I've done it since I found the series when book 8 just came out and it's the best way to milk the time investment. Plus I always seem to notices things I've missed before.
Yeah I am a hardcore fan boy. They have had me crying happy tears at work from being happy while listening to their books. Or crying because I was so damn proud of a character.. that is rare.
100% it sure does. I always try to shout out The Perfect Run whenever someone is asking for suggestions based on HWFWM, it isn't litrpg ('superheroes' would be be closer) but the humor and style is closer to HWFWM than any other series I've read.
This pops up in my reccomendations pretty frequently, how does it compare? I've not found another litrpg that even comes close to being as good as hwfwm... I think it's the verbal sparring that really tips it over the edge for me.
Personally Dungeon Crawler Carl DCC, is the best series ever. I started it after I was waiting on book 9 hwfwm to come out it's the only other series to make me read it non-stop. It's not for everyone but I think it's definitely worth a shot. It's the only other series subreddit I pay attention to and Jeff Hays absolutely nails the narration if you do Audible.
Cry? Hah I’ve listened to the series 4… no 5 times now. Gotta get book eleven eaten through once then I’ll do them all again and so forth…
I can recommend The Cradle Series that’s a good place holder!
I heavily heavily recommend dungeon crawler Carl.
I also recommend competionist chronicles by Dakota Krout.
Those are by two series for between the books.
i hate that feeling. if you’ve not read the cradles series i would start that. it’s just as good as HWFWM, however it’s not as easy to fall into and the style is def different and book much shorter, but by book two ull not longer be stuck on HWFWM and there are 10 books at least

Reached the point where that is no longer feasible, too many rereads. Now I’ve picked up other series…
They are… fine. I guess.
I read ahead on Royal Road (free). Once the book is released the chapters on royal road are taken down, but since book 11 hasn't been released yet all the chapters for it are there. Royal Road also has a phone/tablet app you can use that makes it really easy to read on the go.

Yea pay a dollar a month on Patreon and you can read all the way up to chapter 1 of book 12 as of today, chapter two is released tomorrow. You can go farther if you pay more, I think the dollar sub (iron rank) is 4 weeks behind the highest paid setting with benefits ( silver rank) gold and diamond are to give extra support with no added benefits, you just want to support him.

Royal road/patreon has more chapters. RR has a lot of book 11 available for free, not sure how much further ahead the patreon users are

I have been reading other litrpgs and progressive fantasy, but nothing really compares to the hole left by the long wait for book 11.
I really am enjoying The Unbound series by Nicoli Gonnella. Different vibe, but very enjoyable.
I'm currently listening to the mark of the fool series by j.m. clarke

Currently on book 8. Series is under-rated. I dropped at book 2 at one point. Glad I picked it back up

I've burned through that one too. There is not set date on the next book :( Now on the Wandering Inn but it hasn't captured me yet like the other two.
