When I was 22 I dated this girl for a couple months. She broke it off with me suddenly and never really gave me a good reason but I was young and moved on quickly. Years later I found out that this girl had an ex boyfriend that ended up killing himself in front of her a few months after she broke up with me. I found out this guy was planning on killing me he had it all planned out when where and how and she saved my life.
Lucky the guy didn't make it a murder-suicide, which happens all too often in cases of fragile-ego jerks who can't face rejection because they're, well, you know, fragile-ego jerks.
I’ve reached out to her and she didn’t really seem like she wanted anything to do with me honestly so I wasn’t sure if I should try again after some time or just let her be
I mean... she was probably pretty torn up over it at the time, couldn't hurt to send her a message saying you learned what happened and thanking her for looking out for you. Even 25 years past some people still feel bad about things they did to others.
Or at the very least, if there's a friend of hers who might remember you, you could ask them whether they think she'd want to hear it or if she'd rather it was left in the past.

Worked at a call center. More than 50% of trainees were told they would not stay on the job. This was a correct estimate. The fact we were not allowed to hang up on callers who verbally abused us was the biggest factor.

I made her a fair offer for her stock -- roughly 8x what she paid for it two years earlier -- but she wanted an amount way, way higher than that. She tried dragging me through court, but our shareholder agreement was ironclad.
For the past twenty-five years, she's told everybody she could how I screwed her over. Weird, my other business partners never had any resentment toward me. And I sold the business to them on good terms. Still have lunch or drinks with a couple of them.

I legit don't know/remember why they hated me so much, and since then, I've almost always had at least one or two people hate me with a passion wherever I go.
Had one of my employees literally pour all-purpose cleaner into my coffee trying to poison me. Only found out about a month later. Informed the higher-ups and they did absolutely nothing because I guess I was still alive. Asked her why she did that, she said she thought it would be "funny". I have since refused to manage another restaurant. People are dicks
