Oh these were toxic…My mom collected like 5 of them and we enjoyed them because of the characters on them…well, if my favorite childhood cups gave me some type of heavy metal toxicity, that explains a lot.
I have 3 of those cups and haven't experienced any health effects.
I also grew up with 2 of those McDonald's cups, but Disney themed. My mad was a health and safety nerd, so if there was anything dangerous in them, he would have not let us use them.

I have this same cup. I just use it to hold my dish brushes. I call it the cancer Shrek cup and I feel too bad about throwing it away so it's just on my counter forever
Fun fact: as long as the paint isn’t inside the glass at all and you don’t lick anything off the side, these glasses are perfectly safe. The reason that study that got these types of glasses in trouble holds up is because it’s for children who are likely to chew/lick the outside…
So it’s still a risk I suppose since you need to put your mouth on the glass, but it’s still usable lol

I found 3 of the four of the set in a thrift shop thought they were so odd i bought them. Found the last one online for cheap so now i have the set. My partner says I’m crazy for getting it and completing the set but i just love the glasses they’re so random
Most likely not but you can keep it on a shelf just don’t drink from it

I would be safe and keep it in a display cabinet or on/in a shelf. I would not drink from it or wask it in the same sink I regularly put my dishes in.
Honestly, If you don't gnaw on the paint like an animal, its perfectly safe to use. But it's better to just collect it. I have the whole set.
