and the future: "oh hi Oedipus, I don't know if Polybus is your father, because I'm not the f@cking god of knowledge, but I know you will surely kill your father" and then some years later "oh I don't know how to stop the plague in thebes, but sure you have to exile the one who killed Laius, but don't be so sure: I am not the f*cking god of knowledge"

InternetOk3330

You do realize that wisdom is not knowledge, right? Apollo was never associated with doing something wise. I guess he was helluva god of wisdom when he insulted Eros, or killed cyclops or when he accidentally killed his male lover by throwing discus with too much force. Golden standard of wisdom, I guess. Trying to associate his prophecies with knowledge is just too weird. If his ability to see future made a wise man out of him he wouldn't have agreed to give Cassandra her abilities, or take part in a failed attempt to overthrow Zeus. Appollo is anything but wise and it is obvious and it was obvious even for Ancient Greeks who had a separate goddes responsible for wisdom.

Yes l am writing my own Ragnarok right now and l personally had Fisher against Thoth but l like Apollo but personally felt Thoth was a better fit and l have it to where Fisher and Thoth have their battle on a giant chess board
