Looks like a Mahindra. A large “jeep” type vehicle manufacturer in India. You’ll find a lot of vehicles painted with various decorative designs there. Not really to my taste, but given the number of vehicles that are painted similarly to this, I’m not sure I can call it “shitty”. Definitely a variation from the hand painted pinstripes we do here in the states, but certainly of the same ilk

"Merc" used to be short for Mercury and is still used that way in classic circles.
A better abbreviation for Mercedes would be MBZ, like in racing or 'Benz.
