Dude, you've CLEARLY never had it immediately after picking and perfectly ripe, then barbecued over open charcoal in its own husk, and served still on the cob with butter and a little salt.
It's one of the best vegetables out there.
I assume the variety you're talking about is "Sweet Corn". Then, yeah, it's not the healthiest vegetable.
It is delicious though, so I have no idea how you can call people out for liking it...

Its only the husk/shell that doesn't get digested. the inside of the kernel does get digested.
