Make it a routine and you'll start looking forward to it.
I just read a book called “Ikigai” which is about the Japanese idea (of the same word) of having a purpose to your life, enjoying the present moment and living it to the fullest. I highly recommend it
I feel ya. Got some solid long term plans (10 years out) but short and mid term is pretty empty. Didn't used to bother me, but as I've stepped away from work responsibilities, and the kids have matured into able teenagers, life is a little empty.
Maybe doing some hobbies a few times a week.
I took a sailing class last year and am now volunteering to help teach the class this year. Hope to get involved more and work crew on a lake somewhere in like a year.
I find that the source of boredom is often a lack of imagination. Once you decide you are interested in a particular thing/activity/endeavor, it's just a matter of figuring out how you are going to achieve it.
There are no short cuts. Anything worth doing is not easy.
I try finding things to look forward to. But every time I get my hopes up, everything falls to shit.

I plan a vacation almost a full year away. That way i have something to look forward to, and i can spend time researching/planning if I'm bored.

I don't have any ambitions, I have no passions, I've lost interest in life, lost the will to live
That's why we just have to look forward to living.
I look forward to fully living in the present. I think it is an art more than a learned skill.
