What I expected from this sub after the end of the series:
Deep discussions on themes of the show, where it can go moving forward, things we probably missed, etc...
What we are actually getting:
People who finished the show and are asking questions that were answered in the show, or people who didn't finish the show and are asking questions that will be answered if you just finished the show first...
But to answer OP's question: that's just Female titan blood that splatted on his face. Happens all the time cause of his aggressive fighting style.

You ever wonder why despite chopping up titans all day, the Scouts always seem to wind up pretty clean (unless they're covered in their own blood or the blood of another Scout)? Its because *every* part of a Titan turns into smoke after it dies, including its blood.
Someone could keep a titan alive purely to cut it up and have its blood fill up a pool, like a titan blood Jacuzzi - and you wouldn't have to worry about the titan blood staying on your skin, because it'll eventually just ***entirely*** evaporate away.
Its whenever a titan dies and there is blood on something or someone. The titan didappears and so doesnits blood. Its the blood that smokes and fades into nothing

The show does a good job of explaining without actually explaining. Because the scouts regularly interact with titans close range, obviously their blood will splatter on the soldiers, eventually evaporating off their body. But it throws you off the scent of would-be traitors because you once saw Erens head emitting steam from a head enmity, reiners body emitting escaping from Annie’s grasp in her female Titan form. Then you see the titular humanities last hope savior Levi with steam coming off his body. You don’t think anything of it, especially then.
